well, im an estonian, if anyone doesnt know, why it really happened, then... finnish businessmen buys mushrooms for about 3 to 4 euros a liter from estonia and sells these about 25 euros a liter in finland (that means they take about 11 to 12 euros profit from a liter). this guy here went to helsinki and wanted to sell the mushrooms to finnish people by himself for 7 euros a "crate". the other mushroom sellers didnt like this at all because that was bad for their business and called a police.
This video doesn't tell everything, very little actually. But there are things called sale permits and taxes in Finland. And, I'm not being a racist, there are quite a lot of estonians working "off the books" in Finland.
I love that he is called ninja or samurai everywhere. that guy is so cool and all this hazzle over some fucking mushrooms, it's fucking epic. you can't sell your mushrooms here. well, then I'll fuck you all up with whatever I can get my hands on.
@MrCarl220 He did not have licence to sell mushrooms at that place. It was some other guys place who asked him to go away. The man didnt so the other guy called the cops
@fenotipobombay In Finland or pretty much in any modern country, you are not given access to a lawyer until you have been detained or charged with something. When he was still asking for lawyer the cops were telling him to leave peacefully, but he refused and thus committed a crime, and was subsequently arrested fo it. The cops could have still acted more cool though.
@BlackStar250874 He was denied a permit for selling on that market because he can offer lower prices what is illegal in EU. Furthermore he asked for a lawyer and for a embassodor and he was denied of that what is aswell illegal.
This video is great, as it shows how the situation developed - the police didn't just attack him outright, this man was given plenty of opportunity to resolve peacefully, but he refused and got aggressive. In many other countries the police would have just told him to pack his stuff NOW & git or ELSE. Or worse still, not even given him that chance but arrest him right away, impound his vehicle, confiscate his goods & charge him, no questions asked & no discussion.
Plenty? He was given opportunity for sure, but not THAT many opportunities/chances. Also, he stated that he wanted a lawyer here... I don't know if that really does much.
I am from Finland And this is what REALLY happened. The Estonian guy stole a marketplace spot from someone who had paid for it, and he refused to leave. That is why Police was called.
Estonian reporting in. I think that when people have a problem with you, have the fucking brains to solve things peacefully. You can't just go in a foreign country to sell your veggies without bringing yourself up to date with the rules of selling in the market. Of course it's hilarious how the Poliisi struggles hard with this one estonian hardass, but I don't see why you need to enforce a bad stereotype of estonians in Finland. You don't have to go to finland to get attention, stay in estonia!
@finnchick59 problem is this wasn't fair! only finish people could get the spots to sell the same mushrooms with a much higher price. they sell those Estonian mushrooms and berries labeled as finish berries and mushrooms so they gan sell them with with double the prices. so you guys are getting lied to and he was fighting for what was right.
Eesnimi Perenimi when i last was in estonia me and my friend beated 6 little estonian guys who tried to rob my friends girlfiend. But those were little guys i am not saying all of estonian people are not that weak or i dont know.
@maffiozo08 He was occupying a spot, which was paid for by another merchant. So he didn't pay the expensive fee for his own spot in the market, which is why he could sell cheaper. Police wanted him to leave, because the other merchant wanted his spot, which he had paid for. But Estonian guy didn't understand rule of law, and decided to fuck his own shit up.
@TheBlessedLady Based on what are you saying that he was talking to his lawyer? If this were true, he wouldn't have asked for one afterwards. What's going on here is that the local bureaucrats are pretty much fucking his brains, not allowing him to sell mushrooms after a long wait for the licence. So the guy starts screaming, and the police "retaliate" with spraying frikken pepper gas in his eyes, and it turns into a brawl after he throws mushrooms at them (oh my, mushrooms). Peaceful my ass
@redpheonix34 I think trying to take him down 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 would have been unprofessional. It is not a wise thing to do to take the risk of allowing him any extra chance. Bear in mind the police is responsible for HIS health when taking him down. Fewer police = more risk of having to go tough on him.
He was arrested, taken to jail, charged & convicted in a court of law, had to pay damages to the cop... I don't know about you, but in my book that's not "winning the day".
@@alakerta8722 Don't need to be as it's all there on the video, plain to see to everybody. He tried to do wrong, tried to fight the police about it, got his ass beat up, arrested, convicted in court and had to pay damages. I don't know which universe you live in, but in this one that is NOT a "win" by any measure. Sorry, but it is what it is.
If he had fought the police over the marketplace spot that he was trying to steal and the police would have been all like "Fuck this, this guy's just too tough, let's just leave him alone" and then he could have conducted his illegal business successfully, then yes, THAT would have been a win for him. That's not what happened though, and no amount of whining will ever change that.
Estonians please remember it was a Finnish president who came to your country, spoke to your parliament, speaking your language, and offered help in your creation of a post-Soviet nation.
I know it's ten years past, but we as Estonians really feel like Finland and Estonia are brother Nations. All though we were not able to remain free in WW 2 we are still too similar and friendly. And the action's of one man really can't change that
@robsteri That is beside the point. If you were in his situation, although you may not have reacted the way that he did; I would assume you would still be angered by the polices response.
It was in the new's. He was selling mushrooms for to low price and got most of the customer's to himself. I understand why the local's called the police
I'm from Finland and basically this guy is a reincarnated mushroom samurai who was triggered by the police and their insistence upon fornicating Estonia.
@gamervalter Senseless? That was proper use of force and police did only what was necessary to stop man attacking. As you can see from the video Estonian guy is walking agressively towards the police and trying to attack many times. Before hitting with baton and using OC police commands the Estonian many times to get down on the ground but he refuses. Police handled the situation very well and no one seriously got hurt. Estonian man got few bruces to his muscles and one cop got bleeding nose.
Seems to me that people don't know Finland has one of the best and most qualified police forces in the world. IMHO this is totally the right thing to do when a person breaks the law and doesn't stop it after advised to and then starts to act violent. I'd ban that douche from Finland.
@maffiozo08 You needs to understand in finland everything is more expensive than in Estonia and we also bigger paycheck.. but we have our laws!! I am sure that many Estonians wants also drive with unregistered taxis becouse it is so expensive and you guys only think of our best.. right?!
@BlackStar250874 do you even know why the police wanted him to leave? It would probably anger you too if you were trying to make a living and getting harassed by the police.
@CodyAllenmusic so stupid to start arguing about stuff you dont know anything about. the commotion started when he was trying to sell mushrooms without permit. the market supervisor offered to sell him a permit but he refused to buy one and the rest is history.
@gamervalter It is not a lie, its a fact. If he wasn't doing anything wrong why he got so pissed off in the first place? If he had a permission to be selling in that part of marketplace he just could have said it and I am sure he would have been allowed to stay there. Instead he had taken someone elses spot at the marketplace, started pointless argumentation and was aggressive. He violated law, acted like a moron and got busted. That is what happened. People here don't hate Estonians.
