@@Fe-ironman He is misquoted. First of all it was a cheeky, sarcastic reply, not intended to be offensive in the slightest. It's common to take sarcastic digs in the west. Also there was a context around budget. Even if it wasn't, you still gotta agree. Yes, we can build the GPT models, but will they be competent enough to challenge OpenAI? Think again, the biggest giant in the game(Google) whose hands were deep sunk in this exact tech for decades is playing a catchup and is lagging to stand against gpt4. What does that tell you? The Gemini model by Google is supposed to challenge gpt4. It is still in the training, and thus Google will be still behind. Now where are we? And what Indian company is exactly going to challenge them?
@senju2024
@senju2024 Год назад
@@Fe-ironman Yea. I missed that part. l it was a cheeky, sarcastic reply that did not come across very well. Sarcastic is American thing but we do not do that on International stage. Not everyone understand sarcasm. Anyway, I think Indians will get more motivated than ever to compete with with OpenAI. They can do it as India has one of the smartest engineers on the planet. Not to state the obvious but Microsoft and google CEOs are both from India.

I would have liked to hear which part of the AI tech industry regulators need to keep an eye on or how they need to prepare themselves to maintain pace with an insanely fast growing technology. I'm not as optimistic as Sam. The reimagining of the social economic contact is my biggest concern. Great power requires equal responsibility, and so far, humanities track record isn't good. I'd like to think AI could have such a high consciousness that it will identify with the universe, cherish diversity and all of creation and act accordingly. This is beyond alignment. Ideally it becomes like a parent, gently asking their toddlers to share! I'm very glad Sam is practicing meditation and mindfulness. His vision is inspirational. May we all practice "with him" daily!

@sishita1809

re why he thinks people will still find things to do: human history bears witness to this. We have an innate desire to find fulfillment by doing meaningful things & jobs. If you talk about the jobs we currently do with humans from 1000 years ago, they'll at best find it unimaginable & at most find it trivial (we don't NEED to do these jobs to survive or source food/shelter & yet we've created a vibrant system where these jobs do exist). The things that we will be unlocked to do will be far more interesting & transformative.

The thing about artificial intelligence is that it wasn't tested before it was made available to the public. We do not know the negative impacts of its implementation. We have to proceed with caution, as we do in the field of health. We are already reaping negative results from the use of tablets by children, such as attention deficit problems, concentration problems... In the future, as happened with cigarettes, it will be forbidden to give tablets to children... Regulation must come from the government because of the risks involved.
