Etrian Odyssey III Super Arrange - Unrest: Their Own Brand of Justice 

I find this song unique from other RPGs. Either paths you take, there is a hint of tragedy between the royal family, and you know that you are forced to destroy either the king or the princess. Yet, the the tension and rythm fits perfectly. FTW!

Etrian Odyssey's morality is pretty damn grey most of the time and this is not including the brutal deaths some NPCS suffer. When they say the Labyrinth is death they MEAN IT

I think that the Progenitor was sensibly harder than either of them, but yeah. I really liked how they kept that extremely tragic element to it. It wasn't even a "oh, well it had to be done" kind of thing, because you knew full well that both of them could have been saved if you'd just done stuff a different way. The fact that it was legitimately your fault is what made it great.

Definitely, and it's too bad 4-- with all the potential for it-- didn't explore that vein a little more deeply. Although it was nice that the Outland Count was a no-ulterior-motives super-bro-- very refreshing to have him be the ultra good guy instead of the super-shifty, hiding-all-this-information typical politician. In fact, he might be one of the most righteous leaders in video games to date...

If this is the super arrange, I can't wait to hear the remix in the next Untold remake. It's going to be A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

You think so? There I was, the Deep King having told me she was being controlled, and her entire city is defending her. They've put me through this damn dungeon, full of monsters and horrifying traps, and at the end of it there's that smug brat who's been playing coy the whole game, that miserable old woman and the princess, that manipulative dredge. And all she's doing is smiling. Smiling like it's nothing. She knew what happened to monsters. She knew. Maybe she shouldn't have become one.

This is seriously one of the most catchy boss themes I've ever heard. EDIT: After the third time listening to this, I have determined that this is THE MOST catchy boss theme I've ever heard.

Hey, fair point. I did not agree with the Abyssal King's judgment, though, as he seemed to me to be the brainwashed one. Yggdrasil was telling him whatever he needed to hear to justify continuing on his course. The Princess seemed pretty sane to me, albeit losing control of herself as a result of the corruption that she accepted into herself in order to live long enough to find her brother. I mean, the whole corruption thing is bad and all, but she seemed lucid at the end there.

Someone must make a remake of Etrian Odyssey III Untold

Am I the only one who chose Kujura's side? I chose him because he didn't try to kill me like Olympia did. He wasn't that nice but he didn't come up in this piece like: Hey the deep city is at blah blah blah. And when I get there what do I see a bunch of freaking killer fishies!! And by the time I get back she's all like: WHAT THE ****! You're still alive?!! So she chops down a tree... A tree... Anyway, when I beat the crap out of Ketos, and made it to the point to where I need to side. I thought of that. At first I conflicted over it because they where trying to protect us. Then I thought well Kujura helped me and didn't try to kill me and Olympia killed like 3,000 explorers, then tried to kill me (after she smiled in my face) So after that I when on Kuji's side and I feel all special on the in side. Even though he's mocked me a couple of times I still think he's pretty awesome. ( I feel like something really bad is about happen soon though like he might die or worse... I'm on the fifth stratum,floor 18 I think, any new happen around there?)

Yeah, they were a little to blatant with Whirlwind/Logre, I thought, but I could appreciate the story of the game as a ncie little addition. The Count was pretty neat though, since he was just as excited to find out more about the past as anyone else.

The king was real hard because of that stat infliction spell he does. I beat the princess using a Swashbuckler, Defender, Zodiac, Prince, and Monk. Still, how many RPG games have the element of tragedy on a final boss? I can only think of this one...unless you count Etrian Odyssey I..but I think that much.

Man, the path where you kill the princess is the most horrendously depressing thing I've ever had a video game put me through. You just feel wretched after the act. At least with the king, you sort of had to put him down so that you could finish the job, if nothing else.

Meh, I think that it made sense enough. They didn't say all that much because they both blatantly wanted to use the explorers to their own ends. I mean, the Senatus kind of fails to tell you that everyone who got to the 2nd stratum died and whatnot as well. The King was pretty straightforward, though, but I just kind of figured that the Princess was ignorant to the realities of the deeper strata and whatnot. At any rate, I really liked the dual stories.

Kind of? One thing I didn't like about either side is how they fail to explain themselves terribly thoroughly to the explorers. It's a very basic overview and then 'explorurs pls' and you're expected to pick. Granted, in my opinion, Shogun has far more use than Yggdroid. Too bad. I guess I just didn't like how smug the princess acted, despite being largely absent. The Abyssal King is right there, you meet him and it's no BS, no hiding. Just, "Things suck. Let's un-suck them."

Mystery Dungeon's version of this song is shit compared with this.

I want to try out the Etrian Odyssey games but the brutal difficulty i hear people talking about puts me off not wanting to bother with it. Then again it's from Atlus and the bastards from that company likes to get off on people's tears.
