You get Urban as a military advisor with level 2 with 25% costs. Don’t hire a military advisor at the start of a game😉😉😉

Alright some tips not mentioned in the video for the Ottomans. You may not think you need extra tips, since the Ottomans are so powerful and they're so noob friendly, but trust me, you may get surprised. 1: The First thing you should ask yourself when playing as the Ottomans is very simple. How long do you plan to play? That sounds irrelevant, but it is. If you are only planning to play until around 1600ish then this isn't really that big of a deal. HOWEVER, if you plan to play the Ottomans deep into the Age of Absolutism or beyond, then you need to change the way you plan to play. If you are familiar with the End of the Cycle from Stellaris, then the Ottomans have a very similar playstyle. For those unfamiliar, the End of the Cycle gives you absolutely insane production, research and military buffs for 50 years (a very long time in that game). HOWEVER, at the end of that time period, you lose everything and your empire gets reduced to a small one planet system and everyone hates you. That's how the Decadence system for the Ottomans works. For the first 200 so odd years of the game, you are practically a god. I've faced the entirety of Europe as a coalition and they never declared on me because they didn't think they could win. But, without proper preparation, your game practically ends at the beginning of the Age of Absolutism. At 100% Decadence, you receive: +100% Idea/Tech group cost, -50% Fort Defense, -50% Siege Ability. There's a couple of others but those are the big ones. 2: The Internal Power Struggle, and the 4 disasters that will almost always fire alongside of and are enabled by it, is probably the worst disaster in the game. It is meant to mirror the events that caused the fall of the Ottoman Empire IRL (or rather it's severe decline), and it will absolutely cripple your nation. You may think that isn't a big deal, even the biggest disasters are pretty easy to deal with right? Only the Crisis of the Ming Dynasty and the Dominance of the Eunuchs disasters are really that bad right? Wrong. The Internal Power Struggle, when it fires, will open up a new branch of your Mission Tree that you have to complete in order to end the disaster. The Disaster can only end if you complete those missions (4 for each disaster or so) or if you lose the Ottoman Government type. The game will not tell you these requirements prior to you entering the disaster. 2A: The Plot of the Harem disaster requires you to have the Court Idea Group completed to take the final mission of the disaster, in addition to having a ruler who has 15 or more skill points so a minimum 5/5/5 ruler. This is perhaps the most difficult and annoying disaster to end because even with Dynastic Administration Reform and Court Ideas completed, you are still only guaranteed a 1/1/0 ruler at minimum. It is completely RNG if you can get out of this or not. 2B:The Disloyal Eyalets disaster requires you to own the entire region of Persia either directly or as an Eyalet. You can softlock yourself into not being able to complete this disaster if you don't conquer Persia before it fires, as good luck fighting a war with -50% Fort Defense or sieging anything down with -50% Siege Ability. 2C: The Janissary Coup Disaster requires you to have 2 Military Idea Groups completed and significant professionalism or very high military tradition to end. You lose 100% Army professionalism at the beginning of the disaster and you also need to have no corruption. If you choose to fight the Janissaries, you will have access to the Mansure Army reform which gives you a bunch of buffs and also switches you to Western Mil tech units. 2D: The Corrupt Pashas disaster requires you to either have no Pashas assigned OR to have 125 provinces assigned to Pashas while also having no provinces with the "Pasha Removed" modifier. 2E: All of the disasters require you to have been in the Internal Power Struggle for at least 3 years and to have been in each respective disaster 5 years. Minimum 8 Years. The Easiest way to mitigate how badly the disaster hits you is to take Court Ideas, 2 military idea groups, and to have conquered the Persia region while having no Pashas assigned prior to the disaster firing. The AI does cheese this disaster and it is pretty rare to see them get hit by the Internal Power Struggle now. 3: However, if you are not planning on playing past the Age of Reformation, then fuck it. Go as hard as you want. Diplo/Admin start, followed up by Offensive or Quality and just fight the world until you are satisfied or the Internal Power Struggle hits. 4: Early game manpower management is key and one of the reasons you want Eyalets and tons of them. Rarely will I contradict what Red Hawk says about something, but in this case, it is more beneficial to have a bunch of small Eyalets than it is to have one big one. Especially since it becomes very difficult to convert them to Core Eyalets once they get above 150 dev. The only times you should want a huge Eyalet is in the cases where the Mission Tree lets you convert them to Core Eyalets instantly, like Tunis/Egypt/Hungary. You can, of course, take Quantity, but you don't need it if you exploit the Eyalet system correctly. 5: You can convert normal vassals into Eyalets and its much better even though it does delay your ability to annex them. Eyalets function like pseudo-allies, and they CAN be separate peaced. There used to be an exploit where you could take well beyond 100% warscore via your Eyalets, but I don't know if you can do that anymore. Also, don't Divert Trade with Eyalets, especially Core Eyalets, they already give you so much income that you don't need it, all it ends up doing is giving them 30% liberty desire for nothing. 6: You get some pretty crazy buffs and reforms at the end of your Mission tree, but it can take ALOT of planning to get there. Like one of the missions requires you to have done 4 agendas for every estate, and at one diet every 10 years, that's something like 160+ years to complete. This is mitigated by Court Ideas a little, which reduces the cooldown of Estate Interactions and you should be taking them anyway if you want to play beyond the Age of Blob simulation, but it can feel like a waste to take them. Similarly, you can get a second Golden Age if you Unite Islam. 7: Don't fear the Janissaries. Use them, exploit them, do whatever with them. Janissaries get a bonus to assaulting forts, and early game, this is very key to rapid expansion. An army with Janissaries in it will be able to take down a fort they otherwise would not have been able too via assaulting but make sure you don't accidentally use an army with no Janissaries in it otherwise you are just wasting manpower and will likely fail to take the fort. 8: Eyalets do not count as a land border for coring purposes if your capital is not on the same continent as them. This is a big one as getting a massive Eyalet like Egypt can effectively wall you out of being able to conquer more land in certain directions for yourself. Since Constantinople is considered a European province, this means that when you are conquering areas like Persia, your Core Eyalets, who cannot be called into war, and cannot be given provinces in a war though their claims and cores can be used to declare war, can effectively wall you out of being able to conquer beyond them. 9: It may be tempting, but don't take Influence ideas. Yes, the modifiers to Vassal force limit and tax do affect Eyalets, yes it is very powerful. But then you get the Disloyal Eyalets disaster and suddenly you go bankrupt since that disaster causes you to no longer receive income from Eyalets even if they are loyal.

I always like to play with the long game in mind when I play as the Ottomans. I start by guaranteeing Granada and trying to vassalize Fezzan (need to take Crete to be lower the distance modifier), quickly conquering Byzantium and the Turkish bayliks, attacking Trebizond and Circassia (less chance of Muscovite intervention) and warning Muscovy against the Hordes, and then attacking Hungary. This way future great powers and/or small hurdle countries become less of a threat - namely Spain, Russia, Austria, the Commonwealth and Tunis. I also like to ally France and/or Bohemia at the start to also dissuade their neighbours/my rivals from trying anything.

Ive done it similar in the past but lately for every action there is an over the top counter action. Just got 1.35 and gonna hammer away at the "new" ottos but last time i played i spread my influence in a similar manner and ended up with a spain and austria super power in the west and a monster ming with a nearly equally imposing timurids in the east. That was early as well. Then i figured id go france. Went super well until 1650. Im theoretically on track for a WC but im now locked against an alliance of the most unholy combination of enemies that have an army nearly 3 million strong. i can beat them. i can play the diplo game and lessen their forces but i really cba with the insane AI stuff. I mean i realize the game is fighting you but there should be some form of sanity and reason behind it. I just start over i think i finish one in 20 games. Those games where you get that flow and you achieve a breakout of sorts. Id like to see more guides from games for the mid stuff. When the dumbass alliances the AI spawns to mess with you or in some countries when its near impossible to not have to deal with a few hundred million rebels. In fact ive played games where i counted the rebels and when the game produces more rebels than the countries had people, historically. Then you know the game needs an overhaul. Sorry for the rant.

I guess the buff is for making the Ottomans historically more accurate. Mehmet the Conquerer had the guns while they were sieging Constantinople and in the game u had to siege it without guns, they also balanced sieging by changing "siege ability" to "leader siege". And Sultan Selim annexed the Mamluks in a single war, so now it's possible to make the Mamluks an Eyalet in a single war, not exactly historically accurate but close😂 I think the Ottomans are a really underrated empire, the buff looks not fair but it is.

34:28 You probably knew this, but you didn't mention it. It is important that YOU siege down Cairo to get the event. So, just like you did, don't call in allies until after you get the siege. It would be really shitty if you called in some ally, you mess up a battle, and your ally sieges down Cairo. I'm not 100% sure, but I think this also is true for vassals, so if you have vassals, tell them to take a nap until after you siege down Cairo.

super video, i love your guides and i also like to watch the other formats very often an idea for a slightly different guide would be a kind of "basics", in which you explain basic mechanics that are not self-evident. so not a guide for beginners but for advanced players. for example, in which situation does which army composition make sense? or a few impressions of how you think in situations that occur frequently and which modifiers you then look for in order to make decisions. management of admin/diplo and mil points for example. a bit hard to formulate and probably even harder to summarize in a video, but getting something like that would be worth its weight in gold :)

In this case, I recommend you wait for Hungary to be attacked by a PU cb. Actually this case is a LOT better than only invading Hungary. You click the mission "while" they are being invaded. But if the war is over and Hungary is already under PU, its doesn't work. After you do such thing, when Hungary is PU'ed by Austria but you have cb, you can declare war on "Hungary" with that unique cb. After the war, actually you will make Austria an eyalet, not Hungary. But the casus belli of invasion of Hungary still do exists, so you can make Hungary eyalet again with another war. So, you can both make Austria and Hungary eyalet in this case

Burgundy or Switzerland guide would be awesome! I’m always really bad at knowing what ideas to pick when
@yunusemremetin5123
@yunusemremetin5123 11 месяцев назад
depends on what you want to do with them, burgundy is not that hard but for switz you might wanna go for diplo ideas first to acquire strong allies such as france, burgundy, austria and maybe electors such as brandenburg and bohemia. You could also go for emperorship since expanding into empire is very costly and expanding into france is also costly and hard. for burgundy though you could pick a military idea such as quality to dominate france early on you could skip the military idea and pick diplo again to befriend strong hre boys such as electors to secure emperorship or austria and they will help you with france war. once you crush your main enemy which is gonna be france most likely you can go into a more diplo focus gameplay where you try to get emperorship, in the meanwhile you could raid england and that quality ideas will help you greatly with navy.

@momcilomitric6621 11 месяцев назад
Actually bro they are really hard to do world conquest. First you do have the subjesct bonuses, pashas and so on. But the decandence is kinda hard. You need 3 mil and 2 admin idea groups to win it. Then youfight half a mil of jannisary troups . And that is not the only thing . With decadence high ideas are 100 percent more . So its 800 per idea. Than you need ti have a ruller with more than 15 stats to pass the reforms.. so early to mid game otto-easy mid to late game otto-hard

you need to be taking only stuff that you have claims and cores on. and dont take provinces from nations that you did not select as cobelligerents. that is usually what skyrockets your ae. big tip for AE managing is to improve relations with nations that oyu have high AE with. if they have atleast +50 opinion of you they wont join coalition.

Looks like it got harder in EU4 King of Kings. First of all the money is non existent and is not profit, you die because of loans even with conquest. Second, your admin efficiency is trash, i mean, is all rebellions or being 5 levels behind the other normal powers in admin tech trying to have all in order and "normal". Agressive expansion even with a few provinces is a problem, not like in the video. Third military is not used to be strong as it used to be, you easily have a lot of casualties which was not like that before, and sometimes it leads to even hiring mercenaries that at the same time economically kills ur nation. Mamluks also are a lot harder to take. I'm quite of new, yes. But i remember this being so much easier before. If you have any idea of how could i improve i would appreciate it.

37:00 Your distinction between the two types of eyalets is incorrect. Non-core eyalets can be called into wars and generally have _less_ liberty desire than core eyalets, since they compare your military power only to themselves, rather than to themselves and other subjects. Core eyalets can't be called into wars and generally have more liberty desire, since they compare your military power to themselves and other non-eyalet subjects, but they can be annexed for 6 diplo points per dev, rather than the usual 8 diplo/dev for regular vassals.
