Richard Le There isn't a locking mechanism to secure the tray to the roof rack, but Kuat did take a security measure. The hardware used to secure the head of the tray to the crossbar uses some non-standard hardware, not a typical 6-sided Allen bolt. Unless the potential thief happens to have the right tool, the hardware isn't coming out.
