I dont think there is soul in the world that has not brought in the new year to this song!!! that is a major impact to have! Way to go Europe thank you for you gift to all of us!
I was on one of their shows this summer (2012) and wasn't expecting much, but I was totally blown away. I've seen them before but was specially impressed by Joey's singing this time. Of all the bands I listen to, a lot of the singers aren't that good live as on the record, but Joey is.

Europe is way better than bon jovi and the reason they dont do many ballads...they do a couple but good ones, quality better than quantity, plus still rock...
For me Europe is better than Bon Jovi, they are better musicians and have a Progressive Rock sound that Bon Jovi never had. Also, Bon Jovi never had John Norum... Sambora is a good guitar player, but Norum is one of the best. Europe would be one of the biggest band in the world if they were americans or from England, it is hard to compete with american or English bands and they did really well. Even though they are similar, Bon Jovi is more pop and Europe more Progressive Rock.
@bayoubengal1961 4 only Ian Hagland havent play from the start, Tony play berfore him . John play from begining and left and Kee playing, but newyear1999 they play togever John and Kee after John have play .
Totally disagree. It's very rare, when the first hit is such huge. They can't do hardly any better afterwards and will be always compared to first sucess. Now to go with new records and tours it's much harder. You should also think about, it's live and the end of concert therefore singer has gave already all he can and voice couldn't be so fresh as on studiorecord. Hope you go to concert and you'll see - you change your mind.

no way that is Joey Tempest mate, it's a pale imitation, you're probably not old enough to remember Europe as it was back in the day..... this is ok, but cannot compare ever...
