I heard the oldest Bible originates there. Ethiopian Jazz is some of the best 70s music to come from the continent. And about the women, they are simply top 10!
there Are alot of stores that import orgional items from USA. Don't misslead your followers. Research before you make a conclusion. you need to explore the city with tour guides. They Will help you to have a great exeriance in Ethiopia. Enjoy your stay!!
@Jay: Thanks. Yes, Addis Ababa is the highest city in Africa with an altitude of nearly 2,500 meters or nearly 8,000 feet above sea level. The hills behind the city which you showed us are called "Entoto" & they are even higher at about 3000-3500 meters above sea level. In fact, most of Ethiopia is a known as the "Roof of Africa" because most of its landmass sits on one massive volcanic high plateau which is, on average, 2000+ meters above sea level. @So, due to the mountains the rainy seasons can get foggy, drizzly & cold - just like in Europe. Because of the high altitude, the nights tend to be a lot colder & this confuses many foreign visitors who only consider the latitude or the tropical location of Ethiopia & ignore the effects of the high altitude on local weather. @Basically, Ethiopia's volcanic highlands - like the highlands in tropical Bolivia or Peru (Andes Mountains) - moderate the weather & allow Addis Ababa & most of Ethiopia to experience a spring-like weather all year round. @Another good effect of the high altitude is that there are fewer mosquitos on these highlands & there is hardly any need for mosquito nets in hotel rooms, etc. But this last aspect is changing now maybe due to 'global warming' as some mosquitos are settling in high Addis Ababa too. @In contrast, Ethiopia also has the lowest & hottest place on planet in the form of 'The Afar Triangle' &/or 'The Afar/Danakil/Dalol Depression' located east of the highlands & closer to the Red Sea/Djibouti. The Danakil/Afar Depression is one of the lowest places on earth (the lowest place in Africa), with an altitude of about 110 (?) meters BELOW sea level. @Intriguingly, the highest mountain in Ethiopia (nearly 5000 meters above sea level) is located only about 300 (?) Kms west of the lowest ground in Africa/Ethiopia [depending on one's geographic perspective] from 'The Afar/Danakil/Dalol Depression'. @There you go .. & thanks again. Wish you a safe travel in Ethiopia.
Don’t be surprised about the food prices…besides inflation is one of the reasons, almost everything you eat In ethiopia or anywhere in Africa doesn’t have all the toxic things or ingredients /no GMO and highly organic…/. It’s the same price or less that the organic foods and products in USA and other countries sale 🤷🏾♀️
I hear you. I don't live in the States, tho. I've been on the African continent for the last 11 months, uninterrupted. I'm comparing to prices in African countries. Thanks for watching
Bole Edna mall area was a former central area, but that was over 10years ago. These days there are several centers that are far more developed and urban centres that are beautiful and full of things to do. Meskel Square, Arat Kilo around friendship park and the library, piassa and even CMC which is further out.
The picture in the first half of the video, and at the end, is reversed. Ethiopians drive on the right, not on the left as the video has it. Also, the city has always had many cinemas for decades. Edna mall was not the only cinema facility.
🧶 Africa is more than that! Don't compare it with the Western Countries! We also have things that you don't have! Wait and see! Don't judge quickly! 🧶 You have too many homeless People in America! Especially, African Americans! It is a Shame, not much Social Services provided to them! No Equity! Unbelievable and Unacceptable for a Rich Country! Try to be Polite! Show the great Historical Places too!
Hey, I wanted to give you a heads up! So, when you mentioned that there was only one cinema, well, that's not quite accurate. You see, Addis actually has quite a few cinemas in the city. In fact, the oldest one, which opened during the time of King Menelik 2nd.
@@youme1414 Oh! My apologies, I misunderstood then. I thought you meant the origins of Nandos; which is South Africa, started by Portuguese South Africans, with a recipe mostly taken from Mozambique.
Hello Jay Focused Look at one of the best square in the world located in Addis abeba. The squer is called “Adewa Square” completed about 2 month ago. Adwa Square was built to commemorate the 128-year history of Ethiopia's victory over Italy. Adwa is the pride not only of Ethiopia but of Africa and the entire black people in the world. look at the area and judge it by yourself if I lie. There are many squares in Addis Ababa, but now Adwa Square breaks record. Try to uploading from Adwa square to Mexico Squer through cherchel road. Mexico square is not far from Adwa square, it is may be around 3 to 5 kilometer or lessthan 7 kilometer. I hope, you will enjoy and uploading it on your youtube channel.
I think the mall you have been is not the biggest mall in the city now and there is more than 6-7 cinemas across the city in a different location i guess.
Do you have a video where you talk about how you are able to afford to travel and live abroad for long periods of time? If not then do you mind sharing? I want to move my wife to South Africa and/or Windhoek until she can immigrate from Angola to the United States and that's going to take up to 3 years!
@@JayFocused It really is a disgrace. And as far as I can tell from what I have read and heard the US is the only country that does this type of treatment sadly. Thank you for all that you do. I'm going to try to save enough money to where I can quit my job and go visit her in different countries where the US dollar exchange rate is good and see her for at least a month at a time. That's why she and I are interested in Namibia and South Africa and why I asked you how do you afford to travel and stay over there. She's actually been to both Cape Town and Windhoek and loved both places.

Hello Jay Focused I want to remind you to look at one of the best beautiful square in the world called adwa square that located on central of Addis abeba. Adwa square connecting 5 main roads like Bole road that every one can reach all sides of Addis ababa. There are alote of constraction around adwa square. Adewa Square completed about 2 month ago. Adwa Square was built to commemorate the 128-year history of Ethiopia's victory over Italy. Adwa is the pride not only of Ethiopia but of Africa and the entire black people in the world. look at the area and judge it by yourself if I lie. @@solomonderese9311 yep, it is sad to see school aged children on the streets everyday. The gov is not doing anything about it, either. It almost has become a culture. Not all is because of poverty, btw. The Orthodox Christian tradition sees super righteousness in giving, and some of the children are actually egged on into begging

A total misleading info, do a reaserech before giving wrong info and fyi we have plenty of cinemas in addis and the hotel u stayed @ is the average priced which u can afored we have so many luxury places to visit and hangout, ok
Looks are deceiving.so many Ethiopians will confuse you for Ethiopian and try to speak to you in Amharic. When you tell them where you are from, they will still think you are lying.
😂😂😂, it's all relative. Compared to Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Jakarta Indonesia, and even Kampala, the traffic in Addis flows better, based on what I've seen.
Hahaha..Southern African cities are far less dense than Addis Ababa. Addis is a highly walkable city, so you are likely to have more street interactions.
@@JayFocused its true its a nonstop migratiom from other regions of Ethiopia into the city , they have completely fucked up the city by now they have taken over , its very dense and suffocating, I bet the city now has like 12 million ppl
