I love these video, so much to learn! And this one is especially useful because I always find myself in similar (but obviously less severe) situations around 1600. and I had no idea that releasing a vassal in a peace deal reduced AE that’s huge!

I would have logged in to that, seen the AE, overextension, corruption, negative income, loans and hundreds of thousands of rebels and had no idea what to do. I would have played for 40 years like you and have been reduced down to original byzantine starting position and be someones bankrupt vassal in that same time 😂

You are amazing at this game man! I’m having a hard time trying to form the Roman Empire in my own Byzantine campaign. I’m not the best EU 4 player and I keep getting stuck with expanding into Europe with large coalitions that take me way to long to win and I lose the time I need to complete the mission. Watching your videos gives me inspiration and some ideas on how to approach the future! Keep it up man!

Really great job at fixing this empire, next time remember to choose an idea group when you have the option! You are eligible for idea group events without picking a single idea (at least I think that that's still the case). Imagine picking economic ideas and getting the National Bank event. :)

The coalition kills so many of your armies causes you so much pain and suffering and when you won uthrecht is like "Here have 59 ducats and 1 ducat every month that would make up for your loses right?". Mamlukes were involved irl the entire coalition would have paid the war reparations but no tiny uthrecht can only give you 50 ducats.

i'm sorry but how did the aggressive expansion decrease by 100, you seized a province and then annexed it and that drops AE ?

He formed the roman empire, in 1596, as byzantium, on very hard. I feel so inadquete

when i formed the roman empire for the first time i got so devastated when i found out that almost all my trade companies ceased to exist, they also had all buildings built because i had too much money) and that my income went down by over a 1000 dukats which completely ruined my plans to attack all of the neighboring countries once i form the roman empire because was barely able to maintain my armies(yes i was still with positive income because i was making around 2.3k dukats/month as byzantium) and luckily didn't lose the economic hegemony,but i t still took me forever to recover and then i stopped playing that save because i got bored of upgrading workshops and converting to roman

Did you try indebted to the Burghers? You can replace commercial intrest loans with 1% loans and it disappears when paid off
