I scurried up the drive way after stepping out of the car to see that the estate sale was underway and it wasn't even the 9 am start time yet! I found all this glorious glass there!
Hi Kelly Anne. I have the blue vases on either side of a mirror in one of my guest bedrooms. I need to clear off the dresser so that they are more visible. It's hard to find a spot for the treasures!
Hi Pat. How has your week been going? It's very hot and I'm hoping that isn't going to be a problem with this week's sales. My mother is going to go visit my brothers for about a month so I will get unfettered access to sales; run errands without a time limit; and just get some rest before resuming key caregiver duties. Wish me luck!
My goodness, what a glass haul! I would call that large bowl clam broth. It is beautiful. I love your collection of the antique pattern satin glass pitchers.
Hi Robin. I put a blacklight on the green dish. Nothing. I was disappointed because I was hoping some of the green items that I bought would be Uranium glass. However, none of it was. Thanks for reminding me!
Those glass vases did sale for $300.00 in the 80's & 90's. I was there. I think they are still lovely and like everything they will come back. Might take 50 years.
Hi Steve. I cannot imagine getting those prices for vase even if it was during the antique craze of the 80s/90s. I had to laugh about the 50 year comeback. I'll be dead... unless I'm on the world's oldest people list for some astounding reason.
Hi Gayle. Can you believe it?! Someone had half of a large dining room table filled with mid century glass when I first walked up. Thank goodness the man got out of that garage closet and I got to did for the remaining treasures.
Hi Mr. Timothy! It was such a fun day. I was piling everything on a chair in the dining room and I covered it with a shopping bag hoping that no one would "shop" my pile. I was lucky that it was all still there.
Thanks a bunch, Janel. You are such a treasure. I was so blessed these past two weeks. I cannot wait to see if the "streak" continues for at least a little longer.
Hi Ruby. I'm just thrilled with all the art glass. I've had luck with Pyrex and glass for the past 10 days. I'm hoping that I find some sales to attend this week. It's a bit of a scorcher now and that might make people pause before scheduling some sales.
LOL. I feel that way when I see other people's hauls on RU-vid. This is the best glass haul that I have experienced in ages. Maybe ever. I keep checking the estate sale company's website to see if they have any more sales coming up. Zilch so far.
Hi Will. I haven't done any research on the Amberina vase yet. I appreciate your information. I'll check into it this weekend. I have my fingers crossed!
On the green translucent flat bowl, that’s always a tough one. We all could go round and round on this one. One might call it a Peking Green translucent clam broth style glass. Some might call it green translucent style (French/American?) Opaline glass. Sooo many different manufacturers with their own variations. My question would be, “Why such a large flat bowl with a small center well?” Now, there’s another dance to dance. It’s a stunner, no matter.
@@livingthegoodlifechannel no matter what purpose it was intended for, it is great design. I call it simplistic beauty that stands alone. I respect all the glass with ‘bling’, but I have always been amazed by design which is ‘timeless’. The Asians understood this concept very well.
Dee, what a fantastic haul of beautiful glass. Those blue vases were selling for those prices 10 or 15 years ago but nowhere near that now I'm pretty sure. Hope you got the name of the tag sale company so you can watch for their sales. They definitely don't know anything about glassware. so happy for you. David
Hello David. Well, rats on being 15 years too late on the vases. I wouldn't have had any place to sell them to get the money anyways. I have been looking at the website for the estate sale company every few days to see if they have another sale coming up. Nothing. It doesn't look like they do very many sales per year and even then, they seem to be quite some distance out of town. At least, I lucked out at this sale.
