I've seen other interviews with Ms. Brown where she talked about how good Elvis was to her & the other ladies in the group. She said he treated them like princesses. At the end of one she said, "We loved that man. And he loved us. And we knew it.". Btw, I saw Elvis in concert twice, in 1973 & '74. In person, living, breathing, 3 dimensional, he was the most beautiful human being I've ever seen. It was hard to believe he was even real. And yet such a humble man. One of the highlights of each show was his interaction with The Sweet Inspirations & the musicians. There was a lot of humor & obvious affection between them. And he always gave them their moment to shine. So much talent on that stage. I feel blessed to have witnessed it. 💙☮💙

There's another interview with Estelle Brown it's called , Elvis's favorite singer. There's also interviews with Myrna Smith and cisi Houston, Sylvia Shemwell. Sylvia tells a story about how the doctors said she had cancer and after the show Elvis knew something was wrong because she was upset. He took her to her dressing room and sat her down on a chair and he got down on his knees and put his hands on her stomach and prayed to God to rid her of her illness she said he had tears running down his face. When she went back to the doctor the cancer was gone. Thats why the girls called Elvis a angel. They loved Elvis and Elvis loved them too.

Estelle and Cissie Houston are the two surviving members of " The Sweet Inspiration " . Cissie, now 88, only played Elvis's first Vegas engagement in the Summer of 1969, before moving to a solo career and session work. I believe she lives in Newark, NJ. Estelle is now 79, and still lives in Shreveport. Sylvia Shemwell passed away in California, on February 13th 2010, after complications from a stroke suffered in 2001, she was 68. Myrna Smith followed her on December 24th, 2010 in Canooga Park, Ca , aged 69 following kidney failure and a stroke.

well today is your lucky day. Elvis started using drugs in the army back in 1958. Check this out In 1970 Elvis writes to President Nixon (the I am not a crook guy) and offers his services to help combat illicit drug use in the USA. Elvis mentioned that he knew a lot about drugs and was accepted by the hippies. He said he could go right into a group of young people or hippies and be accepted which he felt could be helpful to him in his drug drive. Nixon and Elvis exchanged pleasantries and agreed that “those who use drugs are in the vanguard of American protest.” “those who use drugs are in the vanguard of American protest.” “those who use drugs are in the vanguard of American protest.” “those who use drugs are in the vanguard of American protest.” In 1977 Elvis dies of drug overdose and drug abuse. Putting Elvis in charge of speaking on narcotic abuse is like leaving Dracula in charge of the blood bank. Hypocrisy: What is an example of hypocrisy? People who tell you not to eat candy while they chomp away on candy all day. now you have read it.

@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 What's your problem? Elvis did NOT die of a Drug overdose, you don't know what your talking about! According to other people, he's not even dead, do you believe that? Elvis took prescription medication, not street drugs! Even if he did, it's no worse than MJ and Prince! So shut your trap and, do your research and, it's none of your business what he did or, didn't do!

whilst it is all very nice that the sweet inspiration sang with Elvis. the question you have to ask yourself is this. Elvis's career started in 1953, right? The sweet inspiration didn't start with Elvis until 1969, right? Why did it take him 16 years to use black back up singers? And for those of you that will or have commented about Cissy Houston. You do know Van Morrison used her on back up vocals in 1967 on Brown Eyed Girl. That is 2 years before Elvis. Now, here is a questions to consider. 1. why did it take Elvis so long to use any black artist? Was it because it was all part of the colonels plan to get the white dollar first? And once they had the white dollar and realised white artists were using black artists, they had better get in on the action because they could get the black dollar? Elvis was used as a puppet to get the pure white American "virgin" girls out of the black clubs because that is where all the action was. White America didn't want racial mixing especially in the south. Elvis did nothing for the black community as a whole. Maybe he wanted to, but you can bet London to a brick, he was not allowed. Not saying Elvis wasn't a good looking guy, good entertainer and a good singer.
@sludgeness1
@sludgeness1 Год назад
Sorry, but you are mistaken. Elvis was a solo act starting out. He didn't write his own music, artists would write for him, or he would ask if he could do their songs. He then went into the service, and upon his return he was doing films. He didn't have backup singers until his return to live music. There is no truth to trying to paint Elvis as anything near racist. Elvis wasn't even white. He was American Indian. Before trying to inject racism, you should learn about the man. Elvis loved all people, and he showed it constantly.
@bwana-ma-coo-bah425

@@sludgeness1 was Elvis the only one to do service? you do know they recorded a few albums to promote whilst he was doing his stunt in the army, right?
