PACIFIC OCEAN (June 16, 2021) Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) conducts a live-fire exercise of the Mark 15 Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) and the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile System (ESSM) Mod 15 June 16, 2021. Vinson is currently underway conducting routine maritime operations in U.S. 3rd Fleet.
