Thank you so much for making this video. I used to play Euchre with my grad school friends every weekend (15 years ago) and I'd completely forgotten how to play since then.
Seems like an interesting game, like Bridge but simpler and maybe more exciting. Also a lot like Tarot/Tarock. Can highly recommend a French Tarot video as another commenter suggested! I've had fun getting into it and there's a good mobile app available for practice.

Thank you! I’m working on a video about Japanese cards which have a great history. In terms of still in print regional variants, no place compares to Italy. I hope to cover tarot card variants this coming fall.
I think if the defenders win all 5 tricks they get 4 points. I think that's missing from the scoring slide. I got into Euchre half a year ago through a local meetup group and now it's one of my favorite card games! Great video!
Agreed it’s a great social game. I’m aware of the 4pt defender sweep variant, however to keep the video to the basics I left out house rules and stuck to the most official and established sources which don’t include that house rule. But if you enjoy playing that way, don’t stop, and thanks for sharing it here. It’s a good reward for strong Defenders!
I did try Euchre before, but I didn't understand the point system so i passed 😩 thanks to this video it helps me to understand the rules 👍❤️ currently i am into Scopa, the game is easy to understand but is quite challenging and interesting. This is spooky: I quite nearly recommended euchre for you to do a video on as it felt like you were running out of games 😅. Any how, I don’t believe you’ve made videos on *French Tarot* (easily my preferred trick taking game (also see FFT - Fédération Française de Tarot)), *500* (another trick taking game, perhaps too similar to euchre) or *100* , a simple game for kids or the inane. Thanks for the video, I’d been planning to learn euchre for quite some time now.
My family usually plays dump the dealer where the dealer must call trump the second time around. Its also a good way to learn how to play out more mediocre hands.
