I have been in the bicycle industry for 40 years. A woman brought one of these to me to give it a free safety inspection. When she called me on the phone I was leery about an internet bike, but when I saw it I was rather impressed with the quality of the components and even surprised by the quality of the pre-assembly. Mind you, I did have to make a few adjustments, but overall the factory assembly was about as good as I have seen (although admittedly I did not remove the wheels to confirm the hub bearings were properly adjusted, which in my experience, they usually are not). It is one of the few instances where the never-heard-of-it manufacturer's suggested $500 MSRP is realistic, knowing what Trek, Specialized, Giant, etc. charge for bikes with similar components. $350 is not a bad buy.
me too got a folding bike recently,it is not just the workout riding on it and able to travel with me own bike I feels freedom just like riding a motorcycle (only a lot slower) I am happy with it and I think you feel the same too :)
I just ordered a euromini ferro. Can not wait till it gets here. I ride public transit and my job is only 4 miles away. I will be able to ride either to the train stations or to my job. I have asthma so this will help so much.
But how does the bike feel when riding in the STREET with car traffic? Did you feel like you could maneuver quickly enough to feel safe around cars and trucks?
I'm stuck between buying the Campo and the Urbano. I love the yellow version of the campo, but want to make sure I'm getting a bike that's comfortable to ride and is quality made. What do you think? Are they both comparable or is the Urbano better?
Thank you very much for the video and I do have question. Does the stem post locking level that controls the raising and lowering having issues. I do have a EuroMini Liberte and I have to lock it extremely tight so that it doesn't get lower itself when I was riding on bumpy road. Otherwise a pretty good bike.
I did the same to my stem post and now it is really tight till the extend that is a pain and yet it still slide down very slowly. I must admit that my ride is a little bumpy but I don't think it should present such an issue anyway. By the way thank you for sharing with us your experience. Cheers!
I started out with a Campo a few months ago. Like you, i was tremendously impressed. Debated a long while between the Urbano and a Camp Thunderbolt, which has 16 speeds and disc brakes. I went for the Thunderbolt…and have been waiting for the Urbano to go on sale since. Definitely more impressed with the Euromini product for the price. Good things come… and i decided to try the other two EuroMinis. Just unboxed the Urbano and am waiting till morning for my maiden ride!!! When you bought your Via in January, did it come with fenders as it does now? Did not appear so in your video and I wonder how it affects the unboxing process. Mine comes tomorrow. Let's start a EM (now Zizzo) bike club. I'm in SoCal too.
Yeah they had a special which included the fenders (in general) up until Nov 15…then the holiday discounts began on 11/16 and the added fenders went away. Not esp important to me. Via is billed to include them stock. Yes apparently name change caused by trademark issues with Mini Coopers. I'm weird and I wanted my frames to be homogenous so I pounced on their dwindling old stock. Exactly I thought same of your videos re name update. They are great BTW i think I first watched the Campo one when I got that bike. The rainy sidewalks had me guessing SF and the airport could be anywhere but somewhere you referenced LA and our drought. I'm in Ventura area. Here I go to try my Urbano…..weeeeee lol :) Oh I had a Stingray (metallic blue) back in the day too. Then when 10speeds came we all ditched the banana seats for the BMX type look. You should see what i serendipitously found after I got to ruminating on that one. it's been The Year of the Bike for me. i actually WATCHED the Tour de France!
Yes, there is a new 2018 model, the Liberte which is 1 lb lighter than the Urbano. So new, that I could not find any reviews on it. There is a sale that ends tonight (1-15-18) and the sale price is the same price as the Urbano. Differences I see between the Liberte and the Urbano are: Liberte has quick release wheels vs. Urbano nutted wheels. Seats are different. The Liberte has thinner tires (1.5 width) with better tread than Urbano with (2.0 width) tires. Liberte is bare aluminum (probably clear coated) finish with red or black striping vs Urbano Gray or Red finish. I think the Liberte is saving the 1 lb with the thinner tires, the hollow style bottom bracket, and lighter crank arms from what I can see from the specs. (the specs chart lists it as 22 lbs, but it is advertised as 23 lbs) I just ordered the Urbano yesterday in Gray over the Liberte, mostly because I preferred the Gray finish of the Urbano over the bare aluminum of the Liberte, and the seat on the Urbano looks like it has more padding from the pictures. If the Liberte was offered in a Gray or Black, I would have probably gone with that one. Just don't like the bare finish. www.euromini.bike/shop?gclid=Cj0KCQiAv_HSBRCkARIsAGaSsrDptgjbRD8yleh2g3hud5Jra0wuni3kQ6QoAYJXprRUrk4qhnYSK2oaAr-vEALw_wcB
@@Snake-ms7sj I'm in-between the Campo (because I love the yellow finish) and the Urbano. Is there much of a difference in your opinion? Should I skip the Campo and go for the Urbano because of quality and comfort of ride or are they about the same?
Love your video, very informative. Wanna buy few units from them. I just want to check with you prior making the purchase that you still recommend Urbano right?
i posted a review on all 3 of their bikes but the most expensive one is the best. it all depends why you are buying it and how far you plan to ride. I used to ride 20 miles on this but it was too hard.. these are made for local rides.. I will use this to ride 3 miles to mom's house and back.. low to the ground. handles sidewalk bumps well and i feel safe. I use my bigger more expensive bike for longer rides on the bike path.. this bike will give you a workout!
when I did these videos the company was rather new and I don't think that model was out then. I looked it up.. I would never spend 479$$ for any folding bile.. you can get some very nice bikes for that amount of money...
