You missed one, and a cheaper option than most- the Korg SQ-1. Primarily a sequencer, it can nevertheless convert midi over usb to cv and gate. I use it a lot with the modular rig.
Repeating "Floating Ring Cable" without showing us one, doesn't magically make us understand. If you are teaching us these things using images, would you please be so kind as to be consistent? Thank you for any consideration which you may give this.
The best entry level recommendation is missing: Most semi-modular synthesizers with midi input also have Midi-to-CV conversion, like Cre8Audio East Beast/West Pest, Moog Mother 32, or Make Noise 0-Coast.
Dang I wish this video existed a year ago! I’m still trying to get up and running with the gear I bought (none of it is listed here), and there’s a few options I didn’t know about.
Cv.ocd and its daughter, mutant brain, supply 4 CV and a bunch of configurable gate outputs, for a very, very reasonable price. I also like the look of midi to CV modules from Flame.
