I'm a big fan of etrailer, they are a great company to buy from- but I've had this model load keeper for years and I hate the thing. You have to get the teeth in just the right location while you're holding the heavy thing in place and it usually takes 2 or 3 attempts to get it in just the right spot- one tooth too many and it's like a house jack on the sides of your bed- plus it pinches my hand on occasion when releasing the mechanism. I was actually looking for a new one when I ran across this video.
Check out the following cargo bar. It is very easy to use and has a ratcheting style tensioner on it. www.etrailer.com/Truck-Bed-Accessories/Erickson/08908.html
How much weight can this hold if used vertically to support some object like a cabinet? After all, everyone likes a versatile item. Are the feet swiveling or pivoting? Thanks, hope you can find out.
This is not recommended to be used to hang items from. The feet are going to have a pivot design to them. www.etrailer.com/Truck-Bed-Accessories/Heininger-Holdings/HE4015.html
It would depend on the type of car wash and what is in the bed of your truck. You would be safe with a touchless car wash if there was nothing in your bed except the stabilizer. www.etrailer.com/Truck-Bed-Accessories/Heininger-Holdings/HE4015.html
The bar is about 1 1/2" in diameter. This is a very stout stabilizer bar for holding back those heavier items. www.etrailer.com/Cargo-Bar/Heininger-Holdings/HE4015.html
