You should be more gentle with that girl from 2010. The same type of empathy and understanding that show to other people should also be applied to her.. she was doing the best that she could.. thus, you shouldn’t be grilling her.. she was lovely and bubbly and it showed that she was a nice and sensitive person

@@martinecarvalho6095 This is what a lot of us struggle with on a daily basis. For example, I'm so quick to call myself fat, ugly or unworthy. Yet, if someone were to say this about my best friend I would be SO mad at them. If my best friend said this about herself I would do everything in my power to make her see the worth and beauty that I see. My sister lended me her hormonal acne prescription, the only other thing that reset my skin, it was so damn hard for me to lay down the makeup to look presentable for work, and the traditional acid spot treatments made it worse, and over dried my skin. So after a couple of months, of that prescription, my skin peeled and dried over, but it reset my skin. On top of that it took me weeks of research to find out what other skin topical treatments worked for me. I now keep to my routine, and watch out for ingredients on things.

As a 61-year-old woman who suffered from acne as a teen, I completely empathize with you. Back in the '70s, I did not have access to the various make-up and skincare products that were available to you. My skincare consisted of excessive cleansing and lots of sunbathing and my make-up was Noxema mixed with foundation. Yes, sunbathing thinking that it would dry up my oily skin. My family was not wealthy (military family stationed in Central America--so godawful humid), I could not afford to see a dermatologist. I compensated for my insecurity by being funny, friendly, and playing lots of school sports. Still, it was hard waking up each morning praying that that huge pimple was gone and no more had shown up. It didn't help that my sisters didn't suffer from acne. It wasn't until I was in my 30's living in a major metropolitan city in the U.S. that I was able to see a dermatologist and went under Accutane treatment to clear up my acne. I decided not to have children so the possible side effects were not an issue for me. I still have issues with my skin, some blackheads, large pores, and wrinkles. But watching and learning from videos like yours has really helped me to take care of my mature skin. You are an inspiration for a woman who could easily be your mother. Thank you for the time and effort you put into all your videos. I wish only the best for you.

Hi there! I just wanted to say a lot of people have been getting acne on their face due to mask wearing and so much moisture being built up around the areas where the mask covers. I suggest using some facial tissue in the mask and changing that often after washing your hands obviously, or checking the skin care in your routine that might have oils, etc. I also added Iunik Green Tea serum and Niacinamide and it’s helping! Don’t feel sad and hide your face because that will only make it worse if that’s the problem! Good luck!

You’ve grown and that is good but younger you was learning and deserves the space and respect you give yourself now who is still learning and growing. @@gimmeyourankles I used to say that... Untill I've developed really bad acne from ovaries cysts. It crumbled all my self esteem and I tried to literally burn my face off with pure alcohol. But then I found an amazing dermatologist who changed my life. It was expensive and frustrating and I cried and cried until I didn't. Now I look at the scars on my skin with pride. Not until recently I could walk outside with my bare face. Ofc, don't ever forget your sunscreen!

I found it around 2012/13 when I had the worst acne of my life. I was struggling with an ED, and dealing with a lot of stress in relationships all while trying to stay afloat in school. I tried all the home remedies I could find, and bought makeup I couldn't afford to cover it. My self-esteem was at an all time low. This video definitely made me feel like I wasn't alone. 💔

And now I just want to hug that person and be happy for the now-you cause you seem to be in a nicer place. I mean I've had quite a short acne journey (about a year, happily my issues were small and easily fixable and I found a good dermatologist right away) but that feeling of wanting to cover myself up with anything just so other people wouldn't have to look at your face still brings tears. This made me super emotional. I wanted to comment and tell you that you literally saved my life. Between 13-24 I had really bad acne, on my face and body. It started with a few and then my whole jaw, forehead and cheeks were covered. My jaw was the worst part, it was so inflamed that it looked like i had a red beard. I tried EVERYTHING for it to go away. Every skincare product, what to eat or not eat and went to several doctors. I HATED myself and the way I looked. No one in my life knew how bad I hated myself and when I tried to talk about it no one no could relate. Then I found your videos. It felt so nice to have someone who knew how it felt and was going thru similar issues to mine, someone who was so happy and positive. I followed your journey and it made me hopeful while I learned a lot. I don't remember the exact video but you made one where you were talking about hormonal acne and what to do about it. I started taking birth control and within months pretty much all my acne was gone. No more red beard, painful cysts and constant breakouts. NO doctor even mentioned this to me ONCE, just prescribed antibiotics or some ointment that did nothing. I'm now 29 almost 30. I still get a pimple or two and it still affects me, but it does not bother me that much as it did before. Skincare is now my hobby and a way for me to feel good about my appearance again. I just wanted to thank you for your past and present self. Without your help I don't know how I would feel about myself today. This video is so important for so many reasons. THANK YOU!

From 7th grade until 26 years old I wouldn’t let anyone see me without makeup. My mom had me try makeup when I turned 13 because I always looked so sickly pale and had blonde lashes and eyebrows. It took until adulthood to realize that simple act seeded decades of not being comfortable in my own skin, and forced me to become aware and hateful of something I wasn’t insecure about at all. At the very bare minimum I had to have mascara and eyeliner when in public (even when going in for heart surgery!!) But then I got really, really sick. I’ve been in bed for four years now and seeing myself without makeup every day and feeling too garbage to sit up and apply any has actually liberated me. My every focus is on survival now and I’ve lost my tolerance for feeling like I need to be anyone but myself. A simple coat of mascara now makes me feel like a completely different person, in a good way. I appreciate you sharing your journey because it’s such a brutally honest truth to confront. Both past you and current you resonate with me so much. I hope it does with younger people as well who might be feeling the same way be it due to acne or otherwise.

I even would wear a full coverage foundation to my dance team and soccer team practices because I was ashamed of it and was made fun of for it in middle school before I learned to hide it with makeup. Honestly I use to cake my face too but it was the only way I felt ok in my skin. You also helped me feel a bit better about myself because I saw that I was not the only one dealing with acne this bad because people use to just be like, "what, don't you wash your face" or "you just have to wash your face" but it wasn't that simple. One of my first pics on my FB is me at prom w/terribly matched foundation and no brows T.T Forever haunted by that. My acne has gotten better and worse if that makes sense? It's not as bad on my t-zone and cheeks as it used to be, but now it's horrible along my jawline and down my neck. My mother told me just yesterday that I should sleep more b/c my current breakout looks really bad. She decided to say that the night before my uncle's funeral. I'm 30 yrs. old, sobbing while making a memorial slideshow for my uncle and calling myself the worst things. And all day today, I wore a mask that covered my jawline and neck b/c I didn't want to be judged even more. Even w/all the work I've done on my self-esteem, it all went down the drain the moment I was criticized for my acne. So thank you, Cassandra, for reminding me that my intrinsic worth isn't based on what I have or how I look. I needed that more than you will ever know. if you're feeling really down about your acne, remember that you're not alone. My biggest wish is that someday, we won't be judged for our acne; that we can be seen as beautiful as those without it. Until then, I will never stop advocating for skin acceptance and positivity

Hey girl, I used DIM its a natural supplement I bought on amazon for around 12 bucks. It made my acne go away in just a couple months. It helped balance my hormones, after 6 horribly soul crushing years of insecurity and self loathing I finally found something that worked (I tried literally everything and wasted so much time and money) I picked my face that whole time so now I'm dealing with scarring with chemical peels (which also help keep acne at bay) once or twice a year and lookimg into doing laser. Its been 2 and a half years since I found my miracle amd I rarely break out (usually only if I eat like shit for too long) I really and truly hope this helps you or someone else out there, I know so many people on the internet dole out advice and its hars to sift through it all bit hey its 12 bucks. Worth a shot. Id love to hear from you if you try it and it works for you!

I've heard that acne around the jawline is related to hormone imbalances. I get minor acne every month around the jawline and its deeper than the usual pimple. Its seems there is no simple solution when it comes to balancing hormones levels. But I wish you the best of luck! and I'm sorry your mom isn't more kind, we all could use some more kindness in the world.

I think it's amazing that you have walked this great path on your journey to become a trained medical esthetician. AWESOMENESS!! Thank you for being you! Thank you for sharing so much information and helpful knowledge to others.

I remember watching this 10 years ago, made me feel less alone dealing with my own acne journey being 15 years old for 3 years at that stage, 13 years later I'm clear.. so proud of you and me!!! Thank you ❤

Cassandra♥️ I fought with acne since I was 11, I was mobbed ever since, felt completely worthless and even worse was the feeling of complete loneliness with that skin. Nobody I knew or seen until then had the skin I had, nobody. there was no youtube/online community to pick me up or made me feel even a tiny bit more like a lovable human being. Back then it was just that unbearable feeling of worthlessness, uglyness, loneliness, getting mobbed, being judged, going home and self isolate, self hate and all the horrible feelings that are connected to acne. I saw your video when It came out, I was 20 back then, even now I’m tearing up because I really, finally felt released that I was not alone. And I thought „man, this girl is so, so stunning even with acne, wtf“ I saw right through your skin and that gave me hope that maybe someday a few people might feel the same If they looked at me. Here in germany we have a saying, I don‘t know If it exists in other countries too but basically it says „nothing can distort a beautiful face“ and I truly felt that when I looked at you back then. I‘ll always be thankful that you made the decision to upload this video, It gave me the release of that heavy weight in my heart that I needed so desperately at that time. Hugs and love♥️

This is amazing. It took a lot of lady balls to open up like this. Sure, you've talked about your struggles in every video, but this is really TAKING US THERE, and for you, reliving it. Thank you for your honesty, vulnerability and bravery. I'm an even bigger fan now!

Hey big sister! I just need to thank you so much. You have changed my life completely, I have learned so much about skin from you. And I couldn’t be more grateful! I had days where I didn’t want to live, because my skin was so bad. I can’t even express this, but just thank you so much!
