Just came onto this one Sherralin, so not sure if its part of another video. Anyway, talking about strawberries, I never buy winter/foreign strawberries, its like eating nuts, they're hard. I do prefer English strawberries, so sweet and juicy😍 You took the words out of my mouth when you were driving after picking up your load. It does look like Wales, mainly the pass through Snowdonia. Absolutely beautiful. Just watching you check your lorry the following morning, and noticed that you didn't check the left-hand back door. It was only whilst watching another video with a driver, and there was a lorry in front of him whilst at Le Harve docks, and customs were checking his lorry, and checked the doors at the back. The right-hand door was shut, but when they checked the left-hand one, it opened, which shouldn't. When they took it through the x-ray, it showed up two illegals on board. They did check the lorry manually, but didn't see them, but the x-ray machine did. It was a foreign lorry, so whether the driver hid them to get money off them, I don't know. Also, may be an idea to also invest in a drone, you can check the roof of your lorry, as you may not be aware if any illegals have cut into your lorry that way. Although, you'll know as you travel across the water most times☺
Love these videos, you bring back a lot of fond memories and a fair share of heart stopping moments but all valuable learning experiences. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. I last ran out to the Continent in Feb 07 before returning to the US. I had been driving over here but always wanted to do the European work and am originally from West Cork in Ireland. My neighbor said I could take a 143 with a load of fish out to Barcelona anytime and so I did and got hooked . What was meant to be a few months turned into 4 years but alas I had to return to the States . My wife loves the scenery in your videos as well. Keep on trucking
I was taking fish from Scotland out before I started this job. I have a lot of friends still doing it from Ireland too, mostly go Roslare to Cherbourg since Brexit though. Glad you enjoyed it. 😀
@@GBtrucklady I’m sure we know some of the same people, it’s a small world as they say. I drove for Vincent O Sullivan out of Castletownbere where I’m from. Yellow trucks with O’SULLIVAN across the head board . I haul logs now mostly out of Massachusetts back to Upstate New York and chat on the CB with the boys coming down out of Maine with fresh fish on the Mass Pike( I-90). From their tales the trucks are different but the job is much the same , bad weather and delays waiting for boats but get the load there anyway. Safe travels.
@@travellingbilly.4032 no never the same back but we used to drop in Ondarroa and head out to Bermeo then and reload fresh fish back to Ireland. I only did it twice but another lad used to do it regular.
As always a great video with some amazing scenery, a true professional doing a amazing job in and across Europe , have a wonderful bank holiday weekend be it at home or at work xxxxxxx
Only just come across your channel, really enjoying watching. Maybe you could show what’s it’s like on the ferry, too. What drivers accommodation is like etc. also, it’s great to watch the scenery go by, great job.
Hi Sherralin, always look forward to your videos you have a great calm way of describing where your at and what's going on and the scenery well speaks for itself, great videos really enjoy em....see you on the next one😊
Sherralin thanks for a wonderful video, you are absolutely right, northern Spain is beautifully green and lush, what memories you evoked. Mind you, aren’t you spoiled these days, with undercover, solar panelled shelters to park under, Oooooo weeeeee 😅 But I must admit it really took me back. Thanks girl 👍
Another great vlog sherralin you have some amazing views out your office window, I have still not had any luck with the job search but will keep applying hopefully soon i will be out in a class 1 stay safe and take care 👍👍
hi Sherralin,, another great video to watch, as always drive safe keep well, looking forward to your next one, i remember when i was a kid in the early 80's traveling into europe with a family friend doing wool out of Bradford { F10 & 2800 } now aged 57 doing fuel out of Cardiff,, i live in Wales now and travel over the Brecon beacons few time a week, but it not like Spain lol.. all the very best
Great video as always Ms Ballard. I live in West Wales and yes that pass in Spain was very Welsh like except the road itself looked a lot better quality 😂 Brilliant idea at la Maison Blanc with shelter and solar panels 👍🏼 drive carefully 👍🏼👍🏼🏴
Thanks for posting. We have never seen the A121a so green, it is nearly always covered in snow when we use it. Just come back from near Castello, via Haro, used the AP1, better than the A1 Tollosa Valley which I hate. We also camp near Maison Blanc, and have eaten there a few times.
Irun, say no more. We had a van here on a Saturday morning, however the only one who could release the van with a single stamp took the morning off. Therefore the van was stood until Monday morning. Unbelievable. Excellent vlogs
Hi 👋🏻 Sherralin 😊 just back from a weeks holiday in Portugal 🇵🇹 Thanks for the ride as it’s always a pleasure riding with you in the sunshine ☀️ except when it rains lol 😆 take care thanks Stevie x
Watching your videos for me is a great escape from a stressful job, i started out driving low loaders and then moving to super market work and back to mechanic, it's still on my bucket list to try European , might cover holidays for some driver maybe take my better half with me, great video keep the tips coming stay safe.
What can I say, the scenery in northern Spain is lovely and a bit like you as I live in France when ever we go to another country my default foreign language is French which can be fun! Be safe out there and many thanks for the great videos
Hi Sherralin. Great video as usual. I don't normally comment on vlogs, but some of the narration on this one and the comment from the Flying Paddy have obliged me to break this habit! I've just returned from a short visit to County Kerry where my folks still live and where I also resided for about 8 years, until around 2008. I now live back in mid-Wales where I was born and raised. My family live near Kenmare - which the Flying Paddy will know well - and I once poured concrete in Vincent O'Sullivan's yard, that is until the bolts on the drum started shearing and I was stuck there for most of the rest of the day until a bodge could be effected! I was in Castletownbere this last Thursday and was delighted to see that O'Sullivans are still trading and seem to be doing fine, as is the port in general. I see what you mean about the countryside in that part of Spain - very Welsh! I think it's reminding you of the Bwlch - the very steep hill on the way to Dolgellau and a bit hair raising to descend in a fully freighted log lorry. I've 'hung up my spurs' now, as they say, because UK trucking is not much fun, but your videos remind me of my days living in Belgium in the late 80's and driving full time continental. That would be the only thing that might tempt me back. I live in Newtown, Powys which might make us near neighbours, although I don't expect you to go into detail! All the best and looking forward to more content.
I enjoy watching the videos of yours and your doing a awesome job, and I love the part when u said about Wales 🏴 I'm from south Wales and yes it is a lovely place and I'm proud to be Welsh 🏴🏴 keep up with the good work from Rob the Welsh boy 🏴🏴🖐️
Going back to 2015,s delivering to Sainsbury,UK I drove for Vitacress i would sometimes chat with a lovely lady, who drove a two-tone blue truck from the Worcester area, and we would go to your depot I never did.
It could have been me but I worked nights delivering to the fruit markets, very very rare I did supermarkets. Spires & Hartwell have had other female drivers too. It may have been Jeanette at that time.
Another great video Sherralin. Can I ask a question. What country do you dread going to. Because of crime . (Diesel theft). Cab break ins ? etc . Looking forward to your next adventures in your DAF 👍👍
Thank you. Unfortunately lorry crime is prevalent in all countries. I’ve experienced it in UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany so it hard to say. You just have to try to be vigilant and try to park safely. Try not to isolate yourself, there’s safety in numbers, although some drivers can be the criminals too.
Hi from France, great little video. Not quite sure if you're aware that in Irun (both sides French & Spanish) they speak Basque, bit like they speak Catalin in Barcelone, my ex is Spanish.I'm not quite sure where they speak Spanish, there is a région in Spain where they speak Gaelic.....they do it on purpose speak their local lingo....
Hi, thanks for watching. Strangely I have found that Basque people tend not to want outsiders to speak their language, they prefer to speak Spanish or French to you, it’s like they are protecting it from being misspoken, it is supposed to be one of the oldest languages ever recorded. On the other hand, Catalans want you speak their language (which as an outsider seems to be a mix of French & Spanish) and not Spanish. Also, I have no idea why, the people of Andorra speak Catalan too 🤷🏼♀️ Galicia is the area at the top left of Spain above Portugal, A Coruña area, where they speak Gallego. It’s said that this has influences of Spanish, Portuguese and old Celt. I love this area of Spain, always found the people friendly and it’s a really historically interesting place. I used to do a lot of loads out of Santiago de Compostela, such a stunning city, well worth a visit if you ever get the chance. 😁
Lovely scenery as always especially that part where you said it reminds you of Wales. Isn't that tachograph rule of changing Country during your shift a joke. What's the point of it???
I have to agree, I really don’t see the point 🤷🏼♀️ The same with the Angles Mort stickers, if you’re close enough to read them you are going to be in trouble anyway 🤷🏼♀️
@@GBtrucklady the person making them stickers is making a handy money. Probably has a fried in government who introduced the rule for them and they make money from selling the stickers/magnetic stickers. 😂😂
I’ve been all over Europe but I like Spain, Portugal is my favourite though. I can get by in Spanish and as English/American English is one of the most common languages in the world, lots of people can understand a small bit too.
Hi. Just watching your video. We have missed you by a day. We went Sunday and put a deposit on the swift Grand Prix. So not for sale anymore. Unfortunately we cannot get it in the time for your meet up next. Was it you two got the carpets all wet. Haha. See you at the weekend at your meet up. best regards Dave and Heather.
Sherlin, did You ever drive for Freight Away. If You did I remember stopping for break sourh of Birmingham. What I can remember is a blonde lady. Might not have been You. But I wanted to check if that lady was You. Be Well. Looking forward to You answering the question that I m wondering was that You. 😊
I’ve taken the Penguin food to the Oceanarium in Lisbon many times. Sardines to Peniche, even especially made curtains and soft furnishings from Dublin to the Algarve, as well as lots of ordinary loads. Portugal is one of my favourite places to go. Unfortunately this company doesn’t go to Portugal at the moment but you never know. 😁
I have Ham licence. Worth a look at the Radio Society foundation licence manual, it’s quite cheap and an easy read and test pass, (local radio clubs do the test etc. ). with the repeater network you can get quite long distances both in U.K., and all over Europe. Great for road repots tens/hundreds of miles ahead - English is widely spoken on Ham radio. just a thought. Phil - Suffolk.
The fruit and vegetable factory from Europe, absolutely tasteless, odorless and filled with pesticides. Big business but we consumers are poorly served. Brief How long did you had stayed in the parking before the ferry? Isn't a problem for the rest hours? In UK, you have almost all blind spot cameras, that's great. Nice job, and good rest at home.
As my son is a farmer and I come from a rural area I can only agree that British produce tastes better and would always recommend it. The break at the port and on the ferry comes under “ferry/train movement regulations” In short, a regular break of 11hours can be interrupted twice, for a total of one hour, to move on/off a ferry or train. Any movement time must be added onto the 11hour. More details can be found at www.gov.uk/drivers hours

Yes it is but it seems polite to at least try to greet them in their own language. I find they are more welcoming and appreciate you making an effort. And of course there’s always Google Translate 😁
