Would love to see Aaron talking about how he mixed these drums! I'm sure the source tones where top notch, but this whole drum sound is absolutely ridiculous
I always admire the drummer that do back-up vocals as well. I wanted to be one, but God gave me a fucked up voice so I’m sticking in drumming. MAD RESPECT ILAN!
I'd love to see more of those videos! Can you tell me how you attached the gooseneck for your vocal mic to the cymbal stand? I am also a singing drummer and want to build this thing myself, because having the mic stand coming from the side really bothers me while playing. Cheers from Germany!
Before this vid I didn’t really think any ambidextrous pro drummers existed. This proves you can be an unconventional drummer and still kick some serious butt. I respect that he can play both left and right handed on a right handed kit. Super cool video, keep them coming! I learned to play really young and didn’t really realize until later I was playing left handed on a right handed kit. Glad I stuck to what comfortable and never tried to force traditional techniques on myself.
I really like Ilan, but he never seems to fit into the band like he did with Atom... I would like to see Ilan on guitars instead of David and have Atom come back on drums
Ilan has been a perfect fit for the evolution of the bands sound. And he provides the band with a lot more options musically, Atom was great and a perfect fit for that era of the band but Ilan is also a fantastic guitarist, vocalist and a songwriter which allows the band to push themselves more and have someone else contributing towards the songwriting and not just mainly Tom although Tom is also a very good songwriter But Ilan and Atom’s styles aren’t that drastically different, the way the drums are mixed are certainly different but in terms of what they play, there isn’t that much of a huge difference really
