on start i was 100% that's impossible, trading cities are broken

So here’s the story: Back in 1444 Aragon began its struggle for power trying to take over as much land as possible to rebuild the empires of old. Along the way one ruler ended up disinheriting their heir due to their poor communication (diplomatic) skills rubbing them the wrong way. This miraculously led to the Spanish union. Along the way a secret society of French nationalists noticed that their country was inevitably going to fall and so set about infiltrating the government of their rivals converting them to French culture and eventually convincing them to reform the nation of France. After decisive victories against Great Britain another secret society this time of English businessmen decided they had to start work on influencing the government. While New France took over the world they overlooked the empire rising out of the ashes of the Holy Roman Empire. France works on securing their power and control over their country, but they underestimated their growing foe. After some Asian conquests the Prussian threat seemed to be nearly too strong to best, but after a few wars they too were crushed under the might of New France. With Prussia defeated nothing stood in the way of New France’s conquest of the world. Now with the world conquest that secret society of English businessmen finally took over the government converting it into a “republic” paying the previous rulers a very hefty sum to give up their control. Now with the absolute power of English businessmen they decided to reform their long destroyed Great Britain. And finally they set up their new country so that all the money in the world goes directly into into their pockets ushering in a new age of universal monopoly.

Well maybe I should start caring about trade steering.. I never could've imagined that it's such a strong mechanic
