Estaba: 1) No hay periodo La casa estaba en las montañas. 2) Eventos/Periodos con interrupción La fiesta estaba divertida hasta que se fue Juan. 3) Personas - Rutinas, emociones/ubicación/estado y comparación con el pasado En 2018, Ana estaba en Madrid. Estaba soltera y estudiaba mucho. Estuvo: 1) Hay un periodo La casa estuvo abandonada por 10 años. 2) Eventos/periodos específicos La fiesta estuvo perfecta. 3) Personas - acciones con Tiempo Específico Ana estuvo en Madrid hace 2 años. Ambos con significados diferentes: María estaba enojada cuando se fue Juan. (María ya estaba enojada por un periodo, entonces se fue Juan) María estuvo enojada cuando se fue Juan. (María enojadó porque/después Juan se fue)

Just found this channel about a week ago. It's the best grammar explanation video I have seen so far. I plan to watch all your other videos in time. Let me introduce myself, so you know my qualifications for my opinions. I have a Bachelor's degree in Spanish from BYU, where nearly all language students in higher classes are either from a foreign country,, or lived in a foreign country and had to speak the language. I graduated 49 years ago, but have spent the following years trying not to forget what I had learned, and learn more. I helped farmer friends iron out details with their Mexican labor contractors, I taught English as a Second Language at the community college (which included Russians and Viet Namese). I made myself study grammar workbooks. I taught Spanish classes in secondary and nighttime schools. Finally I went to work for a federal agency where I spoke, read, wrote, and translated Spanish every day for 20 years. Since I retired I am still trying not to forget, and to learn more Spanish. I have traveled to Mexico many times, and also to Guatemala and Spain. This video is really well done and this channel is definitely one of the best on RU-vid

I have been a Spanish speaker for 36 of my 59 years. I still have much to learn even though I get by just fine in my every day Spanish. Brenda, after studying spanish for a year, joining your school for a month or so, then leaving it, I am reviewing all your grammar videos. I have to say, there was one sentence that clicked for me: when you translated estaba enojada as "was angry" and estuvo enojada as "got angry". At some point I will return to your school. You are by far the best at explaining spanish grammar.❤

Una pequeña corrección, sujeto significa una persona, o en una oración la estructura que va separada del predicado como en inglés 'subject'. Pero si tú quieres decir 'subject' como en 'topic' entonces puedes decir tema, asunto, cuestión, etc. ¡Gracias de nuevo por tu comentario! Me ha alegrado el día ♥

Tu segunda clase de hoy fue aun mejor que la primera. Me pregunto si tu estas leyendo la mente mia. Yo habia acabado de usar era en vez de fue cuando tu apareciste con tu clase, ensenando la deferencia entre las dos palabras. Te pido perdon por haber escrito sin la inclusion de los accentos, etc. Yo voy a repasar los usos en mi computadora.
