Awesome! Thanks Cassiy! I purchased subscriptions to all sunsets and the patriotic version a few weeks ago. Can't wait to dig into to them! Thanks for suggesting them!😊
Hi Cassiy, Thanks for all the great videos & for going over each topic you cover so thoroughly! I'm new to print on demand and I'm having a little trouble putting together my daily workflow. I was wondering if you could share your own daily workflow in a video, as a guide for us. Thanks again for your valuable guidance! 😀
So glad you have been enjoying my videos Ryan, really appreciate you supporting my new little channel! Congrats on getting started, that's a lot further than most people get so bravo! As for workflow, I will have to make a video on this sometime for sure! My best advice to you right now is to only focus on the things that are going to actually move your business forward. A lot of people spend tons of time looking at favorites, at their stats, how many people have their items in the cart etc. But none of those actually move you forward. Try to pick ONE thing to focus on at a time. Making a list of best selling designs to make, then making those designs, then doing the SEO, then mocks and then listing them.
Hi Thank you so much for all your help!! I love all your video's! Do you have or can you do a video about graphic placement? For example the 3 graphics sort of under the neckline, and the pocket design.. I have been playing with Canva rulers but not sure what measurments for these designs are. TY!!!! I feel like I just dont know how big to make graphics in general when doing from scratch..
So glad you're enjoying my videos! I'm not sure the best way to make the video for you, I just eyeball it each time and then look at the preview to see if it looks nice. Try comparing to where other shops put designs on their shirts. I always put designs up all the way at the top!
Hey girl, thank you for your kind words! I'd say t-shirt designing isn't as much about "finding your own style" as it is, learning how to make designs that are already trending. Don't feel like you need to recreate the wheel, just use elements of designs that people are already looking for and are already successful to make something new and unique! A text layout like one shirt with the colors from a different shirt etc. You can make the cutest design in the world, but if its not what is trendy RIGHT NOW, then it might not sell. Hope that makes sense! I do this a lot by seeing cute designs in one niche and making something sort of similar but using it in different niches.
Yay! Thank you so much I have been wondering about being able to erase things in Canva, I thought I heard you mention it before but I definitely forgot.
So glad you liked that one Cindy! It doesn't work with most Canva graphics but if you save them alone as a png and then add it as a new graphic, you could probably get it to work with most things!
Thank you! I didn’t know about the erase tool in the remove background feature. That will save me lots of time it took to port the design to another app to erase things :D
So glad that will help you! Sometimes you have to save canva graphics and then reupload them as a normal png to get it to work but it usually works great!
Loved it! Thank you for the great inspiration! Do you have a video of your favorite fonts? If not, would you consider creating a best selling or favorite font video?
I don't have one in specific about just fonts yet but in the meantime here is a video Made about making designs in general and I share lots of my favs in it! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-johQkeJrBds.html
How often does someone ask you to do a shirt in a different color than what you are offering on the listing? And what color/s are requested the most often?
Pretty much never actually, most people just buy the colors I put them in. My best selling Colors are White, Athletic Heather, Black, Heather Peach, Heather Mauve and Maroon
@@lululemonbar9110 Hi Lulu! No I don't, I am looking for start a membership group though soon where you would pay $39/month to be in a group with me and other Etsy sellers and we would do a few zoom calls per month. If you are interested in getting info on it once I iron out the details, feel free to email me at shirtifiedhustler@gmail.com.
Hi Cassiy, thank you for all the great videos and advice you give. Since subscribing to your channel you have made things a lot easier for me with my new print on demand shop and I really appreciate it. I decided to also open a digital shop and I used your 40 free listings link (thank you) I see however that Etsy are charging me for the listings regardless which I have queried with them. I am just wondering if you perhaps know why this has happened? do these offers expire after a certain period? Thank you, Niki
I think you may only be able to use the 40 free listings if this is your first ever time opening a shop, it may not be available if you are opening a second one but I'm not sure! Sorry you didn't get the free listings but maybe Etsy can fix that for you!
Hello! I make my canvas 4500 x 5400 pixels or you can make it 5000 x 5000 pixels. But no I don't upgrade anything, if you make it this size, it will be great quality!
How do you know the Best font size to use? I was making desgins last night for the 1st time and biggest i went was 250 and it lookee good on the mock shirt.
I haven’t seen it in your videos yet, but wondered what way you go about watermarking your files so others don’t take and sell for their own or use on their mockup designs!?
Great question, watermarks don't look very nice so I just don't use them. People are going to steal your designs wether you watermark them or not. It's unfortunately just part of selling print on demand.
@@CassiyJohnson I currently sell SVG files and digital prints, but wanted to get into the POD category so I was just curious! It is just frustrating when you see someone buy your file and then repost it as their own 🙄
@@nursereef1512 There unfortunately are theirs out there no matter what you do. I have had people steal designs right off my shirts and then start selling them to other people. I try not to pay too much attention to it because Etsy doesn't have a good enough system to stop them so its not worth my time in my opinion to waste any time stressing about it! Sorry that's happening to you though! Make sure to watermark your svgs because some people just steal them right from your listing without purchasing.
The canva erase tip hack!! Thank you SO much!! Any ideas as to why my newly opened shop would make 25 sales and then all of the sudden dip and make no sales and hardly any views at all for several almost a week? I'm beating my shipping times, and have 4 good reviews so far. Any advice would be so appreciated.
So glad you enjoyed that tip Ashley!! As for sales, sometimes things are just slow, this week has been a little slow for me as well. My best advice is to just always be looking forward and living in the future to try to be ready for the next wave. Your first year is going to be a rollercoaster, but the second year when you have designs for the whole year it gets more consistent. But if you try to be early to things you will have a better time. Nothing sells all year round almost so focus on having 50% trendy/evergreen niches so stuff that can sell whenever (funny shirts, random niches like plants/cats/professions etc) and 50% holidays and seasons. Eventually you have Workout Stuff, Valentines, St Patricks, Mardi Gras, Cinco De Mayo, 4th Of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Bachelorette Party, Birthday Parties, Family Vacations and lots of other niches so then you eventually get really consistent sales because you are ready for every occasion and every holiday. So try not to stress about the slow days that WILL come no matter what you do, just have hard skin and be always looking forward getting ready for the next thing instead of wasting time looking at the past
On the Etsy Handmade policies page they say people cannot use stock photography or designs for their design. Does that mean if I use creative assets or graphics from placeit or Canva I can get my shop booted?
Beyond using art boards at a specific dimension (4500x5400) do you focus on dpi? The dpi of my images when I upload is always an odd number like 351, for example, instead of simply 300dpi. I’ve heard this can affect the printing process and possibly cause errors with the machines. What is your experience with this? Are your designs exactly 300 or do they differ based on how they download from Canva? Thanks!
Hi Cassiy Thanks again for a great video. I have learned so much by watching them. I have a question about ordering samples from the POD suppliers. How many samples do you suggest ordering of your different designs? I certainly wouldn't be able to order a sample of each one of my designs. I am curious what you do. Thank you
Great questions Kay! I actually didn't order ANY samples when I started. I probably ordered my first item months in. So its definitely not necessary in my opinion but I'd order something for someone you love that has a birthday coming up since its a good excuse and a good deal on a gift! I did recently do a review video on 8 shirts ordered from Printify so feel free to check that out in the meantime and I have some review videos coming up of tote bags, tanks and mugs in the next few weeks! Thanks for supporting my new little channel!
@@CassiyJohnson That's good to know. Thank you for the information! I will be sure to check out the Printify review video and really looking forward to the tote bag review. I hope to sell totes in my shop as well. Thank you Cassiy! I really appreciate all you share on your channel.
Hi Cassiy, thank you so much for your great channel. I have a question for you. I recently opened an Etsy store for printable products, I want to get into the tshirt selling as well. I'm just not sure if it's a better idea to open another store for the tshirts or sell them on the same store as the printables. I appreciate your feedback.
Etsy is a search engine based website so for most things, people search the search bar for what they want, look through the results and buy without ever going into your shop. So I'd say you are probably totally fine to keep them in the same shop! However, if you think it would be confusing for your customers, then maybe go ahead and have them separate. And if you do separate stores, then I just keep my digital download store logged in in Chrome and my T-shirt shop logged in in Safari so I can easily switch back and forth anytime I need!
So glad you enjoyed it! Halloween I will probably start preparing in July and Christmas I usually start in August/September. I'm actually about to release a video tomorrow all about being prepared for holidays so make sure to check that one out!
Hey Cassiy...do you have any insight on this....I was just able to watch this video today, and I went to go purchase the AllSunsets subscription for the year and it looks like it is currently $45/year! I think you said in the video it was $35/year. And I just looked back in my notes and I saw that when I looked it up a couple of months ago, when I first learned about this website, it was $30/year. I didn't buy it then unfortunately. Does this sound correct? Do you know if there are sales on this? If so, I'll wait, otherwise I guess I better buy it soon at $45 before it goes up again! Thanks for all of your insight! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!
HI Nat! Sorry they must have raised their prices, wouldn't hurt to reach out to them and see if they are going to lower it again or run a sale soon, never hurts to ask!
@@CassiyJohnson Thanks for getting back to me! Thanks for your suggestion...makes more sense to ask them about their prices, not you! haha :) I just looked all through their website but there isn't a phone number or email for them. Do you have either? If not, no worries, and I'll just sign up for $45. Thanks again!
Hi Cassiy. I checked especially Adventure Awaits for a trademark. There is a few registered with this name but not for clothes or png, svg files. Is this a problem to publish it with this name?
So I just rechecked the last one on the list for "Adventure Awaits" and it is trademarked for "Clothing" it doesn't specifically say shirts though so it's hard to say. I usually avoid posting designs with sayings that are even borderline just in case. Sorry should have checked these sayings for trademarks, just were examples and thinking of ones I had seen on the fly!
@@loliloli7168 Ahh ok! It is definitely a good mix of both technical and designing. Without good SEO skills, then no one will see your designs, but without good designs, it doesn't matter how many people see your shirts, they might not buy them. But the technical stuff is all super simple and I have done step by step tutorials for a lot of it so that should help!
Yes I sell quite a few mugs, I think over 600 last year. Mugs are great for professions especially! People like to buy them as graduation gifts. I'm doing a review video soon but my favorite mug so far is the Mylocker brand white mug on Printify! They package them really nice so they never come broken (unlike some other companies) and the print is always great!
@@CassiyJohnson like how you would start a design using a creative fabrica design and making it your own. Give examples of how you have used and incorporated it in your designs…
Hi Nichole! I do not yet have a mentorship but I am considering doing either a mentorship or a membership program in the next few months here! Anything particular you are hoping to get out of a mentorship? I'd love to hear your feedback or ideas!
@@CassiyJohnson oh Cassidy everything. I have a 2 year old and want to spend more time with her. I haven't started yet because i am so afraid of failing🤦. Just some guidance on how to get things going.
@@nicholewalmsley5819 Totally understand, it can feel like a lot! But just take it in tiny steps. For today, why don't you just open your Etsy shop and open your printify account and connect them? Once you go to printify, it will walk you through the steps. Then now next time you are ready to work on it, it will be just a little bit easier
