Eternal Format Ban List Explained: Part 1 

If this becomes a series, that would be great, because looking at the banlist, there are several cards that i ask myself “why would this be here?” So this video was really helpful explaining some questions

As someone who's been playing off and on since the beginning, this was a fun trip down memory lane for me. I was a big user of baby Pokémon cards back in the day, because I played a very slow-to-set-up deck and it needed both the stalling and the extra draw power to get going. It was a menace once it did, but baby Pokemon really made the deck possible. I was also glad to see the small, cute Pokemon be actually useful in the game. The banning makes sense, but I enjoyed playing them at the time, and of course, couldn't really blame other players for using them against me in return. It was like Radiant Greninja now--most decks had one. It's important to note that set up (and the game in general) was just plain slower back then, too. So while they annoyed people, losing an attack or two to a coin toss wasn't as devastating as it is in the current game.

This was definitely interesting. With such a long list of cards some of these feel like they got into some real shenanigans. I'm particularly curious about the reflipping cards. The effect being limited to just attacks doesn't make it feel that broken, but maybe there's some broken combo better than slightly improving the odds on something like a Sharpedo or the baby tag teams

Why not issue errata for the mistranslated cards?

I don't totally follow the reasoning behind Palkia & Dialga Legend being banned. It seems too clunky even with a wider card pool. You would need to get Time Control off multiple times in a row without getting knocked out before N/Iono wins you the game and I don't see that happening often outside of the Control/Mill/Stall match ups. That's also assuming those players have no way to deal with the energy acceleration or don't play Girafarig LOT.

Q - Been ruminating on this, WI Pokémon restarts the Expanded format for just SM-on? Or SV-on (Ex)panded? :p. Do you think it’s be necessary or unnessary?

The old trainer cards should be restricted to one of each in the deck or one per deck like an ace spec
