They make what at a gas station? PIZZA? GARLIC KNOTS? BUBBLE TEA? WHAT? TikTok: / raphaelgomesx Shorts: / @raphaelgomesx Instagram: / raphael Contact: raphael@raphael-gomes.com
And for us europeans, America doesn’t seem real, even when you’re there!! We almost feel like America is Sims in real life, specially if you come from a small european country, which is mine and Raphael’s case. In Portugal, we didn’t even have drive thrus a few years ago.
One reason why you can buy so much in American gas stations is because road trips is common in America. Many people drive to go on vacation, business trips, to see family ,etc. Plus we have many truck drivers that cook meals in their truck and some people have RVs with a bathroom in it so of course they need toilet paper. Or if it’s late a night and you need something right away.
I was just about to comment that but yess, since the US is so big people like to do road-trips and they get some snacks while they put gasoline. And also the reason why some snacks and drinks are so big is because they are meant for families, for example it’s better to get a big size and everyone share than to get 3 small bags
@@CricketEngland don’t know why you are so pressed at someone calling it gasoline. Americans do call it gasoline. Hence why it’s called a gas station in America.
@@CricketEngland stop being so mean and rude. You just love to comment about American eating habits and act like you are right. Do you eat healthy? Go ahead and be pressed somewhere else s d stop commenting the same thing.
@@CricketEngland “Petrol and gasoline are actually the same thing; just different words. These two words have the same meaning, with the only difference being in the places where the words are used. The term 'petrol' is used in UK, India and a few other places, while 'gasoline' or 'gas for short' is used in the United States.” If you hate America so much then don’t watch videos on a European who has moved to the US ghost creates content about food. Go back and focus on your cricket.
@@CricketEngland your lame response is to call me a dummy? Well sorry for being American. And sorry you feel like you are the say all for everything. Go ahead and be obsessed with being right. It won’t make you a better person.
I love that you just jump into the video with no intro, no explanation, no nothing. I have no time to wonder whether I even want to watch this, I’m already invested. We’re already in the store.
Boy, just wait until you see a Buc-ee's. You could easily make an hour long or 2 part video. Make sure to get their BBQ, Try some of their brand of Salsa, some Salt Water Taffee, A Southern Kolache, maybe some of the beef jerky, and OBVIOUSLY the Bever Nuggets.
You HAVE to go to Bucees especially since you're in Florida right now!! You will have a blast trying the foods! YOU MUST TRY THE CINNAMON ROLLS and if you love jerky, they have their own jerky type deli!!! They'll let you try it before you buy it as well! Then, make sure you try the candied pecans, bbq sandwiches, chicken burrito, tacos...TRY IT ALL! PLEASE GO TO BUCEES!!!
If you're visiting weird gas stations, you should visit Buc-ee's. That place is crazy. It's like a gas station, meets a grocery store, meets a furniture store, meets a home and gardening store.
Raph is so expressive and his reactions are so genuine. He just feels like a personality that can light up any situation (despite the social anxiety). 😊
In Poland as well as in the Czech Republic you can buy alcohol at gas stations all the time. As far as I know, you can buy booze at gas stations pretty much everywhere except for Norway, Sweden, and Finland. However, there might be a time restriction like in Slovenia where you can buy booze till 09:00 PM.
same for texas in america... can only buy liquor until 9p and not at all on sundays oh and its only sold at actual liquor stores not at gas stations that illegal here lol SUCKS!
@@ellesweetness5629 I think most states repealed Sunday alcohol ban. It's just later in day now, around noon you can buy booze. They just don't want you buying booze when people going to church for some reason.
In Germany you can buy alcohol at the gas station. Especially late at night and on the weekends it becomes handy, since our supermarkets aren’t open on Sunday 😅
That place has nothing on Buccees. Come to Texas and let us show you what a real convenient store should be. People in America shop for their home at gas stations when they dont want to go to a big store. Or if you missed something for a Holiday meal and the big stores are closed. They are called convenient stores now not gas stations.
There are two Bucees in FL - Daytona and St. Augustine. You will lose your mind. Bring lots of money - you’ll have to try it all. BBQ, kolaches, candied nuts, fudge, Beaver nuggets, and OMG the wall of jerky!!
The Jalapeno Popper puffs aren't supposed to have cheese in them, they are based on Jalapeno Poppers which are cheese filled Jalapenos thats get deep fried! Their really good and I would suggest trying to real thing if you like spice! Loved the video though and was happy to see you go to a Wawa, it's me and my mom's favorite place to get coffee and road trip snacks!
You need to go to Buc-ees in Texas. 120 gas pumps and then there is the store which is incredible, they have everything and it is all good. Wa-Wa is kind of a knock off of Buc-ees. You will love it.
Up a little more north (Ohio, WV, etc), we have Sheetz gas stations. They sell everything and have really good, made to order food! All kinds of sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, subs, wraps, sides, pizza, milkshakes, etc and you can customize them all! It's not a huge store like Buc-ees but the food is surprisingly good.
These places aren't just a gas station..their are considered "convenience stores". Basically like a miniature grocery store where you can get select grocery items. And if you can drive to a regular grocery store or liquor store to buy alcohol, why not at a gas station/convenience store? You're driving either way regardless of the type of store. 😂
When you find a stray dog or cat that's malnourished and pitiful... and you're holding it for a day before trying to leave it at a shelter. Before you realize you're going to keep it... That's why it's great having a mini dog/cat food section in a gas station.
I like Wawa's too, when there's no Sheetz around. Then I cry inside and shout repeatedly, "Why aren't you a sheetz?!" Then the cashier quietly asks his supervisor if they should call the police or not.
I've seen a lot of videos of people going to Buc-ee's. They have everything, from plushies and pyjamas, to pulled pork and candied nuts made fresh in-house. This RU-vid couple, Kara and Nate, made a great video on it. If I had to choose a wild gas station to go, Buc-ee's would be it.
To be fair, Wawa started off as a dairy farm. They originally were small stores, no gas, and had a deli counter. They had their own milk and dairy products. Then added convenience stuff, like candy and basic goods, like toilet paper. Over time, they added the gas (late 80s or early 90s) and expanded the counter service, removing the sliced deli. I still go for coffee. :D
I assume you used talk to text lol, for a minute I was so confused til I realized you said "gas station" and ur phone said "gestation" (pregnancy)... 😂😂😂😂 I love accidental humor
In Germany and poland you actually can buy alcohol at the gas station it is really popular because People often go there to buy their stuff on sundays and supermarkets Are always closed then
I love how so much stuff is new to him and he gets amazed over some of our products and stuff... He literally jus makes me smile bc he's hilarious as well ❤ It's fun to watch 😅
Some place in Texas is a place called Buc-ees. I've seen a couple of vlogs on it. Like WaWa it's a gas station but it's huge. They have just about anything you would want plus their own brands . If you're ever in Texas look it up.
I became a fan probably only like 6 months ago, and have now watched most of your videos! I really love your channel. Thank you for posting so much lately!
I have only heard and seen things about Buc-ee’s in Texas, but from what I’ve heard it’s worth it. In the Midwest, go to QuikTrip (QT), and def try the breakfast pizza. It’s so good! And their taquitos, especially the chicken one.
Love this! I use the app to order. Wawa is known for the deli made foods & orderable not for packaged shelf foods. Fun video!♡ The cheese & meat sticks taste best in one bite together. Sheetz is another gas station to try!
I just discovered your videos on RU-vid tube about a month ago. I enjoyed so many of your videos especially you posting of your experience coming to America. I have to tell you that Wawa is the major convenience store in PA, DE, & NJ. Not all Wawa' s have gas stations . Wawa is like where we like to go for our morning coffee ☕ & lunch hoagies . We have 7 Eleven too but Wawa rules in DE, PA & south Jersey. I love your reaction to Wawa. I have my favorite hoagie deli spot but I love 💕 that I can order breakfast , lunch or dinner pick up another item & by the time I pay the Wawa employee who are always extra friendly my food order is prepared & on the counter for me to pick up. I just went yesterday. So many things to order. I don't know how they do it so effectively & All Wawa' s are consistent across the board. If you go to any Wawa you know what you are going to get . Wawa expanding into FL to attract the Northeastern snow birds who have migrated to FL. They know what Wawa means ❤️ 🤗
Drive to a Buccees. We have a few in Florida now. None close to me, sadly... Be prepared to be insanely overwhelmed, but there is an entire wall of jerky, they smoke their own meats, and their chicken salad is the best I have had, (outside of mine.) It is a full market, they stand by the cleanest bathrooms ever, and they also have a mini department store. Worth every penny, and every gallon of gas!
I was in Orlando two weeks ago! Going into wawaa and 7eleven absolutely blew my mind!! So much choice and flavour options it’s insane to me and I would literally book a plane ticket to go back to see them and grocery stores 😂
You gotta try Sheetz if you get a chance. It’s only in the Southeast, though. But if you do, definitely try their hot food, particularly the breakfast sandwiches, and the Sheetz brand sodas. Lots of crazy flavors. My favorite was the caramel apple, but that was discontinued. My second favorite is the pineapple. ***Edit: Sadly, the soda has been discontinued. RIP. But the food is still good.
I agree with the suggestion to try a Sheetz, they originally began in Altoona, Pennsylvania but only as a sandwich place, there were no gas stations until later on. And I tend to tie in the Sheetz locations with the western and central areas of Pennsylvania with the western half of Maryland and the S.W. to N.W. parts of Virginia and likely West Va. too, although I'll take anyone's word for their being down in the southeast region also.
Raphael surprised gas stations sell pizza 🍕 just had me. Pizza and hot dogs are the mainstay of mini-market gas stations and for decades. However, like Raphael, I’m surprised at variety if drinks offered at Wawa. I think I need to roadtrip across the country, and soon! 😂
glad you loved Wawa! It was a deli before a gas station, so that's why it's so phenomenal. I recommend going to buc-ees. It's like a Walmart sized gas station unlike anything else. Got to finally go to one on a road trip to Tennessee and we spent hours and hundreds$ there lololol. You'd be in paradise. They make amazing brisket, jerky and fudge!!!
As your deciding on your cold drink I can't keep my eyes off the combos in the background 😋.. we don't have these in Ontario,Canada anymore .. unless I want to pay an arm and a leg at some import stores 😢
This was hilarious! You would not believe the food choices at T-Mobile Park where I watch the Seattle Mariners play baseball. I hope you’ll explore stadium food sometime.
Raph, if it makes you feel better, most Americans aren't fighting over the shelf stable cheese products, either. 🤣 Think of that cheese stick as a slice of Velveeta cheese. Velveeta isn't usually eaten straight and is more commonly melted with other ingredients to make cheese sauce or spicy nacho dip.
Spending 100 dollars at a gas station is believable when you buy gasoline but it is funny that you spent 100 dollars at a gas station and did not buy gasoline
In Australia we have gas stations called OTR and some have a subway inside and other things like Wendy's but our Wendy's is completely different to America they sell hotdogs and milkshakes and ice cream, there is also OTR's that have a crispy cream place inside, they also have lots of grocery items inside 💖😋
I’d recommend a few so that you’ll see the varying degrees of types of gas stations to try, and some are ones that I’ve been to that I like; along with ones I’ve never been to. Here is the mix of the ones I’ve been to, and ones that haven’t: loves, 7-11, am pm, circle k, shell, Buc-ee’s, extra mile, 76, Valero, speedway, chevron, Sheetz; and more.
I'm actually surprised that Herrs is as expensive over there as it is in the Netherlands. Can you please do a Herr's crips test? I've only seen a few here; Caroline reaper, jalapeno, double cheese and deep dish pizza. I was in Florida last year and this brand was nowhere to be found :(
Herrs chips are made in the Northeast US, in Pennsylvania. He was in Flordia, but Wawa is a northeastern chain with some locations in FL which is why they had Herrs. I haven't seen them in too many places throughout the US outside the Northeast really
Rapha, I just discovered you recently but your pure, innocent, child like joy with trying new American finds makes my heart so happy. As or the Dots ice cream you should try it at a sports stadium (my town has a stand at the zoo too). I find it better than the kind sold at gas stations and grocery stores. My town also has a few truck stops, one, Loves, has a McDonald’s and subway in it.
LOVED THIS VIDEO!!!!! Subscribed!!!! Notifications on baby!!! You have to go to Sheetz!!!!! I’ve been there once in Pennsylvania. Gas station/ convenience store. It’s amazing!
Idk…as an American I was actually blown away by the gas stations on the interstate in Spain. They’d have like FULL nice restaurants in there on top of car-ride snacks! And everything was super clean and nice. America May have variety of snacks, but idk if they’re necessarily “better”
Some of them even have hotels. That's because we use bus transport a lot and the drivers make stops on those gas stations with restaurants. It's common here to make bus trips so the company of the bus makes like a deal with the gas stations they will stop by so all the people go to breakfast, lunch or dinner there until they reach they final destination. Of course you are not obligated to buy anything there, some people bring food on their backpacks but yeah they make money for sure.
Definitely a treat because Wawa is currently only on the east coast in 7 state building new in NC...A DAILY WAWA RUN IS A MUST... i live in new Jersey and i have 3 wawas all within in a mile of each other/ my house😊 the prices due vary whichever store/state u go to...PROUD ❤ u did a drink mix at machine😂👏🏾...there's so much more food u can try that they make that is amazing🥰
