I love this how this distinction was pointed out. Too often in my country, people fight for press freedom when actually what they are fighting for is freedom of expression. Journalists in my country don't seem to adhere with the values of ethical journalism. Often, the uniting principle that journalists in my country seem to embody is that journalism is criticism. While I agree that there is a huge part of journalism in which criticism is vital, I disagree that this is the main purpose journalism. The distinction made in this video clarified the unarticulated problem in my head regarding the journalism that is prevalent in my country. By the way, I am from the Philippines.
