So far all the bans seem reasonable! hope to see more videos like this talking about the format. Maybe do some decklists?

Dang, Strange cave is sick. Fossil Pokemon have always been up there with the Lost Zone mechancis for overarching gimmicks that were never quite all there. I'd love to see a Plasma Blast Cradily turbo deck with this though you might be better off just using Meganium to spam multiple stage 2s.

One thing you forgot to mention with Espeon is how it interacts with Draw Energy and Medical Energy, as when paired with Porygon Z with Crazy Code (which is like a Rain Dance for special energy) it allows you to infinitely activate the effects of those two cards to either get infinite draws or infinite healing

Not so much that I forgot (indeed, that's often how it's abused in Unlimited), I just gave only a single example that would be easily understood.

@@JustInBasil >Espeon is banned because it can be used in a loop that has a broken interaction with this one card >That one card is banned >And you can do that same loop with a different, legal, easier setup >But it also causes another loop that has a broken interaction with another card >Another card which is also banned Someone watching this video: "So if the cards that make it broken are banned, then why is Espeon still banned?"

@@OswaldOrtensia4ever As seen in the parent comment, the examples given in the video were not intended to be exhaustive. Draw Energy is yet another way to break Espeon AQ.

Hi JB - sorry in advance for this unrelated question. I'm brand new to ptcglc and am getting my a** handed to me. I'm a dad just trying to have casual fun while trying to learn the mechanics. Saw that the Pidgeot control deck has moved up on your meta deck list. Is it still viable? Don't want to burn resources purchasing cards (like Luxray, Chi-Yu, Mimikyu, and Wigglytuff) if it's old news a few weeks from now. Been trying to learn the basics with Zard ex, but yesterday I got demolished by festival candy apples, Dragapult dmg counters sniping my bench, and the mask from Crash Bandicoot that wouldn't let me use my zards. I feel old 😅

With you being a newer player, I'd steer clear of alternate win condition decks as success with those often hinges on a very good grasp of the decks you're playing against. For a newer player, I'd recommend starting with something simple, like Raging Bolt ex.

Thanks for taking the time to reply - appreciate it. Out of curiosity and lack of understanding of how meta deck rotation, will the Bird Control deck be a thing of the past within the next month or so?

Saw that you didn't get an answer, might be too late, but in case you're still wondering: Pidgeot Control is still alive and well as a deck. It's got a high skill ceiling and is tricky to play, and it doesn't have super-favored matchups into the top of the meta the way it did in last format, but it still has 50-50 matchups into most decks and is capable of winning a tournament with a skilled pilot. The exact build has to change with the meta, so things like Wigglytuff might not still be in the deck, but the general archetype remains an option.
