I wish you guys talked more about your rigging set-up used for high water. I live in western WY, stonefly country and we deal with a very long and prolonged runoff season. In the past I used the old High Sticking Brooks method and a full sinking line and shot to get 2 flies, usually a big sculpin, sz 6 stonefly tandem deep in the fast flows. So now I have a Euro set-up and I was wondering what kind of leader set-up will achieve the same results. I would think also that I would not be able to throw the same flies mentioned earlier on my Euro rig? Appreciate your comments.

CHEECH Banging them Up! I proved it to My Buddy last week. A Very slow morning here in Soprano Land I rigged up My 7 1/2 foot for a 4/5 wt Bamboo with a SanJuan Worm. I caught at least 6 in minutes while my Bud watched fish-less. I walked upstream and said DO NOT SAY anything just Fish It! He immediately started catching Fish. His First experience catching Trout on Bamboo as well.

never thought of actually fishing the narrow bank side coming into to the water from the side you got into from and fishing the middle In to the Bank ?? Beats hitting the trees in front of you when the flows are Up.

Any idea about water temps? I'm up in Idaho, having similar conditions here, but water is very high, or very cold. Wondering if it's even worth fishing for a week or two until conditions mellow out

These are honestly my favorite conditions. The water is off color so you can get up close and personal, plus most of the time you have the river to yourself cause the high water deters most anglers. All you need is more weight!

I am still new to Euro style nymph’ng and would love to see his techniques close up. I bought Modern Nymphing and Elevated but the casting parts are difficult to see the details.

Do you weight the worms to the bottom or were you just relying on the weight of the flies?

Is it normal to use pink worms when the naturals are cream colored? Or is it used as purely an attractor?

Size 16 jig hook, black frenchie with a UV red bum, cdl tail, silver ribbing and a 3mm gunmetal or black tungsten bead, bit of black UV dubbing behind the bead, those are always the winner! Squirmies is blasphemy.

Water too high to fish? So what, the fish stop eating? My experience the higher water flushes more food off the bottom which equals more fish!
