Few little things to add: 1. You can easily try to get Navarra or East Frisia as a vassal, which are two free provinces ( could save the day :D) 2. Maybe even try to get the Emporer title, takes little diplomatic effort and could pay out big time ( you get even more provinces in the Burgundian succession) 3. You can do an action in the clergy estate which gives you 10 papal influence, which you can invest directly into the curia ( so have a chance of 100% to get the curia int he first few months) 4. I would say, focus even more on Ireland, because the ae won't reach the rest of Europe so hard (maybe even vassalize on of the Irish minors and take advantage of the mission claims=even less ae 5. and just look for the little opportunities, random things throughout the campaign, because every province counts :D good video and feel free to add stuff guys :D
East Frisia is a good option. Navarra, I'm not too sure of. As the succession crisis may randomly fire, which could mean you fighting Castile early game. Thanks for the tips!
Alternate strat vs. England: Keep scotland as ally and ask for fleet basing rights and access. As soon as you've built to force limit send entire army to scotland Ally Castile too (& Portugal if you can but not necessary) Wait for Maine or declare when ready, promising land to scotland to make sure they join. Easy win vs england, their navy is useless when you're already on the island. Allies siege down continental holdings peace for 100 war score including all cores and calais.
Just one additional strat. Ireland is always valid (nothing wrong with attacking England dec 11th) but if you get bogged down going to Scandinavia because of AE you can no-CB Circassia. Vassalize them and seize a province. As they are Orthodox the AE will be minimal. From there you have a lot of very low dev European provinces which are easy to conquer. Good vid.
@@lord6617 Thats retarded. The whole point of this campaign is to get 100 provinces by 1500, not to save money. sieging down 10 capitals forts Is a massive waste of time
I did this achievement a while ago (1.15 I think) and surprisingly it wasn't really hard, I never had to take more than 1 or 2 loans and finished it in 1484, and I actually could have kept playing the game after1500 if I wanted, I wasn't in a bad shape. I allied Burgundy and Castille and then when full north road into Ireland/Scotland/Norway/Russia/Hordes. I had to restart twice, because I got unlucky with RNG (I actually fell under PU with Castille because I was using both my kind and heir as generals and they both died within 2 months). I wonder if the achievement became easier now because of all the provinces they added since I did it, or, on the opposite, harder as your targets will also have more provinces, thus more dev and army etc... Maybe I should try doing it again someday. Anyway, for everyone trying it, if you focus on north area, nobody cares about Islands or peninsulas, so the AE won't be an issue. And then Orthodox lands are even easier target. So I strongly advice going this way, especially as Denmark will probably have only an OPM as ally because of their diplo relation cap, so it's the less RNG way of expansion you can find.
@@Shadow.24772 Yeah i think paradox patched it. I used to do it to other nations but when its the no CB byzantium strat then it doesnt work. So im pretty sure they coded Ottomans to not attack them when they are at war
Got this done in 1486, did not use the maine event, i decleared with reconquest and promised lands to Castile, i was also allied to burgundy, but could not call them in with promise of land, Castile is plenty tho, and you can fight england and Portugal by your self. Took back all my cores and Pale, got papal controller, and Provance was excomunicated, i attacked Brittany first, since i had to wait 1 year for the truce, then attacked Provance while Brittany was coming to an end, vassalised Brittany and took all of Provance except Barrois, Provance actually sold me Anjou right before the war, so i didnt have to take AE for that. I vassalised East Frisia, marked a danish province as land i wanted, took them a long while before they had a claim tho, i had taken whole of ireland and most of scotland, when i saw a claim there, but was bordering Norway's island by then. Called in Burgundy against Denmark and it's 2 minor allies, while i had a stack fighting rebells in ireland, Burgundian inheritance happened well into the war, so got 8 provinces for free there, peaced out denmark and took most of norway boardering Novgorod which was in a war with Muscowy, i allied Lithuania and attacked Muscowy with promise of land, did't give them any ofc, i took 17 provinces from muscow i think, and had all the provinces i needed, Brittany was being annexed, and what slowed me down was large stacks of rebbels in Norway and the time it takes to core, i was waiting years for cores so that i could core their neighbouring provinces, and maybe if i had taken more of swedish lands in finland, this could have gone faster, i attacked Novgorod next, since i wasent able to core Novgorod culture provinces yet anyway, and it was a fast war. In 1486 i had 105 provinces, 8 from luck, but could really have gone into another war with denmark, Scotland and england and taken plenty of provinces for this achivement. The reason i did not attack Aragon which i had planned on doing, was cause he had to many strong allies, and it would have taken to much time and resources, instead i took down ireland as fast as possible, 3-4 wars at a time and straight into scotland. Now i have 8 loans, plenty of admin, i took admin ideas, and got all the ideas from it, and i have 2 ideas unlocked in Defensive, so my armies are unstoppable now, i have increased Autonomy in Russia and Norway, but this is far from a ruined game, i have 3 Corruption which is going down, 39.000 manpower and 50k army, riches country in income comparison, although Ming is probably richer if i could see it and im 1st. great power. Should really now get rid of the loans and corruption and go for Better than Napoleon achivement.
nice job, but 1. pretty unlikely for castille to join with promise on land unless they rival england, unless you restart until this happens, cheesy but good because I had to wait 2 years for maine to fire. 2. for brittany, why didn't you choose to full annex since france gets free claims and it's way before the point they'll have their first national idea that gives enemies core creation cost 3. nice
@@theEtch 1. I was actually planing on useing Burgundy against England, but they would not join, but Castile did, i did not restart to get castile to join, since the plan was on useing Burgundy, could have fought them without allies, but need the manpower when doing this achivement, unless you don't mind getting heavy into debt, and you can ofcourse do that if only getting this achivement done is the goal. I also wanted to do Better than Napoleon aswell. Don't use the main event, you'll get way more agressive expansion that way if i remember right. 2. I vassalised Brittany to reduce agressive expansion and avoid coaltion, i was both vassalising Brittany and taking land from Provance almost at the same time. 3, Thanks. You can do this better, with very good luck, and become the emperor and get all of Burgundy's land, i have tried this, but havent had any luck in it, it's hard to become the Emperor while getting a lot of aggressive expansion, but it's probably possible, that would truly be a powerful france. :)
It's much more effective to ally Burgundy and call them in against England in a Reconquest war on Dec 11, 1444. Promise them land and then either don't give it to them or get lucky one time and have the inheritance fire after you peace out Portugal.
@@Lukekho Part of the point is to reduce AE taking all that high dev land. It won't cost Diplo, either. If England declares on France and France takes all their cores back, they are considered unjustified demands, even though France was attacked and won back its cores. That means you pay diplo for your own cores AND higher AE than if you had a claim. And its your CORE. Reconquest for the big blue blob win.
You can even attack england and porto with france and a couple irish minors without ally help and win. It will just take conservative play, smart battles, and some loans for mercs so you can conserve your manpower. But the game ends in 56 years so who gives a darn about that crap. I take all of my cores and the Pale. Forget about giving burgundy Calais, even though he will undoubtedly occupy it. Unless Burgundy breaks the alliance with France and then allies say Super-Castile you should have nothing to worry about with that plan. Again, if the inheritance fires, get Porto out of the war ASAP and state up you new land for more manpower/money. Get lucky two times and the Lollards hit at the same time that the war of the roses does and England will be stuck on his island spanking rebels after just a few mainland Europe stackwipes.
problem is in the current update Orkney is now "Orkneyjar" and owned by Norway from the start, so you have to take Sutherland instead and just take Norway's islands in the next war.
You say to attack whichever Irish minor you have a claim on. But how do you get that claim? They're not adjacent to any French provinces and none of France's missions grant them claims. I've always had to do a no-CB attack.
Take the one english province in ireland during the maine-event-war. YOu can see him doing it in the quick replay at the end of the video at around 13:04
Good guide. But I don't understand why you are so afraid of getting excommunicated in your guides. In all of my games it has never been a problem. Only maybe when I attack the popeman directly and take his land. As long as you improve relations with the papal states once in a while, and maybe great power influence them, you should be totally fine.
In my experience, once you get excomm, AI will rarely change it. And the excomm will not be lifted with the new Papal controller, if you get lucky. I just really dislike the opinion and prestige modifiers. I want people to like me :(
Great video my friend keep it up and 1 sub for you but maybe someday you wanna make a video a starting guide on the "Ottomans"? Just sayin tho because im a newbie xD my game in the ottomans now are 1567 and still i still struggle to defeat the mamluks tho causethey have bigger allies, i allied france and muscovy but they never help me in wars i just allied them so i can safe myself from the enemys coalitions. and maybe someday make one? :D Thank you and have a nice day Need some help my brothers if you have some tips to spare please help me my other fellow eu4 players thanks
