Today is the Fifth Sunday of Easter. We continue relishing the Lord’s glorious
Resurrection.
The Gospel today takes us back to the Last Supper, where Jesus revealed to his disciples: “I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.”
This is the good news: Thanks to the Father-the vine grower, the one who pruned the branches-the disciples’ relationship with Jesus got purified in his resurrection. In fact, their faith has become our inheritance thanks to the Holy Spirit whose descent we will celebrate soon.
So let’s continue celebrating the grace coming from the Risen Lord! Let’s choose to remain in him, to stay with him.
