Thanks for sharing! For my repair kit I generally carry the Exotac Ripspool, and some Tenacious Tape, and a Gear Aid Repair Kit. I always carry a CAT Tourniquet, and an Israeli bandage, a boo boo Kit and some Afterbite. Matador makes some great products for functional and compact hygiene kits. I have, use, and love most of their items. Good video! I keep smaller modular kits as well to keep all my necessities organized and easy to find. Keep the videos coming my friend. 🏕️👊

I used to think that I was just a nerd when it came to making packs for various reasons. Good to know that it’s ok to do this. I’ll show my wife this. Great kits. I guess after 13 years working on an ambulance and being in the fire service since the 80’s, I carry some basic trauma. To each their own. Great video, thank you. You’ve given me tips to improve my kits.

you can also mention to your wife that, as a U.S. ARMY RANGER, we were taught to have multiple small bags with specific tasks in each one. so that we could find what we needed quickly. this dates back to way before I was in (85-94) some of our Sr NCOs were Viet Nam Vets and taught us to do this.

We're still nerds for doing this, there's nothing wrong with that though. Everyone is a nerd about something.

No brutha, you do what works for you. I watch these videos only for ideas and maybe to see if there is something I forgot or could simply do differently.

Great video! One suggestion to add...Leuko Tape. It is a flexible fabric medical adhesive tape. When I put it on, it won't come off until I take it off. Great directly on the skin or to reinforce previous bandages. Best way to carry is to unroll some onto a used up gift card, providing a nice flat easy to pack "roll".

💥A must…Leuko Tape is the shit….it’s very hard to get off the roll it adheres so well. Storing it flat as you suggest is a great idea💥💯💥💯

Hockey stick tape does the same thing 😊

There are auto sutures. They work like zip ties . They are easy and less painful. Great video

Great kits.I would add Leuko tape in place of mole skin. Mole skin wears off very easily,Leuko tape wears like steel.

Great Stuff! Thanks for not pushing OLight like some others or nine ways to start a fire. I added a bug bite stinger sucker thing. It suctions bites and splinters. Also Plantain based cream works wonders for bites. A dab when you get bit, gone in 12 hours or so.

well thought out gear. a very small, lite weight item you might add, you mentioned ticks. I have used a tick key for years, it gives a much better removal, and does not leave anything behind. they are less than $3.00 and made of aluminum, so they weigh almost nothing. this style of compartmentalizing is something I have done since I was a kid, and it was reinforced when I was in the ARMY. it is very efficient.

Sewing up a large wound in the field is extremely dangerous, infection is all but certain to become an issue..!! Wounds have to be extremely thoroughly cleaned before being stitched up.. cover and firm pressure for bleeding and head for help (regardless of how far away help is)

Good info and I'm a big fan of the Tuff Possum General Purpose Pouch. Just an overall good size and of course well made in the USA by Jayberry ...

I'll be doing an overhaul this spring. I've looked into some of my camping items and kits, they are well used and some stuff definitely needs replacing or a fix up. Some has disappeared too but so far no favourite bits of kit. This video was a good reminder this needs doing sooner rather than later.

Greetings from across the pond! In addition to most items that you mentioned, I always carry * dental floss - it's also my sewing thread, * Insect repellent, * 50ml hand sanitiser gel (also can double as fuel for your stealthy MonkeyBoy stove), * hotel-sized soap in plastic container (as one great man said, "The first soap was made from heroes' ashes, like the first monkey shot into space. Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing.", and as Sigmund Freud said soap is the "yardstick of civilization"), * 2 micro-fiber towels, * sniper tape, * superglue, * all-purpose glue, and * 50g of Baby Powder! Shouldn't even think going for a walk in the park without Baby Powder. Inside the Med-Kit, I also have Vietnam Balm, Iodine, Hydrogen Peroxide, Potassium Permanganate and cotton pads. In my cordage kit I also like to have ordinary rubber bands, some wires and a pair of heavy duty zip-ties. Among "Possibles" I also keep black bin bags, aluminium foil and a sheet of aluminium (like a BBQ tray)

I've started carrying a very cheap dynamo charger (the $2 chinese ones) just as a back up. They are very fragile but once I tape it up I haven't had issues even with drops. The trick is not to charge the device but the battery charger you carry when it runs out. It's slightly bulky but extremely light and goes in combo with solar charger. It's loud but a great fidget toy. And also charges faster than solar in an emergency. I tend to get 1% charge on three minutes of cranking. So with about 10 minutes of easy cranking, you get enough for a few emergency texts or a quick call.

Odd trivia skill: If you don't have patches specific to the busted material and duct tape doesn't happen to stick to it very well... You can sew the tape into the material for a durable temporary fix.
