Please react to the (paramedic force 5 bridge creek and moore, Oklahoma tornado May 3 1999). It's the first responders response to the 1999 moore, Oklahoma F5 tornando. I currently work as an EMT with EMSA in tulsa, Oklahoma. We use this video for training new hires on mass casualty response. The camera crews riding with these ambulance crews were making a Tv show on the day and life of first responders the day moore got hit. Most people have no idea what happen in the aftermath of a tornado. This video is a great watch to understand what it takes to triage a mass casualty incident.

"Auntie" Anne Beiler was Pennsylvania Amish from Lancaster County where there is large population of Amish. Amish are Christians but are very conservative & don't allow musical instruments in their church services. Depending on sect of Amish, some very strict communities don't allow electricity, telephones, televisions, or drive cars & only use horse & buggies. There are 1,200 Auntie Anne's store locations across U.S. & 600 international store locations. They make a mix you can buy if you want to make pretzels at home. Throughout Pennsylvania especially there are many different people who sell soft pretzels & are found in almost every farmer's market, sports stadiums, etc., but only some are Auntie Anne's. Personally, I like pretzels better from my local farmer's market made by a local Amish family. It wasn't sausage roll, it was a hot dog pretzel bite. (Sausage & hot dogs are 2 different things in U.S. though have similar shape.)

I worked at the mall as a younger person and would eat Auntie Anne’s every day. They’re so sweet and buttery you don’t really need the dipping sauces. The lemonade is amazing!

Fun fact: There are 148 sects of the Amish peoples, including Mennonites(that use some forms of technology) and Hutterites. They are in all 50 states, several Canadian provinces, the Caribbean and Mexico. And they are devout Christians

Before COVID, you could just walk up to Auntie Anne's and they'd always have a sample tray loaded with bite sized pieces of those cinnemon sugar pretzels.

I’m old enough to remember Auntie Anne’s when they sold said pretzels with/without salt, cinnamon sugar, with butter, sweet glaze (it was grotesque even then), cheese dips. Drinks were basic sodas and lemonade. Having said that, dear God, the pretzels were extraordinarily good. The new additions - especially the sandwiches with pretzel bread - not only make my mouth water but seem to be completely in line with the times.

Auntie Anne's is a popular pretzel chain with locations all over the world. There are 2000+ Auntie Anne's locations in 26 countries. The first Auntie Anne's opened in Pennsylvania, USA in 1988. The company has been franchising since 1989 and growing steadily ever since.

4:15 The Amish are "Technologically Impaired" as Weird Al puts it in the song "Amish Paradise" which is a really good place to start if you want a broad view of Amish Culture (I live near Lancaster Pennsylvania, and Yes, the Amish are aware of the song and also find it to be hilarious) But Lancaster Pennsylvania is kind of the most famous Amish area in the States, and you could learn a lot just by looking into that area. They just don't use "Modern Technology" so it's a "Live off the Land Lifestyle" and they are renowned Carpenters. Chances are, if you see a Barn in Pennsylvania... The Amish probably built it. They drive Horse and Buggies, and Grocery Stores in the area will have straight up Stables or Horse Tying Poles in the parking lots for the Amish.
@karateman302
@karateman302 4 месяца назад
To expand on this a little bit. They are a community that is descended from immigrants that were from culturally German areas, Alsace in France and the Germanic parts of Switzerland, which follow a Protestant Christian belief which generally rejects modern technology amongst other things (each community has its own regulations on what is allowed). As a native of the Southeastern Pennsylvania region which Philadelphia is located in, you can find Amish vendors in a lot of Farmer's Markets. Reading Terminal in the heart of Philadelphia is a good place to find them. They typically do commute from Lancaster because the Amish in that county are a little more liberal than other communities you can find in the US so do allow the usage of technology for utilitarian purposes (aka automobiles to transport goods to the city). Auntie Anne's can be found in many places across the US (mostly malls) but I would actually highly recommend visiting Amish country or a farmer's market nearby to get a proper taste of what they have to offer. If you're in Eastern PA, Shady Maple Smorgasbord is a great place to check out Amish food.

@karateman302 Yup, all good points. We often see Amish that are hired as part of a work crew getting a ride in the truck, but they stick to manual tools when working. There's also the Menonites, which I don't know a ton about, but I think they use "Limited Technology" and have the occasional exception that the more traditional Amish communities don't. I had a History teacher who went and lived with the Amish for a year or two... Said it was an awesome experience, but not one that he ever really wants to repeat lol 😆

Amish originally came to America from Europe. Many settled in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio, and other states in the Northeast and Midwest, as well as Canada. The Anuntie Anne 's sauces are options. You are not required to use them on your pretzel. There are diffent styles of pretzel in Philadelphia but Auntie Anne's also in Philadelphia. The locations are often found in airports and train stations because it i s easy to carry while traveling.

Dutch, English, and German descent. I can tell you that the German and Dutch were very influential in my life, especially the cooking. My Grandmothers were both awesome cooks. There are a lot of Amish communities in PA. Lancaster and Belleville are big hubs. There's a restaurant in Lancaster called the Shady Maple Smorgasbord that is run by Amish and is one of the largest, if not the largest, buffet in the USA. There are videos about the buffet on youtube.

When I was a kid/teen in the 90s-00s we often had these as a snack while walking around the mall. You're right they're better without sauce, that's more of a newer thing and the bites. When I was a kid it was just whole soft pretzels in several flavors and also a pretzel wrapped hotdog/sausage. My favorites were the cinnamon sugar pretzel, the garlic butter pretzel, and the polish sausage pretzel dog thing. They were cheap back in the day too.

Amish are of Dutch/German, and Amish is more of a lifestyle that revolves around religion than about loving nature. They believe electricity, cars, and women wearing pants are sins. In much of the US, their beliefs are considered abuse. There's a lot ex Amish on tiktok that exposes the abuse within the Amish communities.

I live in San Antonio, Texas. There’s a popular local supermarket chain called H-E-B everywhere. Some of them, including the one near my house, have an Auntie Anne’s right in the store. It’s very popular. It’s pretty much always busy. Whenever I go there, I always notice at least one person in line, and often it’s a line 4 or 5 people long. We are also one of the fattest cities in America. I went vegan a little while ago so I miss those pretzels. Great reaction!

It looks like Auntie Anne's is in almost every state! However, the catches that I think they're only found in malls. I've never ever seen one outside of a mall, not even in a strip mall (I saw you ask about this in a different video - strip mall is an outdoor mall ). Soft pretzels are really good and I think you would really enjoy them! The soft pretzel with the cheese dipping sauce is the best.

I can't think of any other chain brand of fresh pretzel. Auntie Ann's doesn't have any competition for the title "best brand" -- every other fresh hot soft pretzel comes from a vendor on a street corner with, at most, a food truck. My wife and I typically grab a bucket of the garlic pretzel nuggets on long drives.

The best pretzels are sold on the streets of Philadelphia, where the auto exhaust and the vendor's unwashed hands give them special flavor. No kidding. There's no soft pretzel like a Philly soft pretzel. Auntie Anne's is for people who don't know any better.

Pretzels were originally made by nuns and monks in Germany to show the children how to pray so they’d give them a treat known as a 🥨 pretzel. the Pennsylvania Amish are largely German that’s why you’ll find a lot of German stuff. Amish don’t really work or live with modern day things. It’s horse and buggy and you can’t date someone without both families blessing and it’s strict and linked in traditional ways. But some Amish do work with people outside of the Amish community to sell stuff for money

Their pretzels are so good, Yes, the Amish are a group of people who are Christians. There are a multitude of sects involved. The Pennsylvania and some surrounding areas live life pretty simply. No power, not motorized anything. They are known for their craftmanship also. We don't have Amish in Montana but we do have the Hutterites, one of the branches. Hutterites do have power and motorized vehicles. Go into the Pennsylvania countryside and you could get stuck behind a horse drawn carriage.

It's not that Auntie Anne's are the best pretzels. They're just in every mall and even have mini-stores inside of large truck stops (much like Cinnabon). But in some places they have Auntie Anne's and Wetzel's Pretzels or just Wetzel's Pretzels. Both are fairly good, but only mind-blowing to British people who are unfamiliar with flavor. 😂 The pigs in a blanket are a solid on the go snack while traveling or shopping.
