These sessions are aimed at everyone, allowing us to connect to Smith in new ways in celebration of his 300th birthday.
Estrella Trincado is a tenured professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Specialising in the history of economic thought, she coordinates a masters and a Spanish massive open online course (MOOC) on the subject. Her writing on the British Enlightenment includes The Birth of Economic Rhetoric: Communication, Arts and Economic Stimulus in David Hume and Adam Smith.
Estrella holds several roles in the engagement of economic scholarship with wider society. She is currently vice president of the European Society for the History of Economic Thought (ESHET) and was an organiser for the society’s conference in 2018. She has also served as an elected adviser to the Spanish Association of Economic History and is currently the editor of The Iberian Journal of the History of Economic Thought.
Estrella has been recipient of the ESHET History of Economic Analysis Award (2005) and the Young Scholar of the Year Prize (2011).
Estrella joined our Festival Fringe Tercentenary Lecture Series at Panmure House in August 2023.
