As long as you have two vassals, you can take the privilege, and you will keep that privilege even if you get rid of one of those two vassals. You can have the privilege with only one vassal as long as you had two vassals when you took it.

It is good unless Lithuania makes an alliance with Novgorod. Then you have to restart or suffer a lot.

@@PavelQuiteGood Poland did the craziest shit and went to join the holy Roman empire for me. Making Lithuania very annoying with taking the tiny nations near them and kicking crimea. Hungary went and killed Austria. Allowing the ottomans to join in on the fun. Making the ottomans blob and then kick Hungary's ass. I was just there as Muscovy struggling to pay off my debt while watching all of this happen lol

What did you do for coalition to form while you have -85% AE?

@@mihailostepanovic3676 separate peace and take lands from Muslim nations without claims. Wars are pretty easy, but lots of AE. Also you do not get -85% AE right away - it takes time to reach that point.

@@mihailostepanovic3676 Annexed half of Europe. It was England, France, Spain, Tuscany and their colonies. I basically made NATO a few centuries early. Although soon after the coalition was no more. I had over a million troops in the field. They numbered 700k. I probably could have avoided the coalition forming if I had dismantled the HRE rather than attack its members constantly. I really did it just for the we bleed for this achievement.

That was how I started EU4 as well. What worked for me is to have smaller goals, try playing tall, going colonial. Ease into the game and you will lose that "tiredness".

It's better to crush the commonwealth early before they get powerful enough to be a roadblock. You can get other allies such as Austria to crush the ottomans

the hordes would be disloyal as you vassalize them, but that only be done if the lost a bunch of land, as to do cheap reconquest wars, and by returning cores, time passing, and just being bigger will lower their disloyalty. also they can declare independence until the truce expires, so them being disloyal isn't the biggest issue when you first vassalize them

Supremacy Over the Crown makes managing your estates much easier. Should be your choice every time.

Supremacy over crown gives all three estates a +10 loyalty, making it easier to reach 50 loyalty and take land while also if you wanna revoke privileges you only need to revoke one, not 3

Religious-Quantity-Trade is a waste for Russia. Religious is a good pick. Trade is unnecessary because you can just TC land to get merchants (once you start expanding into Central Asia and Siberia). Aristocratic is better than Quantity because of the following bonuses: * -20% cav cost (you are broke early game) * +15% cav combat ability (nice to combine with Cossack units) * -10% mil tech cost (saves you mil points for slackening or devving manpower) * -5% dev cost (you'll be devving institutions) * +1 diplomat (very nice while you're a duchy) * -10% general cost (saves you mil points while slackening) * +1 leader siege (one of the only ways to get this in the game) The only real cost is only getting +15% manpower compared to +25% from Quantity, but you get +33% manpower and +50% force limit from national ideas anyway so you don't need Quantity. The meta idea groups for Muscovy into Russia IMO is some combination of Religious, Aristo and either Diplo or Espionage as the first 3 idea groups, then Admin, Influence (or Diplo if you took Espionage earlier) and Offensive, with the last 2 spots being free (Quality and the third one of Diplo/Espionage/Influence are good picks)

@@psychic_beth MP is still king and aristo do literally nothing for Muscovy You aren't broke as Muscovy, more like you earn about 150 ducats by 1500 Take quantity and get yourself quality and quantity

@@Rosemarie_and_tomato Aristo makes miltech, generals and devving cheaper, that alone makes it better than other military idea groups since it saves you mana, and gives you more manpower and leader siege. Of course you probably don't need any military groups as Russia to begin with (Religious, Admin, Diplo, Influence as the first 4 is a good setup) but if you really want to take one, Offensive and Aristo are top 2, with Quality also good to have later in the game. My main point is that Quantity is a wasted idea group since Aristo gives you almost as much manpower while saving you MP. Quantity is only worth taking if you are a small nation that needs forcelimit

Also, wouldn't it be better to take Trade 'after' you had the trade income for it to improve? I usually take that one 4th or later. Earlier game you'd think a military idea or innovative, or maybe economic? Or something vassal related if it needs to be diplo.

The Russian (not moscovite ) ideas gives you an exclusive mechanic to do the colonization

@@camilomrtn7541 In my game I got the Russian idea that gives you the special mechanic, but it doesn’t provide colonists. It says I can discover new territories by colonizing adjacent ones though. Is the Russian colonization idea supposed to give you +1 colonists? I’m wondering if my game is glitched or maybe they changed this feature in the last update…

@@camilomrtn7541 Also is there usually another way in general to discover terra incognita other than using conquistadors/explorers or stealing maps with espionage? I’m in like 1550 and most of Asia east and south of Nogai is still incognita for me. In EU3 I know that knowledge would spread after 50 years since a province was first discovered but seems like this isn’t the way EU4 does it.

@@Ethan-fh9lq maybe you are not using the idea, it is quite simple, look for the territories that are next to your border and are able to be used by the colonist, then click on the province, you should see a picture of a man with beard click on him and the province will start the colonization process. About the Exploration issue, as soon as the colony reach the 100% the nearby province will lose the fog

@@notepic6242 If one would care only about WC than indeed. I don't though and never will. Just wanted historical Russia and achievement of owning Kamchatka by 1600. PUs actually helped me preserve admin points for coring horde and ottoman(crimea) provinces, all while Tver and Ryazan were helping with sieging provinces.
