Our summer holidays are over! Well, it was not really a holiday since we were out exploring basically the whole time - but we did not upload much to our channel. That will change now. We are focusing on editing again! In the second installment of Abandoned Italy: Sardinia we are exploring a former US army base and discover an abandoned military project. Let us know your opinion about our new video!
Thank you BWT for showing this place to us. Historic place like this should be preserved and shouldn’t be littered and vandalized. The scenery is great and very relaxing to look at. Good job BWT, awesome video ❤️
My husband was stationed at that site in 1976 (among 30 other guys) in charge of the radio equipment and, on the side, he ran the bar among other things. He said it was really interesting and the view was absolutely beautiful. Nothing underground and not so secret. We really enjoyed the video. I wish someone had video of how it was back then.
This site is part of the 486L Mediterranean Communications System (MEDCOM). The system was commissioned by the US Air Force in 1966. Federal Electric Corporation (ITT) was the primary contractor for the construction of the entire system. The view is quite nice from here. I will have to check it out someday.
That "you left your shit america" graffiti is amazing. That photo with the sun shining through and that graffiti was insanely well composed and I'd buy a print of that to hang on my wall.
I truly enjoy it when you get this kind of installation to film. You take such care to show the contrasts between Nature and the things we build. As always, your use of light and shape is exquisite. The music you have incorporated is perfect, and well placed. I grew up in the Cold War, and I appreciate your summation, you always bring knowledge and a touch of philosophy to your films…and it works. Thank you.🖤🇨🇦
I think I learn more history from BWT than I do from my history teacher. But for real, this video was perfect as always! For me they’re like therapy. As a full time student with four extra curriculars, the days can become very monotonous. But every night I watch your videos and share your adventures and I imagine that some day, I’d be there myself. Gut gemacht!!!!
How you guys are not at the million subscribers is beyond my comprehension! You're amazing! Keep up the good work. I enjoy every content you upload. It always feels like I'm exploring with you. Good job! 🤜🤛
Very well done guys. Cold war stuff is always very interesting to see. I collect cold war fallout shelter things like signs and old civil defense rations here in the U.S. thank you for sharing. Cheers
Heck yeah! We really enjoyed filming and editing this one. We are already working on the third and final Sardinia video. You don't have to wait a month for that one, promised.
hey at 11:42 on the map in the UK the place named Binbrook I live a few miles from, is a good exploration if you ever come to the UK id be happy to show you around there.
Great video and awsome location, guys 👏. The view from the dishes of the antenna belonging to the former US military base and the drone footage are just amazing. Tills explanations are super. See you in the next video (nice and creepy preview). Many greetings from Northern Germany to Saxony 👏👍😊
Very cool find. I bet the star gazing up there must be amazing. Hope your summer was amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing the videos of your adventures.
You are very welcome! Can't wait to show you part three of this mini-series!

Fantastic video once again! Maybe could have shown bit more the place itself and made like 5 min longer video. Looking forward for your next video! 👏🏼👍🏼
Ahhhh this video was too short! Would love to have watched a video twice as long. Your work is always wonderful. Makes my heart ache a little knowing that I will never go there in this lifetime, but being able to see it through your videos is just awsome. Great job you guys!
Sorry but even a 20 minute video takes way longer to produce than you might think ;D If you wanna see more urban exploration make sure to check out our previous videos!
@@bwturbex I absolutely understand! Your work is so amazing that 20 minutes just flies by. Thank you for taking us on your journeys, it's truly fascinating! Take care of yourselves :D
Someone else commented it & I agree- these folks are the National Geographic of Urbex! It’s true!!! These videos are just in another universe with even the biggest channels!! The humble & respectful approach to document & record the history, the backstory to the places & things, the artistic quality of the photography & videography - it’s just incredible!!!! Each video is a delight! It feels almost like actually being there in person & I always learn something interesting!! KUDOS! This is pretty much the only Urbex channel I can stand to watch, if I do watch any videos on other channels I have to mute the volume & fast forward through a lot. Their juvenile approach to the entire project, the inappropriate music, the way they have to handle, poke, prod & move objects, the commotion between the explorers, their ignorance as to the history of the places & things, their disregard of dangerous situations like black mold etc is just beyond annoying & makes it just impossible for me to enjoy looking at the places filmed. This channel has NONE of those issues - AT ALL!!! There’s just absolutely no comparison to be perfectly honest! 👏👏👏👏👏
Videos always amaze me! Then again, these guys pay attention to detail. Love how they always put ambiant sounds of the surroundings under the drone footage! This is good videography
Sehr interessantes Video.
Thanks, Carol! In fact, the structures were still quite safe - even after all of these years. Although we have a drone, sometimes we want to have the "bird's eye view" ourselves, haha.
Wow guys the footage up that ladder was perfect it felt like I was climbing with you great job Till ! The view! Wow the terrifying history of this structure brings back memories of drills where we had to hide under our desk we were just little kids terrified of that bomb!!!!
Your narrative is wonderful. Obviously English is not your first language but you are so amazing at vocabulary that you always astound me (I have two University degrees and you have such a good command of speaking the English language, it makes me wish I had put more effort into learning German, which one of my parents spoke.) I tune in just to learn more German and to hear you describe things.
Great video guys !! Crazy place a lot of history here .....and I agree lets learn from our past I remember those days of NATO and the Cold War glad its over and nothing Nuclear happened scary times !! Great video as always the next one looks AWESOME !! 👍👍
Hey BTW, First of all I love your work. Is it ok to download and save these videos or view ofline? I know I am gonna be laughed at for asking this but I ask out of respect.
I really envy you guys. You get to go to all these amazing places! But in all seriousness Please Be Safe! All your videos are gold. Stay Safe and keep on discovering.
Wow! You guys are such an 'Awe Inspiring' young group❣❣❣ If I were younger... 😉 There are some things I'd challenge instead of change! Thank you for ALL your Beautiful - Educational & Ethereal [Dreamy] Videos 💕 Be Well & Be Safe! I look forward to future videos & content I haven't yet seen... I'll be searching high & low for more ~ Peace from Northern California 🍁🍃🌾🍂🌻🍁🍃🌾🍂
BTW - 😟 Sad history... Makes me as an American very uneasy. War is a filthy business! But - Crazy that no one knew they were there, especially during construction of this giant, however, I don't know the surrounding area & how far away from civilians this structure is....[?] It may be 'So Far Away' that no one could see them, but someone had to have known of the sales of equipment & supplies & usage of building equipment, & so on... & aircrafts!!! 🤔 Curious.........
Local Sardinian people knew the site and could saw it from the valley. But they didn't know what the US Air Force was doing up there because of all the secrecy. That's why people told a ton of rumors.
Hey from sunnyzona, your work is amazing. Thank you very much!! When the pictures are the story, why does RU-vid, downgrade the resolution. It won't let me change to higher quality that your work deserves and needs to match the efforts you put into the documentary
Thanks a bunch! Our videos are shot and produced in 4k resolution. In the RU-vid player you have the possibility to change the video quality to maximum.
@@bwturbex Strange don't you think, I thought there would be some for a complex that important that must have been regularly handling classified traffic.
Typical of the USA when a facility is deemed obsolete just pack up and walk away. The proper way to do things in my opinion would be to dismantle the facility return the site unencumbered to the Italians as a place of beauty it once was. I thought the graffiti directed to the Americans very appropriate.
It was outstanding but it seemed like a sightseeing vid, you didn't climb one fence/wall, no dogs, you parked in the middle. You did climb the antenna and shame on me for being surprised the young lady followed you up. I knew a girl when I was 10 that might have followed me up but none since.
We are happy to do chill explorations as well as nerve-wracking ones. But if you want to shoot a documentary it sucks if you have to run from dogs and security all the time, haha. And you are talking about Sascha, she is a proper explorer doing badass stuff.
I think that's nothing you can "just do" but something that needs years of practice. Anyway, English speaking natives and other people usually don't have a problem with German accents. It's more like the German speaking guys themselves who cringe when they hear another German talking English. Und deinem Namen nach denke ich, dass du auch zu den Deutsch-Muttersprachlern gehörst, oder?
