I loved the video! First one I've seen on the Estie Winter White, and been waiting on seeing these pens close up. It's a beautiful Estie ♥ I have them on my list, Botanical Garden is the one I really want ....That Stainless Lamy haunts me :) it's a beauty... I love my Markolon 2000; and I post mine too, it's so easy to use the 2000 as an EDC pen... but that Stainless Steel 🤩is on my wish list... hopefully soon... I'm so confused by the Estie nibs and would love to try a special nib on one of my pens... I was looking at the needle point and Journaller nibs, and a SIG nib... my chosen nib size to write with an EF nib (Western) and Fine (Eastern)... I love my Pilot CH92 with a M/F nib it's so nice... I heard you said in the video you would have the EF nib on the Estie White ground to an Cursive Italic... I use Hobonichi Cousin styled planners (Sterling Ink Planners) and I would love it if you could maybe do a in depth video about nibs and differences on them. I am looking mostly at Esterbrook Estie pens and Frankin Christoph pens because you can purchase the pens with special ground nibs from these sellers online... I would also love it if you talked about the process of this and maybe even how you go about sending nibs in to get work done. Keep up the great videos and I look forward to your next post. Is this too much to write, 😆I love my pens and my family, friends and students sometimes don't get why I love my pens so much...

It always makes me smile to read your replies. 😍 I really want to try one of FC's SIG nibs, as well, though you should also add their Nagahara nibs to your list if you get the chance. Off topic but that Sailor PG Slim was a surprise. I like that pen a lot.. much more than I expected. If that's how all Sailors write, I'll definitely buy more from the brand.
Yay so happy for you! I’m still struggling with my techo nib (totally user error) I’m considering buying a standard fine or medium for my estie because I don’t want to struggle with it anymore. 😅
I still have a techo on my wishlist, but a few other friends have definitely warned me now that it does take a bit of getting used to, so the Estie needlepoint is now at the top of my Esterbrook specialty nibs, I think. 😅Thank you for watching!!
It is a stunning pen! I also find the Esterbrook Esties to be extremely comfortable to write with. My favorite colorway is the Rain Forest. Sorry to hear that it has an issue with the nib. I‘d assume that Esterbrook will make it right. Let‘s just hope it isn’t a production problem on all of the pens. Please keep us updated and thank you for sharing!
I'm mainly hoping that it's just an issue with my particular nib being weird and not a bigger problem. It's just very strange that it absolutely won't fit in my others but will in the new Winter White. I'll definitely share once Esterbrook has more info for me. Thanks for watching!
Once I swapped the veeeeeery wet ink out for one that's slightly dry, it definitely fixed a lot of the issues I was having. I'm going to toss a couple RO inks that I love shade-wise but find almost painfully dry into it next and see what happens.
Congrats! Pretty pen. I would want the silver. :) I hope Esterbrook can resolve the nib issue for you - swapping nibs is a big part of the appeal of Esties.
I really am sorry they didn't end up making a silver trimmed version of this one. I have a lot of friend who would have preferred it. And I definitely hope Esterbrook is able to get me a nib that will swap into my other pens, too. Thank you so much for watching.
Yes it’s a lovely resin! So excited from your excitement!! XD and OMG that nib seating…so damn funny I was kind of laughing inside from how they could have messed that up and that you quickly found that out by your want to use your journaler nib lol. No one would have figured that out unless they swapped nibs right away, but for esties to be claimed to swap for any other jowo nib housing unit…. This is really strange! Just because it’s special edition shouldn’t make it an exclusive jowo housing unit, too!! I hope you get some answers to share with us once they figure out this interesting finding!
I just heard from another Estie fan who was kind enough to check her Winter White EF in her other tortoise Estie for me, and hers seems to fit fine, so I'm hoping I just have a wonky nib and that Esterbrook will help me find a solution.
I should receive mine tomorrow from Atlas with extra fine nib. The first thing I will do is see if fits my tortoise with journaler nib. Thanks for letting us know what to be aware of.

My white Estie arrived and the ef nib does fit in my tortoise and vice versa. Hoping that Esterbrook sends you a replacement soon. It’s a very pretty pen but would be nice if it came with a gold ink converter as the black shows thru.
You’re very welcome. I just inked it with Pilot Yama-Guri and was surprised how smooth it wrote with an ef nib. Love this pen and wish in the future they would make an Estie JR to match. For the time being, I will pair it with my Kaweco Art Mineral White pocket pen.
Did you remove the converter before screwing the nib in? I had this happen once to me. Unscrewed and tried again and all was fine. Good luck. My pen is on the way from across the pond, from Cult Pens.
Thank you for watching! Yeah. I had everything disconnected. I have a couple other Esties that I've never had this issue with - that's why it was so surprising. I'm hoping Esterbrook will have an answer for me soon. The rep on IG was very friendly and responsive, so I'm optimistic that they'll have more information.
I'm very confused with the nib situation. I have five Estie's and all my nibs swap, including the Winter white. Maybe all my Estie's already have the new Jowo sized nibs? I am not sure. I hope you are able to figure it out. That is disappointing. I have not inked mine up yet because I am waiting for April. I don't have a journaler nib.. yet, but I want that one, along with the needlepoint. I have mostly fine nibs (it is my favorite) but also have an EF and a Medium I had ground to a smooth cursive italic by Kurt and Pen Realm and I love that nib also.

If the information which I received directly from the Esterbrook rep is accurate, then I would guess that yes, your Esties all have the newer sections that fit the newer Jowo nibs. I spoke with another pen friend who explained her older Evergreen was doing the same thing as my Cola, but maybe it's some but not all. 🤷♀ I'm glad you haven't run into the issue, though!
@@snarkywordsworth All my Estie pens are within the last six months so Im guessing I have all the new feeds. That would definitely explain it. At least you can swap the actual nib and not the whole feed section...even though that is a bigger pain. I'm so glad you brought awareness to this because if I buy a used older Estie I would have this issue. Not to mention everyone else that has older models. I hope the company puts some sort of alert or info out about this.

I'm one of the people who was eagerly awaiting this pen with silver trim. In fact, to my taste, it looks unappealing with gold trim -- even more so given the translucency and that little bit of yellow showing through the white. That's just my taste and I certainly don't expect everyone to agree with me, but I am so disappointed. I do have some pens with gold trim, but not many, and this pen in particular seems to call for silver trim. Sadly, the trim color is a deal breaker for me. I'm happy for those who love it though.

Thanks so much for watching! It's definitely a wet ink, but it's also a weirdly broad line even for a Western EF. I actually swapped out the ink out last night for what I would consider a pretty normal ink, and it's still quite a bit broader than I would normally expect. Plus, I just heard from another Estie fan whose Winter White just landed. She checked her EF nib right away for me and hers fits, so it's looking like I may just have a wonky nib. Hopefully, Esterbrook will be able to find a solution for me.
