How is the light that comes from it? Is it even noticeable ?? 😆.. I'm guilty...Sometimes I just gaze at the videos and nothing else...however , I did read your messages..you did good mixing the 🎶 and it seems like the monkey's had fun playing as well..lol. I'm located in Florida as well, I agree it's really no need for one here but a fireplace is like that icing on tha cake for a living room or dining room. I think it's very beautiful.. It looks a bit intimidating to put together but you made it look easy. Love it!
I have few questions: did you make a vent on the top of the frame? On that white mantle that you installed at the end? Did you build that mantle or it came with the fireplace?
Yes I made a vent on top, and the mantle is custom made. There are also vent holes above and below inside the opening, through the cement board. Also there is s small gap between the fireplace-frame and stone so the heat can escape from there...
He mentioned building it 5x5 if you add the sides it probably ends up being about 30 sqft at I am assuming 10-15 Dollars a sqft for the stone = 300-450 Dollars total
This fireplace is out of code. Because it's an actual fireplace and not an electric heater the mantle must be 12" above the firebox plus an additional inch for each inch the mantle extends from the wall
Ok thanks for clarifying this. I'm actually planning to build it all the way up to ceiling because it would look better. And the mantle would go higher as well..
