Eugeo is someone born and raised in an alternate reality where laws are absolute and the people that live there are literally programmed to never be able to disobey the law or the decrees of the most powerful in the world. But when his childhood friend Alice is taken away to be executed for her fingertips barely crossing into forbidden territory, he becomes determined to get her back.
With the help of his friend Kirito, they travel to the center of the human empire to train and get Alice back, but it's not as easy as it seems. The laws of the world make it near impossible to do anything meaningful in their quest to save Alice, so it comes to a point where Eugeo must test his will to see if he can break the deep-seeded programming from birth and break his mind free, or give in to temptation.
This is a great allegory of conformity or even brainwashing in modern society where it can be nearly impossible to break the molds, customs and rules set for us since birth. This is made in honor or Eugeo's struggle and the struggle of anyone trying to break free their minds and live a real life. Remember, there are some things you shouldn't do, even if it's allowed, and there are things you should do, even if they are forbidden.
