07/29/20 - Eufy contacted me and they have updated the Home Base 2's firmware to version 2.1.1.5h. Now, the Pro 2 is recording in 2K. I'll be doing the complete review and comparison pretty soon.
Love your videos! When you do your euphy motion detection, could you please test it from a long distance instead of up close? Or across the yard please? Thats would be super helpful and realistic. Thank you!!
Just installed my Eufy doorbell and Cam 2 pro cameras. The only thing I did differently was use different screws for installation. The screws included are a tad bit too long and strip very easily. Any quality #6 by 1/2 inch panhead screw will make the install process much more efficient.
Great “incomplete” review! I believe Eufy left this bug on the camera to see if you could spot it. Well done!! Now ask them for $2K for finding this 2K problem.
@@LifeHackster Apparently this upgrade is not getting pushed out to all users?? I just bought a 2k pro kit 2 days ago and updated the firmware when prompted, but it is still only at 2.1.0.9h.

I’ve been searching for the past two months myself. Still undecided. Each and every camera has certain negatives. My budgets a grand. I kept going back and forth between eufy and ezviz. But lately been leaning towards a PoE with DVR 4 camera setup thru reolink which is around $520 and then add the solar Argus 3 if it actually comes out, supposedly this weekend. Reolink let’s you own 1 camera without having to purchase cloud storage. Two things I’m looking for NO CLOUD fees EVER and AI technology. Im completely against paying someone to potentially spy on me. From my understanding most of these cameras don’t have that ai technology so people are constantly getting notifications 24/7 because of leaves or cat etc running in front of camera. People knock the Wayz cameras but them $25 and $35 cameras are smarter than the +$100 dollar cameras thats selling wayz can at least recognize faces and will follow people around which is what I want but that was ruined once I discovered they store all your video in there cloud free for 7days. Ain’t nothing free about that, they definitely taking customers data. I’m really curious what you end up going with. Lmk once you pull the trigger

Alex Vazquez I gotta ask how’s the app? Someone said they had to sign in every time they open app which was annoying as well as only one person can use app at a time, that true?? & Are you able to see all cameras live or 1 at a time?
Nice review, like always! I am a kinda disappointed with Arlo Pro, because of the high latency in live view. Would you recommend Eufy over Arlo or any other IP camera?
Howdy, thanks for the video. One quick question to see if you noticed the same thing. When I was shopping for security camera I tried the Ring Spotlight Cam and the Eufycam 2 Pro. Both cameras are listed with a 140 degree view angle. The Ring is much wider than the EufyCam. Did you experience the same thing?
I haven't really compared the 2 yet.. and yes, different companies can have different field of views. It might be diagonal or horizontal FOVs too that they just didn't disclose.
Update- Disregard message below as I just saw you updated video of Eufy cam pro 2k outdoor Cam. Hope you get to this review before sept 30th 2020 as i got an $80 Coupon to use before that date and was looking to purchase this set. Otherwise I will just order Four 2k Cam Pan and tilt Version, They are great as I have two of them. Also if you know for sure they are recording in 2k, you can also let me know so I can go forward with the purchase. Looking to get rid of Ring Cameras that only record at 1080p which are ok, but a bit outdated. Thanks again for another honest and thorough review, always look forward to your reviews. :o)
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE Eufy Cam 2 Pro but ? as you said there was a few problems that may get fixed with software updates now I held off buying one but I do have a homebase 2 and doorbell thats been brilliant now prices here in the UK have dropped for the add on Eufy Cam 2 Pro Why have you not done a follow up video to let us know are the problems fixed ?? thanks for your great videos
Fantastic videos! Love that you’re based in Texas as well :)!! How does the Eufy cam 2pro cameras stand up with battery life and against our weather? Last, maybe the camera recorded in 1080p due to a WiFi connection vs Ethernet?
Awesome video and big like.... I bought home base 2 package with 2 eufy cameras 2 . Now I want to add one or two eufy cameras 2 pro to the exciting base. My question are these new cameras work with my old home base2 or not please advise.... thanks
LifeHackster - Thanks. I bought 3 Cam 2s and the base right before the Cam 2 Pros hit but too late to return. I'm rooting for the Pro not to be a big upgrade so as to mitigate my buyers remorse. I am happy with what I have however.
Excellent review as usual! I have the 2C and happy with it except one big exception! The notifications don't show a thumbnail of what it captures. The doorbell does and it's awesome. It's the only thing stopping me from using them and getting more. You get notification but you have to go into the app, wait for it to load, go to the events and watch it. I'm hoping you have some pull and can have them add this feature. Personally, I think these are useless without this feature and wouldn't buy again. My 8 year old system does it and you can see what it is quickly with no effort. I was really hoping to change to these cameras but not going to happen. Don't mean to hijack you awesome review but I think people considering these should know that and hope they fix it.
True...I wish they have a GIF preview. I'll try asking... but if you click on the notification, it loads up a buffered short video of the event..it usually loads up pretty quick too.
I did almost the same thing.. I did a small recording and live feed from the pro and the cam 2 because I thought it was my eyes.. but sure enough the videos and live feeds for me looked and were the same! I sent them an email exposing my disappointment.. What is the deal? Isn’t that almost “false advertising”? I like Eufy.. but they dropped the ball on this one! Thanks for getting it out there.. I’m sure it will now be addressed in a quicker fashion!
Amcrest has released some new cameras includoing a floodlight and a color nightvision camera with AI (available on Amazon USA)...i hope you can review both soon... i am interested in both but always wait for your opinions and tests before i buy any camera. thanks for another great video!
Thank for making a video I purchase eufy home base pro 2k on holiday deal now I found 2 problems maybe you can help me solve this. One of the cameras is facing towards my driveway and I noticed that my heating system exhaust throws hot air smoke since I live in the northeastern where it's getting cold moving the cameras that not a issued but why does it catch hot air smoke , and the second it problem is one of the cameras goes off and on signal to home base I moved the home base closer to the cameras 4 ft distance still saying cameras off try refresh it gave me a code 204. Now I noticed other houses that have vinyl sidings but mine is fiber cement siding with this cost blockage on signal.? Can you make a video of it be nice to find out what's the side effects to the cameras can also have.
I have a a set of older Eufy Cams and I want to buy a new homebase therefore with the eufy cam2 pro and doorbell, does the non-wired doorbell connect to any indoor chime, and can I connect the Eufy cam 2 pro with a cable outdoors or is it only battery power? Thank you, and I find your reviews great.
How far can you place the camera from the home base unit and still get footage, Like, if your storage house (with no Internet connection) is about 100 meters from where you live. And would wifi extention unit allows additional distance between camera and home base unit?

Thanks for the review! I returned my Eufy Pro 2 after only 5 days due to one camera giving errors such as not showing color in the daytime and an initial white out on playback. The other camera worked perfectly with good alerts. I ended up ordering some Reolink camera's.

Not sure why they release the camera if the firmware has issues. So far only the wired floodlight camera (but still wifi) is the only one worth getting, but would be better if it was 4K.
I noticed when viewing playback of an event it starts with the screen white. I get the same issue with one of my Eufy cam 2, have you noticed this and do you get it with other Eufy cam 2 cameras?
@@LifeHackster OK, but I have two cameras but only get that effect with one. I've also noticed that it's only with daytime events, don't get the white screen with night events at all.
I bought the Eufy Cam 2 Pro yesterday, but I noticed the video is lagging. When I see the live feed is laggy and the videos are also laggy. I didn’t have this issue with the Eufy Cam 2C.
@LifeHackster Sir. Did you notice any blurry or kinda Dark resolution when streaming Live video? I find my other camera is a little dark compared to the other one. Is this normal? Or Defective?
@@LifeHackster ohh well. It is actually pointing at my driveway. And yea maybe it is the auto exposure doing it thats why it kinda looking dark when streaming live.
Maybe a question for another topic but anyways: I can now only see one eufy cam live stream at a time in the app. Do you know if it is possible to see multiple live streams at the same time?
Hi, how do you add multiple devices to HoneBase 2 please. I had the battery doorbell 2k installed and when adding the Pro 2/2k the doorbell disappeared 😒 and all the saved history.SOS help 💙
I have the eufy out door pro and in the help menu it says if you're in continously record mode it will only record in 1080p even if you selected to record in 2k, so I'm guessing you need to get out of continuous record mode the it'll record in 2k only when it detects motion
Hello do they make eufycam 1? I’m planning on purchasing Eufycam 2 but on the box it doesn’t say 1 or 2. Or is there only two cam 2 an 2 pro? Hopefully this makes sense.

What do you recommend what's a good model?....and thank you
You can start with cheap WiFi cameras like the Wyze Cam or EZVIZ C1C.. you can install them overlooking a window setup.. They are cheap and if you eventually want to invest in a more reliable setup.. I'll go with Ring or NVR PoE systems.
I've been seen lately a lot of those PTZ wireless cameras that are running for about $50 bucks each is that better than getting a 4 camera system? Is it worth it? Is one better than the other I just want to be able to monitor them from my phone
I have eufycam 2 both pointing to the same general area but from 2 different angles. 1 of them failed to record. I was just wondering what happened. I called customer service and I was told to set 1 camera for human and the other one for everything that moves I guessed. But I will use up a lot of battery if it is recording leaves moving or rain falling. I wonder if there is any suggestion anyone can tell us. Thanks. BTW, you have the best content on RU-vid.
I have Eufy Cam 2 non pro version. have been having issue not recording any carrier delivery on my front porch? I tested with myself and always recording.
Why can't you put a solar powered 2k camera onto a homebase 2 but compatible with homebase 3 only, but the only thing difference is the homebase 3 you can add a hard drive to it, and everything else is the same... Don't understand...
Can anyone tell me if the 2c pro has the sony sensor on it? Eufys website is unclear. When you click on the 2 pro add on camera it specifically says it has it. When you click on the 2c pro there is no mention of the sony sensor at all. Makes me think it doesnt have it. The 2c pro is 259 right now for 2 cameras.
can these cameras be used to view a live feed, without recording, without being a big drain on the battery, without interruption, using a mobile app and/or web browser? thanks!
Is it possibly to have you wifey camera activate your porch lights when motion is detected. I’m pretty sure you need a smart light switch but not to sure where to start. I’m new to the smart homes ordeals.
I have a eufycam 2 pro with the latest firmware. It recorden a unknown person yesterday. The clip is 1.02 min. But it is 1080p. Is 15 seconds still the limit for 2k ?
I've had the 2k pro a couple of days, it fails to pick up movements by cars or people within the detection zones outside of 15 feet radius. I mounted it under my eve, 8ft high, out of the FL sun. I can only get detection within 15 ft, radius of the camera eye. Is this the typical performance of this camera? I picked up the Eufy because my Wyze outdoor picked up everything. Even a flag down the street (about 3 house down and across the street). Is there anything I can try in order to fix this problem, before I return the system? Updates completed, set to max sensitivity. the eve is a dark flat brown, no reflections into camera. Also tried with zones turned off, same results. 9-5-2020 Thanks
Hi, I have a Homebase 1.0. However when I attempted to add devices, Cam 2 Pro option does not show up? The only available camera devices that appears is the Cam 2, Cam 2C and Cam E. Can you guys confirm if the Homebase 1.0 is compatible with the Cam 2 Pro device or will I need to acquire the Homebase 2 to run it? Thanks in advance
