Europe vs. US food regulations are Scary Different

Why is food generally better in Europe than in the US?
This is because of the significant difference in food regulations between the two regions. The US takes a more reactive approach to food additive regulations which means food additives are only disallowed once something goes wrong.
On the other hand, the EU only allows additives that have been proven to be safe and non-harmful.
Take for example the ingredients used in Mac and Cheese in the US and EU. Nowhere in the ingredient list of the US version does it mention cheese, but it does have yellow food coloring 5 and 6 whereas the EU version has actual cheese powder as an ingredient.

Its the active regulations as well as the cultural standard which the regulations are often predicated on. The US has a lot of good dishes but a lot of those dishes are modified versions of food from other cuisines since US is a country of immigrants. Nevertheless they are American inventions. New York pizza, cheesesteaks, the different subs, chicken parm, etc are all American inventions and therefore part of the American food culture. I agree with people not knowing to cook in the US and loosely regulated, highly convenient fast food is a big reason for that. Also work life balance has gone to shit in the past decade or so. @@PurushNahiMahaPurush Cheese casseroles existed in Southern Europe and Medieval England long before Columbus went to America. The adaption the US eats as Mac&Cheese probably has nothing to do with the original recipes as the most recipes don't call for strong tasting cheeses, but the concept, cheese casserole was quite surely brought to America by British and Italian immigrants. There are a number of criteria that restaurants me to eat before they can earn a coveted Michelin star. Of course, this is an award that is given for outstanding cooking. Some of the most important factors that the judges will take into account include the quality of the ingredients, the mastery of exceptional cooking techniques, and the harmony of flavors. In addition, the consistency of the quality of the food over time will be taken into account. Typically, the judges look at the quality of the food across the entire menu instead of just focusing on the restaurant’s specialty.
