etho, you can filter out the baby pigmen, and the chickens, by making a water stream to push them out, but have the exit be one block tall so that the normal pigmen stay in the main chamber, then have a secondary chamber for the smaller mobs/animals.

Hey etho, the reason why the items came through the sorter is probably because another hopper was filled up so far, that the signal became 3 long. That way it powered the hopper next to it, so the items were able to flow through. To fix that, you have to put golden nuggets and something else in the same hopper ( or gold bars ofcourse). That way it can't overflow, and it won't cause any issues any more. (PLZ RATE THIS COMMENT SO ETHO SEES IT!)

You always seem to have a solution to problems you come across and are quite possibly the only youtuber to keep a vanilla minecraft series entertaining for over 300 episodes. Etho you sould try slabs on the hoppers where the zombie pigmen's crasher. Maybe then the mob's (chicken, little pigmen and pigmen) height will work fine with the pistone crasher. The items still go throw the slabs into the hoppers. an epic episode as always :D

For the gold farm, you should just be able to place slabs on the hoppers, then half of the baby Pigmen's heads are in the block and half of the normal Pigmen's heads are in the block, suffocating them both. Also, since it is a 1 1/2 block height to the top of the crushers, nothing can jump out.

I love how Etho complained about having to dig out the path, but didn't complain nearly as much digging out the entire PVP arena on the Mindcrack server...

I just had the same issue with my sorter. The issue is the back end, all that redstone that just barely gets lit up by the weak signal. If a bunch of items get into it all at once (like when you're testing it), the signals get stronger and activate their neighbors, emptying them out and wiping the sorting blocks.

You are the main reason I play minecraft and also have a happy new year :)

You should make like a pit with zombies to throw the bad villagers in, like in the walking dead.

It was last year in September when I was looking up a cheat for Poptropica (Don't Judge) I turned on RU-vid and on the side bar something said "Ethos Lab:Episode 247". I clicked it, and I knew what MC was cuz I played it on my phone, but I never saw the computer version. I watched it, and I liked it. Great episode again Etho ;) I loved it and the zombies are hilarious with their weird AI and the tunnel to the villager place has a very nice start i have really wanted a nice wide and big hallway that you make. The hall way could use some light but you can do that with glowstone or redstone lamps :) Really appreciate what you do for us

I know Etho wants his LP to be vanilla, but I think it would be a wise idea to get a resource pack that makes all the grass green, or atleast makes the desert grass green. One thing I hate about the grass colors is there's nothing you can do to change how they look, they're just there. Perhaps he can also get a clear glass texture pack, so you don't get that stuff inbetween the glass. Glass is supposed to be clear, not covered with white lines. Doing this would make working on his glass mob tubes so much easier. Other than this, all other textures would be the same. I know almost no LP that has always had a vanilla resource pack. Docm77 didn't always, and still here and there uses faithful, Bdoubleo still uses a resource pack, I'm pretty sure Beef used to, and I know for sure Generik used one. These are just my thoughts.

Every time I see a new "Ethos Plays Minecraft" video, I squeal a little bit o_o That's how good your videos are :D

To fix your crusher you just need a 1/2 slab on your hoppers, It will kill all mobs including chickens. Your crushing blocks just need to be at head height as they are in your crusher. For two high mobs 1/2 of their head will be in a full block and they will die, For one high mobs 1/2 their head will be in a full block and they will die. Job done.

Hey Etho. To fix the problem with baby pigmen not suffocationg just put a half slab on the hoppers they will still pick up items and suffocate the adults. (you might have to pur another set of pistons above your current setup) Hope this helps!

Unless they changed how hoppers work, they'll grab blocks through half slabs. Which means you can cover the bottom with that, and that'll crush the babies and chickens. You'll still need two, however, to crush the adults above. But nothing will jump to safety. It'd also be a nicer looking floor than hoppers.

I would NOT suggest killing the villager you were trading with in the blue house around 4:24, I myself have a perfect paper trader, and that guy, having gotten the books, the singular book, the bookshelf, the glass, the compass, and the clock, is worth having because that leaves him with the possibilities of: Enchanted book, Gold, And paper!!! though might be a emerald sink, if you get enchanted book, then gold, then paper, you'll have an infinite paper trader yourself, just like you probably had in 1.4. Just to let you know, Please do not kill him D:

I watch this series from the playlist and sometimes, on first viewing, I would fall asleep and miss parts of the cave being planned and built. I'd wake up and suddenly new hallway. So, this time, I'm trying to make sure to go back and find the eps I missed. It's interesting how the connections between parts of the cave get discovered and utilized.

Etho, you should build an armory with all your weapons, some anvils and armor stands, stuff like that.

Add pistons at the bottom and add a gate at the top like you do in a blaze farm.

Hey Etho the the reason that the item sorter isn't working is because when one of the sorters get a bunch of items it turns off the torches of the other sorters because the signal reaches them because of the comparator. A fix could be just putting a one block gap in between each sorter. P.S. your videos are awesome.

Also, for your Zombie Pig-man farm crusher, I think slabs on top of the hoppers would work fine, allowing the chickens, baby pig-men and adult pig-men get crushed.

YOu could always make a third teir to the crusher. Top blocks first move in to block off any jumping pigmen, and the bottom two move in, and crush the pigmen. Then retract.

You can avoid the problem of jumping zombie pigman with pistons both one and two high if you fit in a delay so the top pistons go off first and then the lower ones. Also, love the villager shenanigans.

Hey Etho When You Trade With A Villager It Unlocks The Next In A Long Line Of Trades And Getting The Bad Trades First Makes It So That The Last And Most Important Trade Isn't Bad. The Reason The Last Trade Is So Important Is Because When You Use It, It Unlocks All The Other Trades Again Making It An Infinite Trading Farm... :D

etho, this item sorting system you use on separating the drops of the zombie pigmen breaks when you have a sudden explosing of items rushing trough, because the comparators will also trigger the redstone lines besides them. that was all! great video i love your content.

Etho, your a brilliant minecraft player. Back in my days of alpha i had that issue due to my stubborn nature and wanting it to look a certain way. close the blocks above their heads, then 20 ticks later close the other blocks to suffocate them. As you know the top block will hold them down and the one second delay will trap any jumpers. :) Good luck mate.

EthosLab For the pigmen crusher you can push pistons above their heads (3 blocks from ground) from the side instead of the back to stop pigmen from jumping. Then you can easily implement the double height crusher. It would help if you also lowered the hoppers by one block and put soul sand where they currently are. It'd stop pigmen from moving and hoppers can still suck up drops. Also Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

Dear Etho, I had the same issue with the item sorters the other day. The issue is, that if you put something like a stack of items directly into the hopper containing the sample items, the signal strength will increase above 2, thus releasing all the neigboring items. Keep up the good work! hungyG

Etho, there's a simple way to fix the zombie farm to stop them from jumping. Just put a third piston on top of the crusher pistons to push the block in a split second before the other pistons trigger. That'll prevent them from jumping up.
