EU4: Winds of Change - Tall Colonial Money Netherlands

This expansion pack for Europa Universalis IV focuses on three regions of the world that are dramatically transformed by the rapid changes of the early modern world. In the Americas, regional empires are solidifying their position as a new threat prepares to overwhelm their societies. In Europe, the Reformation, new trading routes and the rise of a proto-nationalist spirit challenge old nations to reform and present lucrative opportunities for the financially astute. In Central Asia, the erosion of Mongol power has left a number of nations scrambling to fill the power vacuum.
Winds of Change makes wide-ranging changes to twenty nations stretching from the Andean highlands to the vast steppes of Mongolia. There are many new branching missions, government reforms, events, estate privileges and more, including dramatic game-changing options like returning the Timurid Empire to a nomadic society, pursuing the Glorious Revolution to unite the Dutch and English thrones, or leading an indigenous American invasion of Europe.
Main features:
Aztec Empire: New "Tonalli" mechanic encourages warfare and sacrifices. Pursue the goal of centralizing the loose empire of vassals, and new government reforms including famous chinampa farming.
Mayan Nations: Build a united confederation of Mayan nations, thrive in the tropics of the Yucatan and centralize your union into a stronger kingdom to meet the coming storm.
Inca: Expand from Cusco to conquer or colonize nearby territories, resist the traditional power of mummified rulers and manage Incan Imperial authority.
The Netherlands: Explore more economically themed government reforms and decisions, participate in the power struggle between the stadtholders and monarchists or switch to English national content through Glorious Revolution.
Venice: Resist or bow to the power of the Council of Ten in a new Government mechanic, establish the Golden Republic, and enjoy the cultural power of the Venetian Renaissance.
Austria: Make critical decisions in the new "Universal Empire" Imperial incident, establish the Austro-Hungarian Empire variant nation, choose from a dozen branching missions, and use new diplomatic options.
Hungary and Bohemia: Resist imperial domination through unique Hungarian Government Reforms and decisions, new Hussite-themed content for Bohemia, and the ability to form Greater Moravia nation.
Timurids: Continue a lifestyle of cavalry-led conquest or consolidate power in Persia, establish new Government Reforms including Plunder Economy, new Soyurghal subject type and use Chinese Conquest casus belli.
Mughals: Victories on the battlefield will help missions as you extend your power over the riches of a very diverse region. You can promote the syncretic Divine Religion to reduce intolerance while promoting monarch power, and embrace new reforms, including the Mansabdar warrior-bureaucrats.

Fun useful fact on light ships: if you have "go to port during war" enabled and their mission is set to Protect Trade Node, they won't physically leave port (so they'll be safe) but they'll still count towards giving their trade power to that node!

One other small update on the spreadsheet, the merchant marinehas +75% sailors in stead of +50% sailors

In the independence war you really want to take Brugge over Antwerpen (or both if you can handle the AE). Brugge gets a special bonus to Renaissance growth, so getting it will let you embrace that much quicker.

If the main reason for picking defensive is the extra morale, I’d pick plutocratic over defensive any day. You get 10% morale in plutocratic, extra tradepower, goods produced, colony growth policy and over the duration of a full playthrough you can 100% use the extra reformprogress for centralize administration province interaction to lower governing cost in fullcore states.

Innovative and Offensive allow a very, VERY, nice stacking of Siege Ability with Dutch Ideas, especially if you pick the Gov Reform which gives like +50% Army Drill, along with Uniforms decision, you can get very high Professionalism very quickly and therefore, more Siege Ability

From playing the update : the Permanent Claims is fixed, i did get Utrecht. The No Stab Hit on Independence War Dec is NOT fixed

@@FlyingDutchy no and yes i think. the problem i that the 70 trade power is given to the Netherlands tag and not the minor dutch nation tags, so by switching that around in the game files it does work, but you'll have to switch it back again when forming the Netherlands

if you play as Brabant and finish the mission In Flanders Fields, Antwerpen becomes a level 3 port and you get a bit of money. It obviously stays Flemish as that would be stupid...

@@FlyingDutchy Acronym. Live Action Role-playing Game. Irl it specifically refers to people who e.g. dress up as fantasy or medieval characters and role play combat, but as an online term it's used more generally for "getting into character and doing things that are in line with the spirit of the game", e.g. here being Plutocratic as the Dutch feels. Right 😅
