In this video titled EU4 A to Z - This UNKNOWN Nation Is Actually SUPER UNIQUE I play as Oyo in Europa Universalis 4 1.36 King of Kings. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Oyo and I attempt to just chill and have fun, with a little bonus goal too. So, let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. Mohammad Hatta, one of the founders of Indonesia was a Minangkabau people, which means he is from the area that was Pagarruyung. As Pagarruyung, conquer the modern day borders of Indonesia

Hawk just playing to have fun is really wholesome. I'd be all for a series centered around that. Maybe just looking at interesting starts and countries with good flavor without any strict goals. I mean A-Z is coming to an end some time "soon", no?

Nice gameplay on Oyo, I did a shortcut by allying with Songhai and I'm set, I just beat everyone in West Africa, easy to annex nations that even Songhai have interest, they are afraid to break alliance and I keep them in check, at one point, I managed to become 1st Great Power when I dev to colonialism, as for their unique Oyo cavalry, they're very strong and crush everyone early on

just did my first noob WC as Kazan --> Golden Horde --> Mongol Empire and it was far from perfect but definitely not tedious. I guess that is expected from your first time - it's about the goal and not the journey.

You could do exploration instead for the second idea set, they give naval force limit increase i believe. That with quality your navy could have seized the day 😁

world conquering is a situational thing, like occasionally to remind you why it hasnt happened in real life. best games are picking a concept and going with it. Like I kinda dislike how often you HRE join at times in games, to me thats the kinda thing that gets samey. but then again I enjoy trying to make little roman empires around the black or red sea(or both) to find borders I like on a map.

Dahomey "Where the Heart is" is the closest achievement. Unfortunately, Dahomey does not have unique missions, but it plays very similarly to Oyo as a fetishist tribe.

I'm fresh on the back of a couple of Malaya runs, the first time I thought it'd be fun to flip buddhist (it wasn't fun, many problems) then decided I'd do another one and be boring and stay muslim, that run's going much better. Edit: It's almost prophetic, I typed this comment at the start of the video, then it turned out to resonate with the message at the end; there's no harm in stopping something you won't enjoy to do something you will.

Hawk is absolutly right, you world conquest once for the achievement (maybe twice if you need to pick up 1 faith in a 2nd run) and then you just play until 1650 as nations with flavour.

Here's an idea as the goals are getting stale (I highkey prefer this style of playing without goals), what if you LARPED your current ruler? Like if he's a 3-1-6 with Expansionist you don't focus on diplomacy at all and instead focus on military. If he's 1-5-1 then you only focus on diplo, if he's got the incompetent trait... you get the idea. Could be fun!
