In almost all of gaming history, I don’t know many dads that take down 5 super powered beings as well as someone who is basically a damn god to save their daughter as a durable human. Then he literally came back from the dead a second time to save her after getting his heart ripped out.
@@eredinedits8832 Ok but the difference was Kratos was fighting people that were weaker then him, And if they were stronger then him he got help. Ethan basically did this all alone as a person with pretty much normal strength and speed, One hit to the head from any of the enemies and it would pretty much be over for him.
@@Makoto-wi8qcyea sure , he's not military trained or isn't combative operator. he's basically a *Father* with a heart and a gun that would kill anything on it's way to save his daughter.
@@rohanmeher2150 Of course I know,im fans of this Series,And I know how cool leon is,But i just really like figure of husband and Father ethan have,Dont say Leon Bad either,Just my personal Favorite Now is Ethan.
@@rapply_y7115I agree I also think Ethan is just like Leon but more likeable. He is a family man and he loved his family and sacrificed himself just to save his daughter and he didn't even know if Mia was alive or not. 😢
I aggre with you. I didn’t really care for him in RE7 and when I heard he was the protagonist of RE8, I was annoyed however I’m glad he was the protagonist in RE8. He became a certified bad ass and I found myself getting more invested with his character. He may not be an original character in the series but he really shines especially in RE8
@@MasonKelly-qs5jzethan is just a stronger jack baker. Ethan could get mutilated to the extent jack does and still be alive because of the mold. Difference is the mold doesnt make ethan go insane so hes smart and also strong
@@crazycrazyman123balls6fr bro I was kinda the same I thought I’d rather play as Leon or Chris or someone else but he did become a bad ass and he’s sacrifice was super sad and kinda unexpected
It happened bcoz he was already infected by the mold. That's why the biology of his body changed. It got revelaed in RE8. Back when only RE7 was released even thaught it was nonsense but now it does kinda makes
Ethan always seem unhinged since the start of re7. Just replayed re7 and got to the point where margueritte changed into her monster form and ethan was just like "that's special"
people do crazy things when driven by adrenaline and shock, there're guys who can laugh at watching people die just from the sheer shock of seeing it, or even chuckle through losing limbs
Some of the other protags did it as well but the fact that he did it with basically zero combat experience whatsoever literally makes him a God damn boss
What's funny is in total he only had about 32 hours total of fighting for his life (RE7 takes place over one night, and RE8 takes place over one day) And these games were 3 years apart. And yet I'd still argue that he'd stand a chance against other RE protagonist with years worth of experience.
@@OvOLPD ethan died to jack and then got replaced by a mold clone with the same personality and emotions (idk why the bakers would give him the ability to rebel)
@@MosesGabriel-fl8bshe wasn't replaced by a clone with the same personality or consciousness, he's him, he just died but simulatiously got infected so his whole body begun to turn however he still somehow had his consciousness back
Village and I can’t get it out of my head. It’s easy to get caught up in the action and horror, but the story is really about a father who would do anything to save his daughter. Ethan is a great father who simply sacrifices himself to save his daughter. That’s something we can all relate to, no matter what. This game really got me thinking about what I would do to protect my loved ones. It’s a scary thought, but I think it’s important to know that we would all be willing to sacrifice everything for the people we love. I think that’s a very powerful message, and it’s one of the reasons why I love this game so much. In addition to the great story, Resident Evil: Village is also just a really fun game to play. The action is intense, the horror is genuinely scary, and the puzzles are challenging but not impossible. I also really like the setting. The village is a creepy and atmospheric place that really adds to the game’s overall vibe.
And those 3 main monsters posed a bigger threat to Ethan than all 5 of the lords from the village. Jack, Marguerite, and Lucas all had Ethan pissing his pants and struggling for his life as he desperately tried to avoid them, while in RE8 he was running at them basically saying "outta my way!"
@@CDNBreadDogs u clearly don't understand💀 Ethan was terrified of the Bakers because he had no experience with BOWS while he had no fear against the Villaige monsters. Even tho the village monsters WERE TEN TIMES MORE DANGEROUS. Did u PLAY the game?
@@viniciusgrosse1958 yeah I played the games jackass, and I also recall while playing that the Bakers and the molded were a lot more of a threat than the Village monsters, and that's not just to Ethan, even Chris had a harder time while fighting the molded and Lucas than he did fighting the Lycans. He practically mowed through hordes of Lycans and easily took down a mutated Urias, but when faced against Mama Molded and Lucas he had a lot more of a struggle.
Please someone tell me? WHY IS ETHAN SO HATED like why don’t people like him? Ethan is my favorite character in the resident evil series. I know that’s a unpopular opinion, but when he died I wanted to cry 😭
Aside from a relatively flat personality at times, I personally had no problem with him. Boy had a family. A loving wife. And died twice for those he loved (even if first time wasn't intentional.) He went through Hell twice for those he cares about. Gg Ethan ngl
It has all to do with the new RE fans who are basically Twitter incarnate “Ethan is a boring white straight man while lady d serves cunt and is girlboss or Wtv tf”
@@arian41148there's no such thing as the concept of 'normal' but the issue that ppl probably have with Ethan is that he feels very artificial and plain...
Ethan is an ideal representation of a Man. A man will do anything to protect his family, no matter if he's weak or strong by strength, his love for his family drives his will power.
3 things Ethan does to be a great father 1. Is willing to kill people for his daughter 2. Came back to life for his daughter 3. Gave his life to make sure his daughter is safe
@@sector98 yes and no, technically the Lords still had their own minds if we're talking about resident evil Village, and the bakers from resident evil 7, they technically were still people. Just no longer in control of themselves.
I've always loved Ethans story, nothing makes me bond emotionally with a videogame than Father and Child bonding. Joel losing Sarah and practically adopting Ellie, Ethan sacrificing himself for his Daughter, Kratos teaching Atreus the ways of a God and Marston sacrificing himself to buy time for his Wife and Son
Another great feat of Ethan is that he survived the attack that Lady Dimitrescu made against him, which was to dig her claws into the entire half of his body.
He went through so much shit just to die like that. I'd have been super disappointed, had it not all been for his daughter. He sacrificed so much, just so that his little girl can live on and thrive. That's a real man right there.
Ethan actually died with his first encounter on Jack and I guess he came back to life and now infected with "molds" that's explains his crazy regenerations.
@@overcasttree5896 he is probably still alive and i doubt capcom would kill him off so easily, i think he's still alive because of the mould he's got which is a virus which gave him regenerative abilities, so he's basically just a walking corpse
Ethan is the true Chad of residente evil, he didn't simp for no Spy lady, didn't get depressed with the death of a Platoon, the Guy literally saw his daughter Chopped in pieces and said "it's fine, i will stitch her back together"
@@tracadordeadms6054 hes a sigma but hunk has a big issue as well. he has no free will. he just dos a job no more no less. hes worse then even ada is and she sold her soul to the devil for chump change hes the perfect merc. no more no less
Hes partiality Mold, yep hes definitely a one man army. Bro has no combat experience, yet he still went head first arguably the strongest foes in RE and Solo'ed em...
@@ItsGhostCODMhe has military training in 8 and he still wouldnt be able to beat any other re character if it wasnt for the fact that hes already dead and literally made out of 100 percent mold
@@sla3her577 he just had 3 years training from Chris and that was also just basic thing like evading, gun handling, etc whereas Chris, leon, jill,Sheva had more training of combat if Ethan also gets combat training then he would be most powerful
Also fun fact: none of the weapons in re village except the LEMI handgun are canon, which means Ethan casually gunned down all of those lycans, four lords and mother miranda with just a handgun and a knife which makes him even more badass
just like his gravestone say's "A loving father who put family before all else" he is a determined man who will sacrifice anything even himself to save his family and those he cares about
I really dont understand why people hate ethan so much, hes personally one of my favorite resident evil characters cuz he always feels like a guy whos just in a horrible situation, and i kinda like that type of character, hes not an unstoppable badass, hes a dude who gets his shit rocked in damn near every fight hes in, but still gets up and keeps going cuz he has a fighting will to live. Thats pretty cool to me
you just explained why he's so boring. He's constantly losing fight after fight but it doesn't matter because he's already dead. That's not a fun protagonist to follow, there's zero stakes, he can only die when the plot demands it
Honestly out of every resident evil protagonist he’s been through the most (being tortured wise) Leon is also tied with him but in only two games he’s been hurt so bad but he’s a hero ❤❤❤
There is one thing we need to know about Ethan, is that, even though he sacrificed himself to save his daughter, he never stopped fighting and stopped at absolutely nothing to save his daughter. Now that is one hell of a dad. A dad that never gave up.
This man literally just ran on the power of love. In RE 7 he was motivated SOLELY by his desire to save his wife, and in RE 8 he wanted to save Rose. Love really is unbeatable
@@trustymccoolgalNot a bad opinion, Leon and Chris are core examples of that, but I find Ethan to be the best purely because of relatability. Of course, I don’t mean I’ve gone through what he has, but I think that in 7, he was a core figure in being an average guy like you and me defying the odds and coming out on top. I like that anyone could be thrown into Ethan’s shoes without needed experience like Leon or Chris That’s just why I like him though, plus, he was the first RE protag I got introduced to in the series
@@akazatextingstories The reason he's relateable, besides being an everyman, is because he's basically a blank slate for player to immerse themselves in. I mean especially in RE7. He had no face, no personality, barely spoke and was in first person, so of course that'd make Ethan the easiest for players to put themselves into because that was half the point of the character. I mean in a way even Miles from Outlast 1 had more character, if you read all the notes he wrote during the game. But because there's not really anything to grasp onto, Ethan turns out to be such a nothing character that I don't really care about his goals. Of course I played both 7 and 8 because they're really good games, but imo a better protag would be nothing but imporvement to the games.
Resident evil village was one of the saddest games I have ever played I hope that will be a way to see Ethan again in the next resident evil village game 🙏😢
leon: saved countless citys, purified racoon pd, went face to face with mr x, killed an infected berkin, roamed the sewers, fought many gigantic beasts, destroyed a village to protect ashley, killed over 5k zombies to protect helena, saved all of his friends including ada wong, tried to save japan, learned how to fly a helicopter by sheer will, destroyed the virus at its source, for 17 years he was fighting. i could go on and on about how much of badass leon is but lets stop here
People keep pointing out that Ethan is already mold, but that is more about endurance if I’m not mistaken. He still has human strength and intelligence, hence why he’d get a book to learn how to use a handgun efficiently as evident by the book in his house in RE8 This means that while he is very durable, it is still impressive what he’s able to pull of with little combat training. He’s also gotta have balls of steel if he looks at the giant form of Jack and thinks “I’m gonna shoot that.”
@@ZGh0st1422 High endurance ≠ unkillable. He definitely can die, he also didn’t grow his fingers back in RE8, so he can still be injured. I think the mold is more like a “second chance” at living.
@@SirLotl second, third, forth and fifth chance but sure, pretend the mold isn’t just plot armor until Ethan needs to die for the story’s sake, also he never grew back anything, he has to reattach it which is why his fingers wouldn’t magically return
Ethan is such a Underrated character in the Resident Evil games Like he didn't do this for fame, money, a job or to impress someone. He did this for his family, twice. Saved his wife and then saved his daughter all because he is a father. Be more like Ethan, Love your family so much like him
