Europress Gas Press Fit Piping System Specifications 

In this video, we are looking at the specifications of the Europress™ Gas Press-Fit Piping System. This piping system is specifically designed and approved for the safe and efficient distribution of flammable and inert gases in commercial, industrial, and some residential settings.
Let’s look at some of the key specifications:
1. Europress Gas can easily be identified by the yellow ‘Press-Check’ indicator sleeve, the yellow approval sticker or stamp, and yellow nitrile seal.
2. All Europress Gas fittings are manufactured from 316L grade stainless steel and whilst we have both 304L and 316L tube available, only 316L is approved for gas applications.
3. 316L Stainless steel is highly corrosion resistant, ensuring long-term durability, even in aggressive environments such as coastal areas and industrial settings. Stainless steel gas piping requires minimal maintenance, offering a reliable and hassle-free solution with a long service life.
4. For flammable gas applications, Europress Gas is approved up to 5bar, which is 72PSI or 500kPA. And for inert gas applications, it is approved for up to 16bar which is 232 PSI or 1600kPA.
5. Europress Gas has a standard operating temperature range of -20°C to +70°C.
6. From a system design perspective, the smooth inner surface of stainless-steel tube facilitates efficient gas distribution and minimises pressure loss thanks to its excellent flow characteristics.
You might ask, what’s the difference between Europress Gas and Europress general-purpose fittings? Whilst they are both 316L Stainless Steel, a key difference is in the additional testing procedure post manufacture. In the Europress Gas range, every fitting is individually tested whereas in the general-purpose range, they are batch tested. The testing process includes a check on the fitting entry where tolerances are finer than the general-purpose fittings. It also includes checking any welded connections, for example, where a BSP connects onto a press fit connection to ensure it is free from any defects which could result in any leak points. These quality control measures give you confidence you are installing a high-quality product in what can be a hazardous application.
