One of the happiest days of my life, as a Portuguese watching this game at home with my father who passed away a few months later! We had been dreaming of that moment ! European Champions! It seemed it would never happen, so many times we came close! But this time we had CristianOROnaldo , our Golden Boy , his talent , work ethic, perseverance , confidence and charisma is contagious ! Against everything and everyone, Portugal didnt play brilliantly, but we played realistically, played as a team, coach Fernando Santos' style The critics will say we didn't win many games, (except when it mattered: against Croatia, then Poland in quarter finals , Wales in semi finals and France in the final ) but the same critics seem to forget we didn't lose any games either! Some other Portuguese teams in the past had more talent , more attractive football, but always lacked the discipline and team spirit to win the must win games ! Not to mention the bad luck when we lost the final of Euro 2004 at home in the last minute, against Greece, with Figo, Rui Costa, Pauleta, and a much younger CR7 on the field. But this time we had a more mature , 4 time Ballon D'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo! Even though he didnt play or score in the final because of that cruel injury, he had scored all the way through the Euro and brought us to the final ! BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD EVER for team and country! Finally a little bit of justice in this world of football for Portugal! My father is probably in heaven still with a big smile on his face from having watched that special game and that special player, together with me!

I lived 30 years in New Jersey out of 43 total years in the USA but I returned home for good in time to see the amazing win against France! Never gave up on the dream that one day, there would be a pay back from that loss against France in the 80's that made my father (and the whole family) cry. Here in Portugal, I cried from emotion. You couldn't hear a pin drop while the game was going on. To see that our citizens all around the world celebrate with us here is an incredible feeling which I thought I would never feel again now on this side of the Atlantic. Three years have passed, but I still feel the lump of emotion in my throat seeing Hélderzito score that amazing goal that gave us the Euro Cup!! The lump of emotion will never go away. Amazingly proud of our team and of our 🇵🇹!

Great moment, unfortunately i was working at the final match time but always took a peek whenever i could, i have family living in Newark from my father's side although i've never met them only my grandpa that came to Portugal to see me once, when i was like 24yo, so, hope the Pinho family is well wherever they are and a big hug to all the community in the US, Portugal caralho!!!!
