My job has its perks. I get to travel through some stunning scenery. You can now buy me a coffee by following the link below. 😀 www.buymeacoffee.com/o4f1r46xsD
Yet another fantastically interesting video I would have thought from a security angle to have a driver's mate or even your own personal bodyguard for dangerous and crime ridden areas as a matter of importance, Transport companies should take full liability and any incident is one too many.
Although I’ve been to some rough places, I’ve never really had problems. I keep myself to myself, use my manners, smile and walk away. Common sense is a must. 😁
Just come across your videos, watch a couple of English truck drivers, but I am enjoying your continental travels, I am a retired English truck driver now living in Australia, long way from Yorkshire, but no snow. Enjoy watching you load and unload and the travel, find something soothing about watching the road LOL must be the diesel in my blood. Love the fact you still drive a lorry not caught the american truck, 83 this year so this is mostly my hobby keep on lorry driving
Great views and vid Sherrralin beautiful scenery we are heading down to Malaga in our Motorhome in March might catch sight of you😊 watch out for headlights flashing and arms waving 😅 take care and keep safe 👍
Hi Sherralin, you should get an award from tourism Spain and for all the priceless info you pass on. No substitute for skill and experience. Thank you for posting. Take care MARK uk
Greetings sherralin.... Once you get back to yard have equipment placed on your doors for a peaceful night sleep... thank you for bringing us along be safe......
I always enjoy the POV shots and they were great. I now know why Driver both use a GPS and Google Maps, one of them is always right instead of relying on the GPS. The truck sound nice an quiet compares to others. Your story about parking up outside Barcelona at night, geezers, creepy. Stay safe
Good evening Sherralin. Once again thanks for the ride 😊 You’re such a star 🌟 giving so much helpful information on your travels 👍🏻 If only back in the 80s if we had you life on the road would of been so much easier 🤣 I can remember stopping at fuel stations and looking for a Brit Irish or Dutch 🇳🇱 driver for help and information as well as a good Colin’s map book lol 😝 Take care thanks Stevie xx
@@GBtruckladyI only did Spain a few times, used to run to Germany every week and a mate of mine told me to do the ratchet and strap around the handles too… It’s not right but it’s effective…. Love the channel and safe travels!!!😊
@BarryCurran101 Thanks for watching. To be honest, you’d think the vehicle manufacturers would do more to increase security for drivers when they are sleeping, I know DAF did a “night lock” that was a simple blot system that went from door into the door pillar, again simple but effective. I think it is/was an optional extra. I don’t know of any other companies doing anything.
@@GBtrucklady Yea,it’s not an “option” though is it,our security… Scary, even now, that you don’t feel safe, even with your doors locked… It’s over 20 years since I did Spain and I truly enjoyed it,but mental that not much has changed… Hope you’re staying safe and still enjoying the shit outta what you do,your uploads are very much appreciated and enjoyable!!! All the best from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪 👍🤩
Scenery is amazing especially so early in the morning. Glad everything was okay at your overnight stop, nothing worse than needing a good nights sleep and having to get your head down and keep one eye open. You should patent the security system, simple but effective.😂😂 Thanks once again for a really interesting video, stay safe.
Thanks as always for the upload Sherralin. Keeping safe means there is no such thing as over the top . One of the east european guys I work with told me what was essential to keep by the bed and it wouldn't be pleasant for anyone breaking in
Hi Sherrralin. Thanks for the superb views and can't wait to go back to Spain in our camping car in March/April. As you say better to be safe than sorry when parked up, we have had similar situations where you don't feel comfortable but luckily we have a malinois cross dog so he looks and sounds the part but is as soft as snow. Be safe out there...........Alan
Hi good video as always Well done young lady doing what you do as am a truck driver as l have said to you before l could never drive out side the uk like you do never had the balls to do it lol so well done again keep safe Safe driving
Great vlog again Sherallin , safety is paramount on a night out in any country , I have always strapped my doors locked @ night , safe onward travels xx
As a matter of truck safety there should be special tamper proof extra strong locks as a minimum in rough areas where there is crime where truckers are required to sleep GPS alarms CCTV cameras to alert the Police , air horn alarms and flood lighting may be also a deterrent I used to be the CEO of a security company so I know all this is possible . Where trucks are not fitted then it is possible for mobile security to be fitted and any cost is Income tax deductable and it can be sold on should you leave the profession What do you think please leave a comment .
I do think security should be better as standard on lorries. I’m sure, aftermarket systems are available but most drivers do not own their vehicles so these systems would be down to the companies, most would put profit first. I do think there should be more secure parking facilities available, no good just putting cameras up if no one is monitoring them but again it’s down to cost v profit. 😁
I like Ll ghe little fincas and smaol farmsteads along the roads in the rural pzrts of spain . Im glad therres a new road the old road was a nightmare . Hope ur keeping well pls take care drive safe my dear . Loved the views . WhT truck do u have now it seems to pull well up the hills . Pls drive safe . Catch up soon . Xx
That’s the difference with Europe & uk you wouldn’t get many places unloading someone else’s pallets,in the uk all you’d get is “tough that’s your problem”
Thanks for video , like you say Barcelona not good for parking at night , Years ago we used to go back to Tir & custom park & pay as it was a bit safer .
I did the same but used a stainless steel cable with a padlock across the doors and also fitted a small safe for my valuables. If they have to work they give up,
A couple of months ago i climbed one of the peaks south of the airport in Malaga. Don't try in flip-flops. Good view, you can see Gibraltar and the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. It was noticeable that one are almost 60...
Gassing has been going on years my freind and his wife and kids got gassed in there camper van in marseilles the side door was removed took clean off and everything was gone . they took all phones lap top and the stereo and cash .And they didnt know the name off the services they were in .
used to be better before AP7 on old A7 all the wy to cadiz plus i bought a villa in almeria in 2004 for 140.000 euros with fruit trees and pool was a good price at the time as im british i am also a resident of spain so i do not pay entry fee
Great video Sherralin, I really look forward to your vlogs. Top marks for your cab security probably better than what you used on the Daf. It’s just a shame that undesirable characters makes overnight stays so worrying. I thought the Volvo cab was fitted with a strong box to store valuables. If not maybe worth having a word with the boss to get one fitted, could even possibly get some reduction on the insurance premiums demonstrating proactive measures against such theft.
Hello Cherralin ,when in Rome do as the Romans do. I thought being in Andalusian country you would be wearing one of those incredible hats, a split skirt like slacks, with boots and those big silver roller spurs. Stamp around the country and let the old Scania know who is star of the show. I would like to know, being an onion country, do they make nice pickled onions? Of course they would. What kind? Best wishes, good luck, and above all, please watch your health.
Another enjoyable journey. Did worry about your obvious apprehension in parking. Is there a ‘gas alert -alarm’ that can be fitted in the lorry to give an immediate warning of the ‘knock out gas.’ This problem stopped us parking with the caravan on the Peage airs and service areas in France in the 90’s. Glad you stay safe. Thanks for the journey - another catching up for me. Phil - Suffolk U.K.
Great as always Sherralin, love to see Spain in the early morning in wintertime, mirror camera working well, you make it look easy reversing in and im sure its not, also how do you find it driving a RHD truck in LHD countries ?
Great trip, can be a bit frustrating when you know what you can do with short wheel base tractor and you arrive for your drop or collection with long wheel unit and someone makes the comment, the last driver put trailer on first time 😊
Hi Sherralin another great video, I always use that Toll road a lot going from Cordoba to Malaga Airport come off after Churriana tunnel. Could you please explain Sunday Frigo rules in France, is it only certain temperatures between set points, ie does it inlude -20-25 (frozen) or not ? thanks.
As far as I’m aware, in most European countries, vehicles carrying perishable goods, live animals, plants and air cargo can move on Sunday & bank holidays. Frozen goods and long life goods - such as long life milk, tinned or pickled good are not permitted. There are other exceptions but this is the general rule.
I’ve driven both. It’s much easier driving a right hand drive in Europe than it is driving a left hand drive in UK because of the way our roads are laid out. 😁
How do i find this sort of work..been doing uk work since 1998...always found im wrong side of uk for any firms..im live at felixstowe suffolk..never done european work, fancied doing it few times, but then never done anything bout it..looks amazing work..
You could try some of the Dutch companies, they ship that direction, although I don’t know how it works after Brexit. Otherwise it’s just a case of keep applying I’m afraid.
No. Even if you are on a UK passport you do not until you leave Europe again, such as returning to UK or entering Turkey, Europe is classed as one place. My passport is Irish.
Lovely video as always. Not many jobs where you have to lock yourself in for security😮 disgusting when you think about it. The human race has a lot to answer for really. Stay safe out there 😊
hiya your really treating us having these regular videos, as always drive safe and keep well, you must have a retarder for the long down hills ? all the best
