Urban exploration: 9-day exploring tour of Europe's abandoned places (subtitles available) Episode #188
In February 2017, we went on our biggest urbex road trip to that time: in a group of three (Marco, Till, and Cornelius), we traveled almost 3,000 kilometers to document 16 abandoned places in several European countries. We entered military prohibited zones, ventured deep underground, and got in trouble with the law - on several occasions. Five years ago, we already shared our experiences on RU-vid in our very first urbex series. Now, in 2022, we decided to repost the old series as a feature-length documentary! For that, Till recorded a new voice-over and Marco gave the videos some polishing. This film now features all 16 episodes in a row (it is BWT season 1, so to say). There's a weird bug at 54:36 (at the beginning of the French bunker episode)! For some reason, the screen stays white for 25 seconds while the audio is still working. Just imagine our team walking on a country road at this point and then through the woods at dusk. And while we're at it: many are wondering why Cornelius isn't joining our latest explorations anymore, and why he can only be seen in our older videos like this series. That's because Cornelius is becoming a teacher! We actually see him a lot nowadays, and he's already working at a school, teaching little kids to be curious. As a teacher in Germany, you're obliged to obey the law, so he can't risk being caught while trespassing. But he is living our message and spreading it to the next generation!

Lots of adventures and wonderful places, I just don't really like places like the mine, the banker because it gives me agony. This is a beautiful retrospective film of your first big adventure, it was great to see these places again in anthology form. @@bwturbex I have no doubt that your Italy episodes will be wonderful, it is a part of the world I have enjoyed visiting from time to time, along with France, Portugal, Spain, and Greece. I have been to Austria only once, and fully intend to visit Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, and more of Switzerland once Covid eases back. I usually spend a few weeks whenever I visit Europe…but, of course I do not get the opportunity to see much of the abandoned parts of these countries, although I did get to explore an abandoned Synagogue in Istanbul, which I stumbled into quite by accident. I have loved your work from the start…and I know you will continue to show me the hidden wonders of your urbex world for a long time to come. This video compilation reminded me of something you said to me a few years ago about wanting to try your hand at a more cinematic movie/documentary style…it looks to me as if you are finding your way to that goal. Hi Marco & Till. You should definitely be so proud of this video and yes, you really do a whole series of re-edits with new commentary. Hopefully more with more of the team, including Cornelius and Felix too. As you know, I really love you work and it was so great to see those places that seemed so long ago because of all your following adventures since. Despite only following you for the past 18 months or so ago, where I'd seen a couple of the Michael & Brains videos prior. Ever since then, I was hooked. As a Proud Patreon supporter and now the owner of my second Calendar I could not be more prouder. I often telling people about your work and always encourage people to watch you videos. As your hard work and tireless dedication to this amazing craft is nothing short of Spectacular. Your are an Inspiration to the youth of today, weather they just be curious or even to explore for themselves. Thank you for your curiosity to investigate the many buildings that were abandoned or being refurbished for a new life. Especially appreciate seeing the structures that were soon to be demolished after you filmed. Very creative in the filming visuals as well as the spoken word about these unique structures or vehicles. Bravo for the way you handled the nosey cop whom I figure would have caused a lot of problems if given a chance. This truely is a wonderful journey into the places i am sure many persons would have enjoyed exploring with you as I have just expierenced.

I started watching and thought I'd watch a couple episodes, and get on with my day. But no. I couldn't stop! I thought I'd gone back and watched all the old stuff, but I don't recall seeing the one about the spring water bottling plant. That one was new to me. I did enjoy your videos very interesting the sanatorium was just much like the ones in Britain I spent all my younger life in a sanatorium with TB it's a horrible condition people were dying just like the virus today I went into the hospital when I was 4 I did not come out until I was 11 I am 73 now I watch your adventure all the time

the sanitarium was huge and beautiful, too bad it can't be fixed up into a hotel or something. I like the abandoned homes the best but I'll watch all your videos cause ya'll are so good at what you do! And I already commented before but I'll repeat it...yes! do more like this.

Enjoyed this very much. I have seen a couple of these before but missed quite a few. The French bunker is a shame. I visited in the early 2000s when it was in pristine condition inside; the army was still keeping a close eye on it and we had to get permission from them to visit. It is so sad to see the blackened interior from the recuperation of the copper wiring. Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon!

@@bwturbex There are plenty. Many of them are now museums, refurbished, and open for visits but there are some that are abandoned and not quite the mess as this latest one. I'm sure you have your sources to advise you where to go. I would also suggest the Maginot Line forts in the Maritime Alps near the Italian border. They are in great condition due to the climate and in some the guns remain. Once again, some museums, some not. The Vallo Alpino (Italian Wall) is fascinating with long tunnels - no guns or armor though. Regards!

Tunnels and caves are definitely a pain. We used to use glow sticks, they last for a bout 6 hours. Although if you dont need much time we found glow in the dark stars also work😂
