Composer: Yuzo Koshiro I always thought we heard too little of this theme back then, since it only played in the first two labyrinths. But at least it has made a very good comeback!
I hope it's not, because EO3 deserves a remaster the most! Imagine EOV's summoning line functionality in the one installment of the franchise that had the most summoning oriented classes!
@@Firellius I almost get the impression they really wanted to do that but without enough time in the 3DS's life they instead pumped out Nexus to give them a chance to bring a bunch of stuff from 3 in just in case they couldn't make the series move to a console without touch screen
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer Yup, it really feels like they did that (maybe if the 3DS lasted at least another 2 years we *could've* gotten EOU3) and I would understand. But don't you think we can get an Etrian Odyssey game on one screen instead of two? Don't you think it would really be possible? Or is that a pipe dream I'm selling???
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer I heard the Untold series didn't sell as well as Atlus hoped so maybe they canned the project to remake EO3 and went with Nexus instead.
This is one of those songs that just kinda hits you, like emotionally, idk I cant describe it to well, like you're confronted with something but know you can overcome it. Stupid and sappy as it sounds.
Exactly. This is precisely why the great lunx enemy was present in original EO3 You get confident in your fighting lesser enemies, this theme plays Great lynx ruins your party while this music plays You grow stronger and beat great lynxes with strategy, this theme plays. The game literally made you feel 3 different emotions of confidence, unexpected loss and reclaimed well-earned victory, all 3 with the same theme and player-game interaction.
Same here. I was shocked to hear the extra notes at the start on the preemptive version of this theme and how good they were. It truly made me want to get preemptive strikes all the time.
Makes me want to get preemptive strikes in Waterfall Woodlands all the time. This is the only video on RU-vid that has the preemptive version. Thank you for that.
I love how from 0:18 to 0:55 it sounds as a mix of the good ol' FM musical style with live instrumentation. The original one has always been one of my favorite battle tunes from EO, along with The End of the Raging Waves.
It's funny. I get this game a few days ago, and already I have fallen in love with this game. Even if I didn't like 4 too much, played a bit of Untold 1, completed Untold 2 and 5, and never played 3. This song, has to be my favorite part of this game so far!
Kyofu Kaze OMG I loved 4, my bro played 2 when I was young and when 4 came out I got and got to the 5th stratum in a few days but reset cuz I didn’t want the game to end
@@Sh1ranu1 Out of all the etrian games Mystery Dungeon and EO 4 is where most of my hours came into. Heck even played through its campaign over 5 times with different classes then comes Untold 2.
@@lucassworldofletsplays9270 It truly is unfortunate that we live in that particular timeline where EO3 Untold never was... life is simply unfair. And yet, there are realities where Nexus never came into existance so it kind of balances itself
@@AleXwern I never heard the themes outside of the game. For instance the last time i heard the first battle theme was more than 5 years ago. The fact that there is no untold version of EO III isn't for nothing.
@MagicalMajax Outside where? i think most of the all EO games are pretty underrated you wouldn't hear it unless from a fan. And the past new games (4 and 5) have had remix to EO3 Sea Boss theme (Raging Wave) so again what? And it not having an Untold 3 doesn't mean anything. It doesn't need its story retold especially compare to the first and sorta 2nd, didn't have much of story. And Nexus is pretty much Untold 3 but with MUCH MORE than just that and something new
They are not. And they are one of the best. This fight theme was the epitome of badass when EO3 released. Also the boss theme for that game (Hoist the sword...) it's probably one of the best in the saga.
I was the exact same fucking way with 4, Literally dident care for it too amazingly much because of how difficult it was, Getting bare stomped by 800 foot kangaroos by the bakers dozen, Literally never even opened the first gate for at least a year after downloading it- Finished it though after the frosty mountain the game really turned up the heat with the colliding crono cross scheem and the "faith is my pillar" is like my favorit battle ost on the planet next to the Lugor boss theme: Then I found this game...For some reason can only play it on hardmode and christ is this a machinica massacre.
