Really enjoying the last few A&C shows. Thanks for giving us this unexpected look at new shows with Jay and Donald. Keep them coming. A+ in every way....
Jay and Donald are exceptional on their own, but together, they are truly outstanding. Each brings a wealth of automotive knowledge and expertise. Gentlemen, thank you for sharing. 😇❤️
Jay’s comment about new car height reminds me of what I told the Mrs recently. With the big wheels and two box SUV styles we are all driving 1930 Model A’s again!
@@michaelopere5424 You have to remember that America has completely different standards for vehicles than everywhere else in the world. It has always been that way and unfortunately it's not likely to change anytime soon.
We bought a M5 in Gibraltar in 1988. Drove it all over Europe for over 200,000 miles. Lots of 100+ MPH trips on the motorways. My girlfriend’s brother totaled it on the Elisabeth bridge. He claimed the brakes were “wrong” when he locked it up on black ice. Later it came out that the only other car he had ever driven was a Trabant.
So glad to see these videos. Mr Osborne has forgot more than we will ever learn. And he's a major class act. I have learned a lot from this series of videos.
This is such a great series gentlemen, thank you. It’s always a pleasure watching a couple of real car aficionados banter. An adult version of so much childish stuff out there. Thank you
Star turn for yours truly was your comment Mr Osbourne . Alfa Romeo was the orginal sporting sedan manufacturer . In the early 1960s Alfa were really class.
The E28 M5 was more of high-speed point A to B tool. That heavy lump upfront magnified the understeer issues. I sold mine when they weren't worth more than 15k with high milage. I don't look back at it with any particular fondness except for the engine note at full chat, it was special.
Few years ago guy in found, original state, full workin' M5 in Spain for 5k. yeah, bit used. fully workin and givin. Same as this but Euro spec. 5k. I paid 4y ago 1,2k for 523 no rust. E39. Thats the point. Nice episode guys. Thanks.
Same, I’m sick of RU-vid channels showing the kids the cars I’ve been waiting to buy. I keep getting priced out just before they fall into my price range.
Good evening Gentlemen . Well , l drove an M5 in the day and was very disappointed ! My close friend had a Ferrari 440 (?) Auto and loved it ! I much preferred my Series 1 4.2 XJ6 auto to the manual , that gearbox was so heavy and slow . As for the Mercedes ? Another friend had a 6.3 V8 but my goodness , didn't it rust ! Thankyou both 😊
Hey Jay, I know I'm just some random commenter and idk if you'll even read this but Jay, I hope you are okay! Your mind is as sharp as a sword and I want you to stay strong, please take breaks. I know constantly having to correct Donald is annoying LOL jk, but remember to take time for yourself and enjoy life too! The show will be always be here when you want it and all of us fans are there for you no matter what!
11:03 😂 “bucky the beaver look” Spot on! I always call it the MoleRat front end. My car has a Ferrari transmission 😏☺️ Ill take the 400i please. The colour (nothing beats a brown car!), the style, the sound, the soul, the passion and the whole experience…. As good as those germans may be, they’ll never match all that.
They don't want to play Donalds' theme song apparently... Awww the heck with it, *Donald* - just belt out your theme song LIVE in the next one! I am enjoying this series with great friends Donald and Jay - but I hope all are well in both camps, too. - Ed on the Ridge
I take the Mercedes 8 days a Week. This build-series - the W124 - is most likely the best car in the world of cars. And the 500E - or E500 which it is called sometime - is the best modell in this W124-serie. Super expensive today (winter 2024) so I could easy choose an E400 (also V8) or even an E320/E300 (straight 6) also.
Sorry guys, to contradict all the encomiums below, but you wasted the opportunity to capture how truly special the M5 is. That engine is not the "legendary BMW (SOHC) straight six", it's the M1 engine! It was lifted directly from the M1 which was designed and purpose built for serious racing. Drive the M5 and you'll experience the heart and lungs and sizzling spirit of a thoroughbred. Subsequent M5's paled in comparison. The engine in the 500, while awesome, feels more production derived.
This series about cars in the Audrain Auto Museum is really interesting. But wouldn't it make more sense for Jay to fly to Rhode Island to film a bunch of episodes instead of shipping a bunch of cars to Los Angeles?
Somewhat surprised people mistaking the Ferrari for a Rover SDI. For all its faults the SDI was a good looking car as was the P5. My father had both and Triumph 2000 and the 2.5pi. both good looking cars as was the Dolomite. The demise of Triumph is a shame.
I'm sad to hear Mr Osborne promoting automatics. I hate automatics. If I had the money to get a 400i I'd want a manual trans. I also don't mind the brown color. For those who were paying attention, when they were talking about the Mercedes, the editor decided to show the interior of the BMW. Thank you.
I've always thought Edsel should have been the top of the line Ford...instead of a brand. But I wasn't born quite yet, so one one asked me.... do love the 4 seat Ferrari and this BMW is from when BMW wasn't scary when old, same for that Merc. Ah, the good old days, when good marques really were good...until they weren't.
