For real, who the fuck would look at that picture and think anything but "oh that's a cool picture of two characters looking sinister from a game where all the good guys look sinister"?
I don't even see how it's a spoiler now that i know that it is a spoiler. I have not finished the game yet but everybody and their grandma can tell that Akechi is bad news as soon as you meet him and it becomes clear that he is against the idea of the phantom thieves.
It's not even all that spoilery, to be honest - Akechi's only in some of the group art, not all; unlike everyone else; his family name's used in the Stats screen instead of his given name (in fact, unlike every other Phantom Thief, his given name is barely ever used outside of introductions); it's entirely possible to spot Akechi's pancake-related mistake long before the game points it out; his DLC costumes are all those of villainous characters, which admittedly not everyone will recognise; his Confidant levels up automatically, with all the battle skills unlocking all at once, unlike every other Phantom Thief; Robin Hood is weak to an element he uses (Curse), unlike every other Phantom Thief.
shadowagent his best friend Ryuji is a genius who is a researcher. Is other friend Ann is a beautiful manipulator who users her good looks and superb acting skills to seduce men to get evidence. Yuskuke is a sketch artist who draws horrible Skechers. Makoto is a local thug who has a few run insbwith Akira. Futaba is a famous celebrity known for throwing amazing parties but is also known for being an air head. Sojiro is successful businessman who has a famous chain of cafés around the world famous for selling tea and soup. Haru is a very poor girl who lived most of her life in poverty. It was only recently when Akira offered her a job and a place to stay.
Shit, I spoiled the whole game for myself before I ever played it and was still blown away by the story. Plot summaries just don't substitute for playing out the plot yourself.
So much this, I spoiled myself A TON since it was my first persona and I Wasn't sure about it... Didn't see the Pancake part coming, maxing confidant was awesome and alot of tidbits (Palaces Villains stories) are to huge to summarize !
Morgana: I'm useless :'( Joker: I need healing Ryuji: I need healing Ann: I need healing Yusuke: O! I hath been wounded! Help! A surgeon! Makoto: I need healing Futaba: MEEEEDIIIIIIIIIIC! Haru: Maybe you can help your friends with your multiple healing spells? Akechi: WTF I'm not supposed to be here yet
@IM Crow except it really doesn’t matter because the only one of the non-PT confidants who could even stop you to begin with would be Iwai or Yoshida, none of the others have anywhere near enough control or influence to do so. So it wouldn’t be that big of a worry even if they found out in the middle of the SL chain. Even then, most of them are reasonable, like Mishima is. Plus by the end of your confidant, they understand you better and agree not to tell anyway. Sorta like the ending of Spider-Man 2 in a way...
Morgana is actually a massive pussy looking back on it. Ryuji took it in stride and Makoto did something to change it, Morgana just ran off, tried to run you over, and put Haru in danger
As someone who had a coach who overworked his student athletes and even made some cry, defeating Kamoshida was one of the most satisfying things i've ever done in a video game. Edit: HE FINALLY GOT FIRED, GOOD RIDDANCE!
Phantom Thieves: *exist* Police: Yeah no, we're not gonna check the cards for fingerprints (Did that make anyone else furious, or is that just because I'm an assistant detective myself)
@@hydrusalphy4654 well they can use something like gloves or just a towal and go over the card to destroy the prints. We dont realy see wen and how they make them.
@@hydrusalphy4654 well to say the truth it makes me more angry that they LITERALY yeeeeellll in public that they are the PHANTOM THIEVES and one of theyr hiteouts is a puplic place were people walk by. I can some how, some were explain the prints so that it make some kind of sens like maybe Sae already tryed looking for prints but there werent any or she forgot becouse they found the leader of the thieves but these things with the yeeling and hiteout dont make ANY sens. So i find that the more infuriating part of the game. And sorry for my spelling im not an native english speaker.
People be like "OMG SPOILER ALERT ON THE TRAITOR" when the big twist wasn't who the traitor was... but how they executed their plan to combat them. It was no big secret who the traitor was, but it was a major shock to see how they figured out who it was and what the Thieves did about it. Ya pancakes.
I dunno how anyone would ever trust Akechi, the first thing he talks about when u meet him is how he believes the Phantom Thieves are criminals and should be arrested, and he talks about it every time he's on the news. He constantly reminds u that he hates u and sees u as a criminal :p
I don't think the picture even reflects his status as traitor, just as a rival -- or as a playable character if the one who sees this has reached Sae's Palace already.
Bosses in a nutshell: 1. BDSM NIGHTMARE 2. Mario's worst nightmare 3. A LITERAL GIANT PIGGY BANK 4. Furry's wet dream 5. Amazon 6. The girl you want but can't get 7. "PaNcAkes" 8. Bald dude that goes ssj4 9. God with a gun
RyanEX2000 i dunno, i get the impression Innocent Sin is more popular in Megaten fanbase, or at least more memorable/well known, partly for being untranslated for a while which eventually drew attention to both the fan translation and the PSP port, but probably because of the insane plot culminating to the appearance of a certain mustached man who shouted *_E S L E B E D E U T S C H L A N D_* once I could be wrong though, and Ill leave discussion of which one's the better part of P2 to other people >.>
@Cali nah, akechi GORO is based off akechi KOGORO, the most famous fictional Japanese detective , it was pretty obvious lol, he is even against "arsene" lupin in some movies *wink *wink
The hero's hands are stained in blood, from a crime he did not commit... The traitor's hands are black, seemingly clean yet the most filthy of them all, as such his personality...
I suppose that’s how the masses viewed both characters, and might’ve been the artist’s intentions. I think they were trying to depict the in-game characters’ cognitions of Rn & Akechi. Even just the cognition of the students at Shujin, they view Ren as a monster due to his criminal record, and Akechi as being all put together as the ace detective prince.
@iytdominotikIt's a Japan thing. The whole reason Shido didn't pursue a more serious penalty than a year's probation is because that was enough to ruin Joker's life.

Anon playing the game on hardest difficulty without doing more then half of mementos requests you will not win that final boss some people just made it to the end not strong enough
@@Astinol Ahh that was so emotional. Honestly I had to hold back tears because I couldn't even think of hurting Haru after all she's done for me (letting me stay in her coffee shop's attic, introducing me to futaba etc)
Kamoshoda: I'm allowed to do whatever the hell I want!! Madarame: I'll... I'll... I'll paint all over you!! Kaneshiro: Yahahahaha!! You ready to die?!? Wakaba: Do not approach the Pharaoh's tomb!! Okumura: You little...! You won't get out alive!! Sae Niijima: Let's do this fair and square!! Akechi: I won't let you stop me...!
Shido: I will offer proof... by forcefully crushing the Phantom Thieves. Yaldabaoth: Now that the foolishness of man has been proven, it is the administrator's duty to purge them.
@@satomisanada3886 That's kind of the whole point....Sae is pissed off that she tried to work hard and be an honest woman all her life, but other corrupted people just cheat and bribed their way to positions equal to her or even higher than her. So she secretly wishes she can do the same

When Akechi says "eat this" in his boss battle before he launches an attack, I always imagine Joker throwing a stack of pancakes at Akechi to spite him for his mistake. Akechi eats the pancakes casually then launches Megidolaon and Futaba has to use Final Guard for Joker because he's laughing too hard.
With Joker being announced as a DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, I hope this music is in the game. EDIT: Damn, it didn't make it. Still happy Joker's in the game, though!
this and Jaldabaoth, I know not many people like the final boss theme for 5 compared with others but there are a couple stages it would go well with. So I hope both could make it.
Damn, I'm oblivious as fuck. People kept talking about "spoilers" and "traitors" and I had no idea what they meant until I actually got to that part of the game.
Me: *fights kamoshida* me: dont hit joker dont hit joker dont hit joker... kamoshida: *hits joker* me: *pulls out Izanagi-no-okami picaro* You have Yee'd your last haw
And here I thought "Battle for Everyone Souls" was Shoji Meguro's crowning achievement. Glad to see he still very much got it. Well done, sir. Well done.

WHO WOULD WIN: A powerful Persona user who assassinates people through supernatural means, is a wild card, and has 2 years of prep time or fucking pancakes
I know that here are a lot of spoilers but i know what the game is about, the characters, the social links, it's kinda like i played the game but not yet
Anna Delight yeah I understand. I usually go to the comments (sometimes while I haven't necessarily beat the game to its conclusion) to find out if people are enjoying the game as much as I am. It kinda sucks when certain parts get spoiled for me. But I guess its my own fault.
Same. The first time I listened to this soundtrack I was mindblown... 🤯 Kickin' that perverted teacher's butt made me so satisfied. I can relate this. 😅
"Class is in session!" "Now, let's begin, you vermin!" "Being young is such a crime! They're naive, they're reckless, and they don't even realize how stupid they are!" "DO NOT APPROACH THE PHARAOH'S TOMB! MISFORTUNE WILL FALL ON YOU!" "Behold the power of Okumura foods!"
*SPOILERS BELOW? IDK. DEFINITELY PANCAKES THO* *Persona 3:* In the end, evil is defeated due to one's realization of his purpose in life, thus transcending death. *Persona 4:* In the end, evil is defeated due the curiosity of humanity and the wits of our heroes. Also, save scumming. *Persona 5:* In the end, evil is defeated due to the deliciousness of pancakes.
On a more serious note [Spoilers] Evil is defeated because of the diligent few who dared to defy the god who feeds on humanity's apathy and sloth. The pancakes were just the beginning. dun dun dun.

You know what a way better twist would be? If the protagonist just switched at some of the game and you slip into the role of the antagonist, realizing you played the bad guy for the first half of the game.
Rogan Leonard you just stole my thoughts, that's just what I was gonna comment. And I think Tales of the Abyss kinda does that in its own way. Not straightforward evil, but you kinda set the stage for the world's demise on the first 30 hours or so of gameplay.
Man, that fight with Shadow Haru was crazy. Can't believe she did a triple German Surplex on Ryuji and then suffocated him with a pillow after she had knocked him out.
I️ cried tears of joy during the Okumura boss fight when Futaba came down and gave my party full stat buffs after a Big Bang burger challenge attack. One of my most memorable moments in any game after beating him. What an amazing soundtrack to get you in the zone. Such a phenomenal game
This is why best girl deserves all the head pats. And she's also the first persona support character that doesn't make me wanna agidyne myself everytime she talks during battles. If you cheat on her during valentines day, then you are definitely in need of the phantom thieves stealing your heart.
Definitely my favorite theme. I always get so hyped when this happens, especially when you have a seething hate for the boss. My brother kept looking at me like a crazy person because I would vocalize all my moves in game. (I got really sucked into it. Yes I know I'm weird)
My favorite thing about the palace shadows is how they are literally sins! Kamoshida’s LUSTFUL Castle Madarame’s Museum of VANITY Kaneshiro’s GLUTTONOUS Bank Futaba’s SLOTHFUL Pyramid of WRATH Okumura’s GREEDY Space Factory Sae’s Casino of ENVY Shido’s PRIDEFUL Cruise ship
Hearing the commenter "When the villains. . .in nicely" makes me realize that's not a joke. That's the REASON this is called Blooming Villain. In their past, a seed of villainy was planted, took roots, and sprouted into a Palace. At the heart of it all, a flower blooms- the Shadow who calls this place their home.
This song is so perfect for boss fights. By the time you get to them they've done so much heinous shit...and then plays and you just feel like. JOKER......BEAT. HIS. ASS.
i love the emotions this song envokes. like you have been pushed to your breaking point, and now you have to decide. its that quintessential moment that this song conveys, deciding to stand up for yourself, feel the weight of the world on your shoulders, and finally realize you can bear it, and so much more.
No, Atlus isn't trying to tell you anything, it was pure coincidence. Goro Akechi was named as a nod to one of Japan's oldest fictional detectives, Kogoro Akechi (so yeah, less a nod and almost a literal rip-off). Kogoro Akechi was basically the Sherlock Holmes of Japan's detective novels genre, a fitting nod considering who the protagonist's banner Persona is (Arséne Lupin, eternal rival of Sherlock Holmes).
In addition, they are both detectives that are rather bored with their jobs, their first names rhyme, they're both secretly murderers, and they're both pawns in a larger scheme.
@@LeonGun8 Wait... a detective named Kogoro? So, that means Kogoro Mori from Detective Conan is named after a famous (albeit fictional) detective? Clever.
Kogoro Mori is indeed named after Kogoro AKechi. In fact, he's named after Kogoro Akechi AND novelist Maurice Leblanc (the Mouri part is taken from Maurice). Leblanc is the writer of the Arsene Lupin novels.
The thing I like about this theme is how it makes you feel like your hard work will pay off, that your gonna show the boss how things are done. Like, it also has a level of power that says: this is it, the final fight.
This track has the perfect contrast switch from tense and building up, to a soaring heroic lead guitar for the chorus. Man, it's just a great composition.
