Hydrogen would be the better technology and would be less dependent on rare earth mining, battery facilities in China and the carbon footprint this all brings with it. Both technologies use energy. A brake through in nuclear fission could electrify entire Europe and get off oil and gas dependencies from rouge states who do wish us harm.

In China the government tells the Corporations what to do. In your country the corporations tell the government what to do. You call China a dictatorship but there the government does what is best for the people. Serving the people is their goal. They are accountable to the Chinese people. In your country the government does what is best for the corporations not the people. That is why you go to China there are no homelessness, streets as safe, their infrastructure is amazing. Then you go to your country and Oh God.

Apparently, Dan Welterweight and wanabe Frank Zappa don't live in China to write about the wonderful lifestyle of the neo-communist regime. People of Myanmar and Hong Kong definitely didn't want to be part of it. Even the Chinese people had enough being incarcerated in their own homes for months on end by the regime and having to ask the government for permission to walk the dog during the China Flu Pandemic which origins have been covered up by the wonderful government as long as they could. Again, the current Chinese leadership in the WHO have buried and derailed an independent investigation into the origins of the outbreak. The crack down on Chinese people got worse when Xi order to lock up famous business leaders and athletes who showed a streak of independence. Dan, you're right China is amazing. With the massive financial help of the West they were catapulted from Stalin area agrarian toilers to the largest middle class in the world. Xi is a relict of the agrarian labor camp mentality he voluntarily participated in when he was younger. It's also interesting to see Xi touring parts of Europe a month ahead of the 35th anniversary of the June 4, Tiananmen Square revolution which was entirely erased of the Chinese consciousness.
